Well okay it's not exactly sushi but definitely satisfied my craving for it! I bought these mini nori sheets recently- they had a roasted flavor very yummy and that's when I came up with this idea. I made riceless California rolls Imitation crab meat Nori Sliced avacado Julliened cucumber Layed it all out on top of the nori like an open faced sushi and voila! I ate 2 of these guys with a little soy sauce

I am not a big candy eater, but let me tell you when I am craving something - I need those flavors!! Since being sleeved I have had to get creative with how I approach certain cravings. So, there I was last night craving something sweet, particularly a Butterfinger Candy bar. I knew I didn't need the sugars and junk in one but needed those flavors. Into the kitchen I went and here is the concoction I mixed up and OMG, tastes JUST LIKE a Butterfinger candy bar! Ingredients: 1 - 11 oz. chocolate Premier Protein shake 1 tbsp. sugar free, Fat Free Butterscotch pudding Mix 1 tbsp. creamy Peanut Butter 1 tsp. instant coffee granules (you don't taste the coffee, just …

I have tried several ways of making these things palatable, but I haven't been able to do it. I hate them. I have turned them into pizza, made "burritos" out of them, and wrapped lunch meat and cheese in them. They are nasty. The next thing I'm going to try is spraying them with butter flavored cooking spray, sprinkling with garlic salt, and baking til crispy, then dipping them in hummus. At this point, I'm just trying to get rid of them. Any ideas? How do you eat them? I'm either not eating any bread products at all or going to whole wheat tortillas in small amounts and saying screw the carbs. -Kendra

Hey! So I came up with this with the help of my mom. I'm sure there are probably other people who thought of it before, but I wanted to share just in case there wasn't! I took lean ground angus beef (I looked for bison - which would be better because it has less fat, but couldn't find any) and put it on top of multigrain tostitos and cheese on top of that, then I broiled it for a minute in my toaster oven and dipped those chips into fat free Greek yogurt in place of sour cream (it tastes exactly the same!!!) It's a great way to get Greek yogurt in which is high Protein and absolutely delicious alternative to real nachos. I had to make it tonight because I was crav…

So I have decided to cut out as many preservatives as possible from my diet. I want to eat as organic as possible, no flour except chic pea flour, spelt flour or almond flour. no sugar, even splenda or fake sugar substitutes either. I will use raw honey. lol Im definitely taking on a challenge but I feel this will be a positive change for me and my family. Im trying to source out some recipes using organic ingredients that are both flavorful and filling. Just wondering if anyone has ideas or recipes to share with me?

  10. Hello everyone! I wanted to share a couple recipes with you all. I posted a new recipe on my blog for Mexican spiced shrimp with black refried Beans. There's also a link to my food blog which has a recipe for Indian Spiced Shrimp with Yogurt, garlic and cilantro dipping sauce--very VSG friendly! You can check them out HERE. I hope you like them! Just because we had weight loss surgery should not mean that we need to eat bland "diet" foods. I strongly feel that if we're happy with what we're eating, we're more likely to eat less, and continue losing our excess weight. I'm, personally, more likely to be satisfied with something I enjoy, rather than eating…

Hello Tomorrow is my second week. I am starting soft foods. I bought salmon and tuna in pouches. Single serve which is what I liked about it. Does anyone know how or what to mix with the salmon? Mayo, mustard ( yellow or brown?) I have no idea how to eat this lol. The tuna is easy. Ill mix that with mayo but I can't have hard food yet like onions so I don't know what to mix with the salmon. I am sad I do not know how to add a photo - tried to link it from the Pintrest site I found it at but its a no go. I saw the recipe the other night and gave it a whirl - I used turkey bacon instead of regular. Used a mini muffin tin - cut a slice of turkey bacon (2/3 of one bacon strip seemed to work well) for each cup, stand it on end. Mixed up 6 eggs, a bit of sharp sheddar and spices and pour into the cups, about 2/3 full - the bacon is on the outside (it is easy to pour too much in and make a mess lol.) Baked @ 350 for 30-35 minutes and they were very delicious. I have not run it through a recipe maker to find out the exact breakdown on protein/cals/carbs/fat etc…

Good Morning! This weekend after trying to find some new low carb/calorie recipes I stumbled across Krafts Healthy living section. They have some good recipes that are low carb. Now some say the carbs are like 20 grams, however that is for a cup to 1 1/3 cups of food. I can eat maybe 1/4- 1/2 cup so take that into account when looking at the recipes. I found come really great ones, and substituted a few things to make it even healthier. Just some ideas for those that still like to cook and are getting tired of the same things! My husband was very happy with the recipes that I made from this so far http://www.kraftreci...cipes/main.aspx

I have to go to a family Christmas gathering on December 15th. I will be one day shy of 4 weeks post op. Not everyone at the party knows what type of surgery I had (the know I had stomach surgery and that I am on drastic food restrictions). Question is this is a pot luck type party. Any suggestion of something I could take that I could eat and others would want to eat as well? The hardest par is going to be not having a glass of wine!
