  2. Hey all, has anyone used the Tespo bariatric vitamins long term? Are you still using them? Has your doctor noticed you being low on any of your vitamins? I'm extremely interested in getting one of these and I know there's a few threads on it already but I'm concerned about how well they work LONG TERM...so I'd like the opinions of people who have used one for a while. Thanks! Also! Does anyone still have a discount code for one? Thanks again! lol.

Hello, all. I haven't been "here" in a bit. What are some of the better-tasting CLEAR LIQUID protein supplements; also which others? [I don't do well with sucralose, but I know it's in practically all of those things, so I'll deal with it for a bit. But usually, I do NOT lose with sucralose/splenda.] I had my VSG Dec. 2013 and have done very, very well. I am totally THRILLED with my surgical results, and my life hence!!!! ALL GOOD. But this past year, I gained a few pounds; not because I could eat a lot of anything, but I admittedly, had more carbs, sugar, etc. So I gained ~ 14 pounds. Not bad, but not wanted. Overall, I've gone from 272--->180; now hanging …

Okay people. I need some recommendations. In Dec 2017 I had the sleeve and Feb 2018 I was converted to the Bypass due to complications. I’m down about 65 lbs. After the healing stages I had SO much energy and felt great, I was hitting the gym, etc.. The past few weeks I’m exhausted. All I want to do is sleep and when I’m not sleeping my eyes burn from being so tired. I take multivitamins, vitamin D, B12 (liquid), iron, and biotin every day. I tried to incorporate Zinc for hair loss, but it makes me sick. Oh, and I do get my protein in everyday. I just had blood work and nothing is low except RBW and BUN/creatitine. Is there anything else I can do to help? Is there a…

Have any of you tried the Barimelt multivitamin smooth fruit flavor or Bariatric Fusion Soft Chew mixed berry? I have an anaphylactic allergy to shellfish and nuts and these are the only ones that are manufactured in a facility not with these items that I can find. I did contact my allergist and was advised not to even test the waters per se even though they follow rigorous cleaning. Thanks for any help you can provide. I have read different reviews.

  11. I started vitamins today. I have Bariatric Advantage Calcium Citrate caramel chews (yummy!) which I have no problem chewing. They taste good. However, the Bariatric Advantage Multivitamin mixed fruit chews are testing my gag reflex. I chewed and swallowed the first one. It was distasteful to me to put it mildly. I had to immediately wash my mouth out with water. I have to take another. Can I just cut it with my pill cutter and swallow the whole pieces with water? Does that way interfere with absorption? Oh man, they do NOT agree with me. LOL

So in effort to reach my daily protein goal (80 grams) without having to drink a shake everyday I have been looking for alternative protein sources. Today I tried a bag of Quest chips in cheddar/sour cream. 21 grams of Protein~130 calories~4 grams of carbs. I thought they were pretty good. The flavor wasn’t bad and they kinda taste like baked chips that are off brand. ? I would eat them again and they helped with my desire to crunch. I was able to eat the whole bag in 1 sitting so I’m pretty sure they are sliders so I’ll have to watch it. I thought it would make a great on the go snack and the bump in protein (listed as milk isolate and whey) it what I need to meet my …

Does anyone have any experience of vitamin patches? I'm struggling to believe their efficacy as some of the vitamins have very large molecular structures. As skin as inherently non-permeable, I don't see how they can enter through a patch on the skin. I may be totally wrong on this. I'd like to hear what you guys think or have found?

  25. I have a 15-serving tub of Celebrate's chicken soup flavor meal replacement that I opened to try but didn't end up liking (I'm picky, and I only tried a partial serving, so not even one full serving is missing out of it), so I figured I'd offer it up here to see if anyone wants to buy it. $15 plus $10 shipping*. Retail, it's $28.95 plus tax/shipping. Info about it is here: https://www.celebratevitamins.com/meal-replacement-tub.html * = Yes, that's the actual shipping cost. I originally bought the tomato soup flavor and didn't like it, so I exchanged it and had to pay $10 to ship it back to the company to get the chicken soup flavor. Even if I *can* exchange it…

Hi everyone new here I had my surgery on February 7th and doing good but not able to tolerate my protein shakes. Does anyone suggest a really good unflavored protein powder that I can add to my food. I like to make smoothies with fruit and thought to add protein powder to them. Thanks

  37. Started by RaniaOnTheRun,

Hi all! I am pre-surgery and trying to get all of my crap in order but I am having a super hard time with protein shakes. I am one of those (lucky) individuals who is allergic to or cannot tolerate artificial sweeteners of nearly all varieties - this includes stevia. Monk fruit powder has been okay so far. Does anyone have any recommendations on flavored protein shakes that don't contain the usual artificial sweeteners but have enough isolate or veggie protein to be an adequate supplement? (my doctor's office nixed protein concentrates) I have done a lot of research but have only found 2 with limited flavor options. Thank you! Rania

  40. Hey all - less than a month out from surgery and looking to prep. Reviewing the NUT info, they recommend mixing unflavored protein powder in things like applesauce or yogurt during the pureed stage. Tells me to look for powders with at least 15g protein and less than 3 g sugar. Had been looking at syntrax, but that's only 10g protein. Any recommendations? I've heard of genepro and isopure. Haven't found a local GNC yet (moved a year ago and haven't needed one til now) but have been browsing amazon. Thanks!

I've had good luck finding tasty Protein powders from the BariatricEating.com website, but their stuff is darn pricey! But, their Inspire protein powders taste good to me (especially the caramel latte and Peanut Butter cookie), have 20 g of protein and only 1 g of carbs per serving, which makes them perfect for the pre-op low carb diet. Does anyone know of anyplace else to find the Inspire brand? They look like they may be "house" brands at BariatricEating.com, but if that is the case, I wonder if there is a comparable brand that has the same good stuff for a better price. Anyone have suggestions?
