So I came across a recipe and it's really good. I thought it wouldn't be but it was. 2 bananas mashed mixed with rolled oats. I added walnuts in it also. Baked for 10 minutes. Just in case you wanted something different. Sent from my Moto E (4) using BariatricPal mobile app

Hi all! I am 4 months post sleeve. My tummy still prefers softer Protein. I went to Starbucks and had their Egg Bites. They are delicious! This inspired me to create my own version at home. My version is made in muffin tins and baked since I don't have a Sous Vide cooking device. They turned out so good! And you can add fun stuff to make them even tastier. Recipe follows: For 5-6 Egg Bites (I eat only one at a time but they store well in the fridge, so I have them for the whole work week), you will need: 6 eggs 1/3 cup half & half (or whole milk) 1/4 cup cheese- I use Gouda, but any kind will do. Dash of salt & pepper A…

So I purchased some of these today from a store called total nutrition. You can also order them online but only in cases. I ate one for dinner and it was really good! It's the perfect size. The crust is chicken breast with Parmesan cheese!

I got this Cauliflower Crusted Pizza recipe from YouTube and decided to make it; it was delicious! May I add, this is my first time cooking something that isn’t soup or mac n’ cheese. I decided to cut the portions in half since I’m sleeved. This Cauliflower Pizza is super simple and delicious! Ingredients: - Cheese Grater - 1 Cup of Grated Cauliflower - 1/2 Egg - 1/2 Cup Parmesean - Pizza Sauce - Mozzarella - Spinach - 4 Sliced Cherry Tomatoes Recipe Link: https://youtu.be/XaCYSX5WE5M

Oh. My. Goodness. Or should I say Graham’s goodness. I really wanted something sweet and although I can withstand lots of repetitive meals I was starting to struggle with lack of variety this distance out (4 months). All options I fancied were just to pricey in terms of carbs. Then I found this at Lidl. 50g (half serving) was more than enough and felt sooo indulgent. Uses polydextrose sweetener which counts as fibre, hence low cal. Won’t be a regular thing as too sweet really and can see it as a gateway food to other less restrained indulgence, but YUM! I bought a loaf from Mama Jeans health food store, because I was craving a sandwich. On my first try eating it I was disgusted. It had this kind of explainable tang to it. Then I did some poking around online and found out that it should be toasted first for best results. OMG! I have a new favorite food item. It's so much better toasted. So far I've made it with "peanut butter & banana" and "avocado, tomato, sprouts, & mustard". I'm in love after almost trashing it. And it has a crazy shelf life if you keep it zip-locked in the fridge. I was wondering if anyone else has tried it yet? If you like it? And what you top it with? (open face and only half a slice of cou…

Had a cheeky win eating out that I wanted to share. Went to Frankie and Benny's with my fella. Plan of attack when eating out so far has been getting as clean a high protein starter/salad as I can find and he gets a main we both like the look of. Then get it all to come at once with a spare plate and I get bits and bobs from his plate and vice versa. Works out really well ?. This time it was their avocado, chicken and bacon salad with dressing on the side. The chicken was kind of beyond chargrilled to dry, but I was starving and knew I didn't need many edible bits to make me full. So with lean bacon, chicken, avocado to lubricate, bits of salad, and one cheeky sweet …

Hello BariBrothers, BariSisters, BariFamilies, and general lovers of healthy, good food. My name is Smye and I live on a small farm in the Pacific Northwest. During both pre and post op appointments with my nutritionist, I was horrified by the suggested things I could eat once I was back to 'regular foods.' The suggestions I was given were flavorless, full of preservatives & junk, and/or otherwise reminiscent of the american 'instafoods' that are, in my opinion, a huge part of the original problems. That said, I wanted to share some of the real, whole foods I've been enjoying lately without hurting my sleeve or deviating from the dietary guidelines provided to me by…

Just curious if anyone has used or is using ground avocado pit in their diet? I heard about it being able to be used months ago, found it interesting but kind of just brushed it off. Recently came across the idea again and will more than likely try it out. Just wanting to know if you use it and what effects if any have you noticed?

These are my absolute favorite. My husband makes them a few times a week. 2 eggs 1 large banana (or 1 1/2 small) That's it Whisk eggs mush in banana then whisk, til it looks like pancake batter. Cook on griddle or skillet. Yields 4 small pancakes which I am 6 months out almost and can only eat 1. So I'm eating a 1/2 an egg and 1/4 of a banana. They keep well in fridge in a zip lock bag over night. If they last that long. Hubby eats the other 3 most days.

