I'm currently researching the Bariatric Choice all in one Vitamin. My Dr mentioned that brand at my last appointment. You would still need to take B1 and B12, but it is only $21.95 for a month's supply.

Quick question: do we need to chewables forever, or can we move to capsules at some point?

I know..each surgeons instructions are different.

I'm wondering why some surgeons have a list of bariatric Vitamins that are specific. I was told no Centrum one a day or Flinstones. their lists included swallow type vitamins

My physician does not require ya to take them forever, but for the healing process he would prefer it. I was told no Flinstones.< br>

They don't have enough of the supplements we need post op to suffice (so says my surgeon). I did get confirmation that the Bariatric Choice all in one multi-vitamins would be ok to take. I will need to take the multi Vitamin, B1, and B12 in the morning, then 3 more of the multi throughout the remainder of the day. That is 4 chewables (multi vitamin) and two pills to swallow daily. My current is a multi vitamin, B1, B12, D3, 2x Calcium in the morning, 2x Calcium at lunch, multi vitamin and 2x calcium at dinner, then Vitamin C and Iron before bed.

The Citracal calcium pills are like horse pills. I'll give the Bariatric Choice a try.

Going to look this up as well. Just trying to get the most bang for my buck. I believe we all are. Thanks!

You will need to take B12 everyday? From my understanding you could request the monthly injections or I should only take it once a week.

I haven’t seen any positive reviews on the Bariatric Choice Vitamins. We carry many affordable Bariatric chewable complete multivitamins. Bariatric Fusion all in one chewable are very popular. We have many other options . Make sure your vitamins meet ASMBS guideline. Most over the counter vitamins do not.

My surgeon recommended the Flimtstones Childrens chewables, and to take 2 a day. Not together, one in morning and one at night. He just recommended tlno gummy vitamins. Also, I buy the Walmart brand, they are 7.99 for 150 in the bottle so it lasts me a little over 2 months, very affordable. Im almost 10 months post vsg and all bloodwork has came back excellent!

Don't be surprised if your tastes changes and your stomach hates these things throughout your post months. I've gone through so many bariatric brands it's ridiculous; waste of money too. Currently, I'm doing the Flintstones (I'm also over 8 months post) and it seems to be fine to a degree. I was taking pills before but those made me sick (some bariatric brand). I hate bariatric Vitamins, so I won't be using them anymore. I'm not worried about lack of vitamins either because I eat a variety of plant based foods, so my blood work is always good.

Don't forget your sublingual B12 though.

if you find yourself fatigued and dropping stuff...get a B complex as well.

Hope you all find what works for you!!!

I have a whole bottle of bariatric Calcium tablets that I won't bother with...FREE to anyone in CC, TX area who wants them.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
