Hey everyone! Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas! I am still researching weight loss surgery and wondered about the following... Just curious about the loose skin after having lost so much weight. I know there is a tummy tuck that is normally covered. Has anyone heard of other areas being covered; such as the arms and legs? Is there such a procedure for the arms and legs to remove excess skin? I have quite a bit of weight to loose and know most areas will need some form of "tuck" attention. Thanks for reading this and providing your stories of experience. Take care. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

I am one year post op and have lost 155 pounds. I feel great and generally have not had any major problems. Last night about 9pm I drank a Protein shake and my stomach just started hurting. I took some chewable gas x and that got me burping, but did not get rid of pain. I did eventually fall asleep, but still had pain at 2am. Tried a protonix and woke up this morning with no pain, just tired. As soon as I took my morning meds with a little Water, pain came back. My morning meds include a protonix, so it receded fairly quickly. I also took an extra for good measure. I did eat about 2 cups of raw veggies yesterday. Could this be the cause? Any help or insight woul…

Hey guys, Got my date for the bypass- 4/4/17. Cant wait until I have this change, my eating is killing me. Anyway, just two things: 1. Any advice for those going into bypass op? 2. What do you think I could try to not eat so much until I go on to the pre op diet? I feel like a whale- christmas and all, so much food. I laugh about it, but deep down, its appalling- knocking back all these delicious morsels. Hope u all have had a nice xmas! I had my surgery in Tijuana Mexico 12/15/16, ive had absolutely no complications! I threw up last night Christmas Eve because the broth That my mother-in-law gave me off her chicken for todays dinner was too greesy bot ooooohhhh soooo delicious , it came up out my mouth &nose! HONESTLY my weight loss has been slower than ive been reading on other patients post but oh well any loss is better than any gain! I picked up 7lbs in the hospital from swelling & IV Fluids, lost that plus bout 5 or 6 more, so its slow motion but im dealing with it…

Omg I've been trying the premier Protein powder and it sucks. I've tried it with milk and Water and its still no good. The flavor is horrible. The consistency is way to thick even with extra fluids added. I don't know I can't get it to taste right. Its awful. The Protein shakes are awesome but the powder is horrible. Any suggestions? I'm 4 days post op and having the worst recovery!! The gas pain is tolerable today but my brain is foggy and I'm having dizzy spells. I'm having trouble concentrating, feeling feverish(no actual fever though) hot/cold flashes and headache as well. I'm trying to keep hydrated thinking that may have been it but nothing seems to help. The only other thing I'm thinking is the fact that I was under anesthesia for 2.5 hours. I've never been under that long before. Has anyone else had a similar experience? I'm seeing my doctor on Tuesday but if I could have some piece of mind before that I would be very appreciative. Lapband revision to gastric bypass on 12-14-2016 …

Hi I'm getting panic attacks and I'm wondering if anyone else is too? I think it might be vitamin related. Here is my story, so far. I had one panic attack when I was heavy in 2005 or so. I had surgery in 2007, I was a model patient and got below my goal weight. I went through a divorce and by 2010 I was alone. I started going out with friends and not eating right, not taking vitamins, drinking alcohol, etc. I had my second panic attach in 2012. I felt my heart racing and was convinced I was having a heart attack and that just spiraled into a full blown panic attack. I went to the ER, nothing was the matter with my heart, in fact it wasn't racing at all, it was no…

All the sudden 2-3 days ago I started having pain in my tummy. Constant contracted pain. It's a dull pain not to bad unless I try to eat. Everything I eat bothers my tummy. I can drink milk ok and Water but that's it. Any thoughts? My first issue I don't want to over react. Thought someone here could maybe help. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

So after being on my preliquid diet for seven days and just about to get ready to start my full liquid diet, my insurance tells me that the center where I'm having my surgery is not a blue point facility so it won't be approved. I am livid. I called my drs office and they call the insurance company and they say that's bs we have it on record that you told us this facility was approved and that it did not have to be a blue point facility. So now my surgeon and office manager are trying to get in contact with the medical director over the insurance to figure something out. I don't know what to do all I feel is anger and like eating. About a month ago I started having abdominal pain. I thought it was another bout of diverticulitis. Years ago I was hospitalized for it and have had several recurrences. My GP put me in Cipro. The pain seemed to go away but came back before two weeks was up. I returned and he prescribed Cipro & Flagyl and ordered CT scans. He told me the scans came back suggesting I had a rare condition in adults called intussusception, which means the intestine telescopes on itself. At the time I had no idea it was related to my RNY gastic bypass surgery. I went to a local surgeon for a consultation. He didn't think the CT scans looked like intussusception, so he wanted me to have a …

My surgeon doesn't recommend counting calories, just making sure I'm getting 60-70g Protein and 64 oz Water a day. I've been tracking my input with MFP and I'm very curious how many calories other folks are consuming after surgery. Most days I'm between 400-500 calories (basically I have one Protein Drink and two Oikos Triple Zero yogurts a day) and I'm 3 weeks out from RnY.
