  1. I'm supposed to be on 60-70g of protein a day. I noticed when I didn't hit that amount is when the stall happened.
  2. 30-40 grams of Protein seems kind of low. Is that what your nutritionist recommended? If you're not getting the full amount of protein in daily then your body goes into starvation mode
  3. Hi. I had bypass on 12/05/16 and located in queens. Mine wasn't a revision so I don't know if there are differences but it's been great so far with one exception.

  5. I'm sorry to hear you had such a long drawn out process. I imagine that would definitely contribute to feeling over it. After tomorrow it'll all be worth it. 7 weeks post op myself and all the negatives of the liquid and puréed stage feel like a distant memory. Don't forget you will hit stalls but don't be discouraged. Just try to stick to Water and Protein requirements!

  7. I agree.... we all know it happens but it still sucks! In a week it'll feel like a distant memory. [emoji4]
  8. hospital billed $120k for my 30 hour stay.... insurance paid $61k.
  9. I took 2 weeks off for rny. I was moving well after 1 week but when I was sore or low energy it was nice to lay back down in a comfortable position. Also I work on the 4th of a walk up building so the first week of going back the stairs were a little slow going. The first week back (3rd week post op) was rough at work. I was drained physically and mentally.
  10. 3 weeks post op and I've had a stall for about 10 or so days now. I just increased my Protein for 3 days now and still in a stall. How long has some of you noticed the weight starts coming back off again once you get back to recommended protein amounts? (My NUT said I was in starvation mode so been working hard to get the 70-80g everyday now)

  12. Im 25 days post op and I haven't lost anything in 9 days. I didn't even realize I was in a stall until checked the scale today. Quite discouraging.

  14. For those of you who had stalls - did you stick to same diet plan? Or did you change a little to get back to losing again?
  15. I had c section in 2000 and rny 12-5-16.... pain was much worse for the rny. I didn't use any pain meds for c sexton but used up all the liquid Percocet provided for rny recovery. First week didn't seem that bad after rny but in my second week it was terrible. Back pain and sharp pains in the incision site. Then like a klutz I fell and hit my stomach day 13. Pulled all my muscles and bruised my stomach so pain was VERY intense week 3. As of yesterday I am finally pain free and don't need aspirin anymore.
  16. I am now 22 days post op rny.... I am so sick of "purée" stage. I just want to chew my food. The flavors of the foods are all good it's a textural thing at this point. I find myself craving crackers and nuts just for a crunchy effect because I miss it.
  17. Hi sassymedic! I had the same gas pains and difficulty passing 2 days after getting home. Took a very small dose of milk of magnesia and within hours helped me pass gas. It relieved a lot of the pressure. Also. I found that because I had absolutely no hunger my husband eating foods in front of me and even the smell of it didn't phase me. I hope it turns out the same for you!
  18. To all of you pre op and on the liquid diet~~ keep it up. It's hard to stick with the liver shrinking diet but so worth it to have a smooth surgery and recovery!
  19. Hi hi! I had my surgery dec 5th. I'm wondering how my fellow post ops are doing? Everything went really well and "routine" for me during sx and recovery. But I just started having intense left side pains in my back and around the largest incision. Anyone else having similar pains?
