  1. Wit uhh my stricture anything I ate or drank felt like it was sitting right between my breast and very heavy! Also anything I ate or drank would give me what they call foamies...and I would vomit foam for hours [emoji17] Sent from my SM-G930R4 using BariatricPal mobile app
  2. I had a severe stricture and was balloon dilated. They did not fully sedate me. They put me in what they call a twilight state. I remember parts of the procedure but didn't feel pain. However my throat felt like strep throat the next day. I had the procedure repeated 3 times before it finally stayed! Sent from my SM-G930R4 using BariatricPal mobile app
  3. I always have a supply of sugar free life savers the mint ones. They have 5 calories each. I've had no problem with them making me want candy... however I've never been a candy fanatic. Sent from my SM-G930R4 using the BariatricPal App

  5. It's been hard to keep up on fluids. But I've felt much better today and got atleast 65 Oz in so I think I'm getting back to normal. I'd have never thought surgery would take away the ability to vomit! I'd say I'm glad cause I've always hating vomiting but I think the lack of was worse. The heaving was terrible. 9. I have the stomach flu and I cannot vomit! Both of my kids had a 24 hour stomach bug this week and I guess it's my turn. I'm 8 months post op rny and this is my first time sick. I'm going through all the motions... uncontrolled heaving, gagging, the whole mess....but not one time has any vomit came up. Anyone else experience trouble vomiting post op??? 10. The one and only time I dumped was like a week post op and I was still on pureed foods. On the list of my approved foods was Sf chocolate pudding. I was sick for almost 3 hours over that cup of pudding. My doctor said it was a sensitivity to sugar alcohol. Sent from my SM-G930R4 using the BariatricPal App

  15. I'm curious as to how you knew after the first surgery that your pouch was too big?? Sent from my SM-G930R4 using the BariatricPal App
  16. I used to sweat like crazy so when my surgeon mentioned I'd say cold after surgery I imagined as hot as I usually am after surgery I'll probably just be comfortable....wrong I am so cold that it hurts. It feels like I'm frozen to bone most of the time. The boss put a lock box on the thermostat at work because I was burning them out. And my bf is always complaining at home that him and the kids are so hot and uncomfortable. Blankets and extra clothes just don't keep me warm. I fell your pain. Really I do ???? 17. I had two bad strictures. Both times they were so tight even Water would make me vomit and get the slimmies. My first one was immediately relieved after an endoscopy. My second one came two weeks after the endoscopy and was just as tight. Again after a second endoscopy it was immediate relief (minus the sore throat you get from the scope) Sent from my SM-G930R4 using the BariatricPal App

  25. Does your surgeon know the budget you have to work with?? My bariatric center stressed the cost of what I would need to make sure I was prepared for the expense this journey would be. It is not possible to get your Protein and Vitamin needs met on a Ramen noodle budget. Even though my food intake has went down tremendously my grocery bill has still went up significantly! Unfortunately it is expensive to eat healthy. And quality shakes and Vitamins are costly. I hope you are prepared for this! Sent from my SM-G930R4 using the BariatricPal App
  26. I had the rny gastric bypass. And I feel that's alot of change to your body and alot to go through to stop at 6 months in. Especially since I'm still willing to put in the work to go further! Sent from my SM-G930R4 using the BariatricPal App
  27. Had my 6 month post op rny appointment this week. I'll start by saying my pre surgery weight was 286. At my 6 month appointment I weighed 199. My surgeon never had me set a goal weight and I didn't really give it a lot of thought I just intended to get to a healthier weight and reduce my high bp. My doctor at my recent apt said that when I hit 180 I should make my calories in match my calories out and maintain weight. I was confused and said so I shouldn't lose anymore than 19 more pounds...and she said yes that would be a comfortable weight for me and I wouldn't have to struggle to maintain that. Now my problem with that is I still have over 6 months of active weight loss left....am I only going to lose 19 pounds in that long of a period??? And why stop there? Now that I actually think about it I'd really like to be atleast 160. Has anyone else been told to stop before you feel your done? I'm 33 years old and 5'4 so I'm still considered obese! 28. I too had 2 strictures the first one being at 4 weeks out! However my bariatric surgeon performed my endoscopy and dilated me on the spot. Two weeks later I was sick again and went for a second endoscopy and again he dilated me on the spot! And that time it stayed. I cannot imagine going as long as you had to wait....I vomited non stop during my strictures and couldn't eat or take Vitamins. That's a very long time to feel miserable. Sorry you had to endure such. Prayers your complication days are over! Sent from my SM-G900F using the BariatricPal App
  29. Congratulations on your decision! I'm a little over 8 weeks post op rny. I never really had any post op pain....I'd say I had some tenderness. I was up and walking about 2 hours after surgery and kept walking every 2 or 3 hours and I never even had gas pain. Each person is different of course but if your biggest fear is post op pain you shouldn't worry at all! Best of luck on your journey! Sent from my SM-G900F using the BariatricPal App
