So this is the list of shakes I can have. Any advice on which ones are the best on this list? I have a real problem with artificial sweeteners. Seems like they all have sucralose. I have a hard time with the taste of whey to begin with.

I got sleeved June 6, 2016. As I approach my 1 year surgiversary, I want some input from fellow sleevers about vitamins. I bought a bunch of Celebrate Vitamins (chewables) but I want to know if sleevers are allowed to take whole vitamins rather than chewables. Thoughts anyone?

I am almost 4 weeks post-op and I haven't started taking the vitamins yet because I can't afford them. Can anyone tell me through consequences. Also I was told that protein shakes can't be used but I have read the some of you do, is there a cretain reason why I shouldn't. Everything I eat or drink anything my stomach hurts any suggestions. All I have eaten is mashed potatoes, applesauce, sugar free pudding, cottage cheese aND just started a slice of toast and crumbled sausage. Just a very small amount at a time, is this normal. Sorry for all of the questions. Thanks everyone.

I'm trying to plan ahead and work out how I will organize taking my vitamins and my meds, and how I will carry them when away from home, like at work or out running errands. I was told I'll be taking vitamins 5x a day. I know I can't take iron supplements with calcium supplements, so those will be at separate times. And I have a thyroid med I have to take first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, with no other meds. I've been looking online for pill organizers and such, but I'm not sure the ones I have seen will fit my vitamins. I'm thinking about getting the Wellness Travel Pack to carry in my purse (although it looks bigger than my wallet!), see the link bel…

I have a confession. I'm sure I'm not unique. I'm really tough on myself. I judge my body and its imperfections in a way that's often WAY worse than when I was overweight. I surpassed my surgeon's goal months ago. Why didn't I Celebrate? Because the body I saw NAKED in the mirror didn't reflect back to me the image I wanted to see. So I keep loosing weight. I hit 150 on the scale yesterday. At one point this would have been my goal weight. I still see a small percentage of fat underneath the skin around my belly so I have adjusted my goal. I worry I will keep doing this and I will never be satisfied. This behavior is new to me. I'm typically one to find pleasure even in …

My experience with the chicken Soup Protein mix by Unjury: I've been trying different protein mixes in preparation for surgery. I got a couple packets of the chicken soup thinking it would be nice to have the choice of soup broth. I used my keurig to put hot Water in a mug then mixed the chicken soup packet in. No matter how much I mixed it, it kept forming a thick, curdish layer on the top which was awful. I kept thinking it just wasn't blending so I kept trying. In the time it took to stop stirring and bring the cup to my mouth the curds would form. I couldn't drink it but I tried enough times and had to spit out globs of protein mix that it makes me sick to even think…

I am having a hard time getting my protein in... I've been cleared to the puree stage as of Thursday but the only thing I've eaten is refried beans. I'm still trying to get my water in but not doing well with eating. I can't find anything that's high in protein that I like. My protein drinks are starting to make me nauseous plus my surgeon wants me to ween off of them. What else can I get protein from???

So I ordered vitamin patches for the 2nd time through Bariatric Pal website only to later find this article....so what's true? http://www.bariatriceating.com/2016/06/faq-vitamin-patches-bad/ CAN WE ABSORB VITAMINS AND MINERALS THROUGH OUR SKIN BY USING ONE OF THOSE MULTIVITAMIN PATCHES I HAVE HEARD OF? Vitamin Use Tied to Lower Breast Cancer Death When we heard about ‘multivitamin patches’ that were being marketed to bariatric patients, we were skeptical because we remember the ‘spray vitamins’ similarly targeting us a few years back that turned out to be bogus – the FDA and Attorney General of several states thought so too. We consulted with experts regarding ‘patch mult…

Guys, I'm hoping you know something I don't. My doctor's office was wonderful and gave a full sample pack of different Vitamin flavors to help make purchasing easier. I'm doing the DS and need to be on a Multi-ADEK. The one sampled was the berry sorbet Vitamins I'll have to take are a walk in the park, but at least I can remind myself that they are medicine as I take them. Are there ANY other options out there? Ideally I'd rather do a different texture, but if I can just find a different flavor I'd be happy too! If I'm going to have to take a chewable ADEK for a few months, I'd really rather not be filled with dread multiple times a day.

Like many people I was a HUGE taker of ibuprophen. I haven't taken it since a few weeks before surgery. So probably since the end of May last year. But when the time comes when I have a headache/knee pain, etc I'll take a Tyleno or two but we all know how useless that is. So most of the time I don't even bother. Anyways, my sister in law posted something on Facebook (and we know if we see it on Facebook, it must be legit LOL) about taking a Vitamin called Tumeric/Curcumin. Claims to be a pain reliver and took away this persons migraine plus has many other health benefits. Does anyone take this? Do you take it daily or just when you have aches/pains?…

D) I haven't had a chance to talk my dietician so thought I'd reach out to you veterans! Are there any of these I should avoid taking together? Should I spread them out to 4 times a day? I've been drinking the Premier protein shakes and wondered what kind of low carb/high protein smoothies some of you have created with your shakes? I've been reading about chia seeds and will buy some of those next time I go to the store, and maybe flax seeds too, but fruit wise, all I can think of is the berry family. Any suggestions?

Hi all. I just came across a new "milk" called ripple. It is pea plant based. 80 calories for 8 ounces. 8 G protein 5 g fat and 0 carbs or sugar. The unsweetened tasted kinda yuck when I drank some but I squirted a tiny bit of liquid Splenda and it wasn't bad at all. I am trying to reset my carbs and sugar for a few weeks and this may be helpful and thought I would share. I use fairlife quite a bit but my grocery stopped carrying it and I need to find again.

Hi, I'm 7 days post op and I am having a really hard time tolerating the premier Protein premade drinks. They are so gross & Too sweet for me. I also think they are irritating my stomach. I wake up every morning with lose bowels. I know, I'm sorry TMI, but I didn't know who to ask? . Can anyone recommend another way to get my protein in besides the doctor approved protein yogurts? Maybe some that aren't so sweet, or clear ones, or lactose free ones that are clear? Thank you in advance

This was a staple in my kitchen when I was a vegetarian and tried to eat vegan as often as possible. It really is amazing stuff. Full of nutrients and has a cheesy flavor. Comes in flake form in a canister or by bulk at Whole Foods. Use it anywhere you would use Parmesan cheese, add to any creamy sauces/casseroles, or crumble into breadcrumbs.... “Which bariatric Vitamins do I need before and after surgery?” or “Do I need vitamins if I am losing weight without surgery?” These are some of the most common questions for dieters and weight loss surgery patients before and after surgery. There are so many choices, so how do you know which ones to take? The answer is: it depends! As always, you should check with your own doctor and healthcare team before taking any supplements. Here is a cheat sheet I posted on the BariatricPal Store for the Vitamin and other nutritional supplements you may need before and after weight loss surgery. When applicable, these guidelines are consistent with the latest guidelines fr…