I am getting ready to go back to work, and want to start planning on snackideas to take with me. i will be 5 weeks post op when I return to work, so would appreciate any and all snack ideas other than my Protein Drinks - don't get me wrong, I love the different Premier Protein and muscle milk flavors.... but just want something different. I would love to hear ALL Snacks, not just recent post op ones. Ideally these are just snacks, but if they are a little bigger that's fine too, as I can consolidate them to make it 1 or 2 snacks Ive ordered small containers to hold snacks to get ready some suggestions I've read are tuna in the foil packs, …

I just changed my brand of vanilla protein powder. It is my breakfast staple (one shot of coffee, chilled overnight, with 1 scoop vanilla protein powder, dash of milk and 7 ice cubes in a blender. Vanilla coffee slushy - my forever breakfast!) Anyway, in the pack was this recipe. I just made it up - OH YUM. And soft, so ok for the soft food stage too! I have entered it in my fitness pal as “Vanilla protein banana mug cake” 1 banana (mashed) 1 egg 1 tbsp milk (dairy or non-dairy) 1/2 scoop (15g) vanilla protein powder 3 tbsp almond meal 1/2 tsp baking powder Whisk egg, mashed banana and milk together. Stir in dry ingredients intel …

I happen to love cheese, and cottage cheese has come to be one of my go to meal and snack staples. I like cottage cheese plain, but I also like it topped with something tasty. I like it with various toppings and add-ins like: Freshly ground black pepper Fresh, ripe, sliced tomato Fresh herbs (like dill) Fresh fruit Cucumber yogurt salad Greek salad toppings Kalamata olives Pickled beets Dash of salad dressing What do you like to add to your cottage cheese?

I just recently purchased the smallest package of coconut flour for a recipe and I have no idea how I'll use it all considering that recipe flopped Anyone think of a recipe they like that uses coconut flour? I'm open to suggestions! I checked pinterest and it has a lot of baked goods which I'm not really into (only 3 months post op) and a lot of "bread" or what's supposed to be a bread substitute I guess. Halp!

So manicotti has always been my favorite meal! I am Italian and most our best family dishes have noodles. Well we made zucchini manicotti last night. Let me say it was amazing. The zucchini just takes on the taste of whatever its cooked with! We just cooked our manicotti how we usually would and used zuchinni rather than manicotti shells!

From the title, it sounds like the most unhealthy thing ever, but it is NOT! It is the equivalent of baking sweet potatoes along with poached chicken topped with a little cheese LOL. I bake sweet potato fries in the oven till they are crispy, I get the crinkle kind from McCain. The serving size is 3 oz (160 calories) but that's enough for two meals (if not more). I then cook some poached and shredded chicken (no more than 2 oz) along with a few tablespoons of Buffalo wing sauce till it's nice and coated. In a nice individual serving baking plate, I layer as follows: 1- The crispy sweet potato fries. 2- Finely shredded sharp cheddar. 3- The c…

Thankfully able to get solid food down again. And last night, we made Fathead pizza! Oh man, was it awesome!! Low carb, crispy, thinner crust pizza. The crust is made with almond flour, egg and cheese. Super easy to make and you can top with your choice of cheese, meat and veggies. Cut the pie into 8 pieces. Could only eat 1 piece. Carb content of 1/8th of crust is only 4 grams. Leftovers today...mmmmm. Husband and 26 year old son loved it too, we gave it 5 stars! If interested, just do a search for fathead pizza.

I have been getting away from commercial Protein bars for a couple of reasons. The artificial sweeteners play havoc with my system, and it seems to be getting worse. But the way things go around here, I often find myself needing portable food, sometimes on a moment's notice. I have been looking around on the interweb for Protein Bar recipes, and even did a search here (without much in the way of results). so I am asking... Does anyone here make their own bars? Would you be willing to share a link or recipe? I am looking for something low carb, high protein. I am not too concerned about fat content. It does not have to be ultra simple, but I don't want to have to…

Ok, this recipe is so good I am compelled to share. I was doing my normal once-a-month cooking frenzy where I prepare and freeze a months worth of lunches and one of the recipes I chose this time was the Chili Relleno Casserole from the World According to Eggface site. Instead of using leftover turkey, I use some leftover chicken breasts I had grilled and frozen awhile ago and needed to use up. Click Here for Recipe Photo (from the site): I prepared it as instructed and divided it into 5 portions, here is the nutrition information I came up with via MyFitnessPal per portion: Calories: 236 Carbs: 21.7g (14g of this is from the black beans) Fat: 6.4g Prot…

I'm a big fan of homemade Soups. Especially my wifes chicken noodle Soup. However, she has outdone herself this time. She found tumeric bone broth Protein powder and red lentil Pasta. Add that to chicken she pulls apart herself to get rid of as much fat as possible and you get a pretty damn good soup that is not only bariatric friendly, but the perfect macro blend. Protein, complex carb, and fluids! She picked up a rotisserie chicken at the store to save some time. The pasta: Water season the rest however you want This makes 77 ounces. I logged this into my personal MFP recipe as 77 servings. Here is the breakdown: Nutrition Facts Servings 7…
