The few moments I'm not perusing Bariatric Pal I've been known to watch videos "over there" Some of the people have said they've got free samples from Bariatric suppliers, any truth to this? I hate the idea of investing $20-30 on something I'd find loathsome. Besides some of the videos are 5 to 6 years old. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

Have any of you tried the Celebrate tomato soup meal replacement protein? Tomato is my favorite kind of soup, so I'm curious about it. Also, are single-serve packets of it actually available in a 5-pack? They're not available on the Celebrate website, and though they show up on the shop here, they say they're out of stock. I'd like to try it before buying a tub, if possible, but I don't want to spend $35 on a variety pack of samples.

Is there like an alternative? Like some sort of shot I can take that has all of my vitamins. Or what can I do? I'm sooo lost. My hair is falling out like crazy and my body is just so depressed and weak still. I don't know what's wrong with me

Hello, So, since I can't tolerate Carnation Instant Breakfast, my surgeon's office recommended that I try a water-based protein supplement like Isopure from GNC. So, I bought a bag of "Strawberries & Creme" protein powder from GNC the other day. Put simply, I'd rather drink Pepto Bismol straight from the bottle than try that Isopure garbage ever again. I specifically asked the cashier lady at GNC "which one isn't the worst?" and she recommended this flavour of Isopure. Does anyone else have any recommendations about protein drinks?

  23. Hi my expert family! here in New Zealand the range of supplements on offer (like the range or proteins etc) is less. I have been looking for a chewable multi-vitamin for post surgery in 2.5 weeks - my surgeon gives a smallish pill to swallow but said it is just the basics, and when the tummy can handle it to move to Centrum. I found yesterday a centrum for kids, chewable. Orange, tastes ok. Any thoughts on whether two of these would suffice until I can swallow adult centrum?

They are only about $1 a packet and they are easy to grab and go. Only about 100 calories per packet and I can eat two packets and be very full. The salmon is also really good. a little more expensive but very convenient and filling. Just a thought.

Hello bariatric world, I have a concern. I am about 12 days post vsg and I'm having a hard time getting the required amount of protein in. I don't have an issue with premier protein. I purchased Genepro protein to up my protein intake. I wanted to know if it's ok to add a scoop of 30g of Genepro protein to a premixed premier protein shake? I don't want it to harm me. But it sounds like an awesome thing to do and get protein intake out the way. Please let me know if it's ok to mix both proteins. Thank you

I’m 14 months post surgery, reached goal weight, very happy and healthy. I’ve just had one year blood test follow up. Every test within normal range and naturally vastly improved results than pre surgery. I don’t take any vitamin supplements. Now here’s my question. How do we know we should take vitamins if at all? My nutritionist recommended to take a multi vitamin daily for the rest of my life but to be honest I just didn’t bother. Never a fan of supplements pre or post surgery and if results are good and diet good, why take them? Thoughts and feedback appreciated.

I'm still about a month away from my Gastric Bypass Surgery and am looking at options for vitamins, I'm already on a handful of medications a couple times a day and am not all that excited about throwing a handful of vitamins into the mix. Is anyone using vitamin patches? Are they effective? Seems like an easier option but want to get some input before I buy any.

  40. A bit of an odd question, but does anyone else have problems staying up after having their shake? Pre-op, I never even had a supplement shake. So since February, I have tried many different types (meal replacements, whey, vegan), and it always ends with me feeling super drowsy. For the first month or two, sometimes I would actually need to have a nap right after my shake. Ten months later, I can stay awake, but I feel very lethargic and just sit there, like a lump! lol When I'm at work, perhaps it is because I am distracted, but I can still somewhat function. But at home, I just sit on my couch, and can't move for half an hour or so. TMI: And often, I would…

Hello! I finally have a surgery date after 2 years of diets, nutritionists, psychiatrists, insurance companies, and lawyers. My conversion from lapband to RNY is scheduled for November 20th. To say I'm excited is an understatement! For the last two years I've been taking a multi-vitamin, B12 (sub-lingual) and Vitamin D3 so I'm in the habit. My issue has been with getting my calcium in. At first I tried the Citracal (sp?) pills but they were hard to swallow with my lapband. Next I tried the Bariatric Advantage caramel chews but they were so chalky I couldn't stand them. Most recently I tried Solaray's calcium citrate which is this huge chewable tablet. I thought …

Hello, SO for everyone who uses GENEPRO Protein powder. I have been trying to get the people at Musclegen ( the company that makes it. To help me understand their claim that 1 tablespoon of their product contains 30 grams of protein when the tablespoon itself only holds 15 grams of product. Finally after posting numerous times on their website and Facebook I emailed them directly to see if they wished to send me some product to try, under my video taste tests that I do on my blog. Well they declined and also explained about the product and its claims. This one blew my mind. They do not have 30 grams of protein in one tablespoon of product. The say that their product …

Multivitamin, iron and calcium. They are not bad tasting compared to other ones I've tried, I just don't need chewable anymore.
