My Name is Becky and I am from Alberta Canada. I grew up in manitoba in a wonderful family who loves food and family gatherings. from an early age I loved cooking and being creative in the kitchen. Once I was in my teens I began to realize my body loves to hold onto weight and not let go. its been a battle ever since for me.
I have been battling the weight loss game for years now trying every diet from the cabbage soup diet, which resulted in a small loss and not even being able to look at a cabbage for 2 years. then came Atkins....(should be called the greasy egg diet) ewww lol. I hate sea food so I found myself eating meat and eggs resulting in feeling like a grease ball. after two weeks I lost 2 pounds but couldnt get past another egg so gave up. (meanwhile my best friend lost 15 pounds on the same diet). Now I thought Id try the Curves diet, which I loved but was eating constantly. it was very inconvenient with my job. So with another small weight loss I gave that up too. After that came the grapefruit diet, Eat Clean diet, fat burning foods, low calorie diet, lol you name it I tried it. The longest one was 8 months of solid exercise and strict diet which I followed well. I lost only 10 pounds in that 8 months, so you can imagine my frustration after so much work. Thats when a light bulb went on in my head and realized there might be something wrong. So, after seeing a nutritionist and my doctor ordering a slew of blood tests we concluded that weight loss surgery was right for me. I waited a year to get in, and FINALLY I got that life changing call.
At first I told everyone in my excitement....BIG MISTAKE. I never realized that people may have a very negative opinion on weight loss surgery. so I learned to be more guarded only telling select people. I have to learn that this is for me, not anyone else. That I tried and tried to loose the natural way and I know I gave it my all so that is proof enough. I now get to begin my journey of success and finally feel beautiful at the end. So far this journey has opened my eyes to how judging the world is. I noticed when eating out the stares and glares you get when you receive you plate of food you ordered that turned out to be huge. The stares makes you feel 100 pounds heavier then you are and like a slob. Im sick of it. I want to show the confident impowered woman iam inside. I want to show that Iknow Im beautiful and im confident in that. So now it my turn to turn heads in a good way! its my time to shine!
