Vitamins or Protein Shakes covered by insurance?

Hello,

Has anyone had any luck on getting their insurance to cover the vitamins or supplements required?? I have Aetna Choice Plus.

Most insurance companies sadly do not cover vitamins and supplements. Many patients have had luck going through https://www.insurenutrition.com/ . You can let them know that we referred you.

Look at it this way--you'll be spending less on food as you'll be eating less, so the grocery money can go to vitamins. Or so I try telling myself!

That's a good way to put it! [emoji6]

Yes, I contacted them. Thanks!

My doc wrote a note that my vitamins and shakes were medically necessary, and I was able to get reimbured through my medical savings account. Not exactly covered by insurance....but at least pre-taxed dollars...and I have a ton of money in there that I'd like to get back in my pocket:)

My vitamins were covered by insurance with the doctors office writing a Rx for nascobol- vit B nose spray. They send a whole bag of the other vitamins you need with the Rx vit B. I have Capital Health Plan- blue cross blue shield in FL.
