  2. After trying about 30 different Protein powders, I finally gave in and bought the sample pack from unjury. Downed my first chocolate shake about 12 minutes ago now.... I'm extremely lactose intolerant, but so far no tummy objections except some mild burping (fairly normal with anything I eat/drink at this point--thanks, GERD). Might I have finally found a suitable Protein Shake???? It definitely tastes the best, but at this point, I'm desperate just to find ANYTHING that doesn't upset my preop stomach; I can't imagine what some of these would do post-op! Don't really have anywhere else to share this excitement lol. I text one of my best friends who knows about my sur…

I noticed most of the FREE SAMPLES listed on other topics are from years ago and the freebies they offered then are no longer avalible. I am scouring the Internet looking for free samples I have a couple that are really 100% free and many that you pay for but you can get individual servings and not be stuck with tons of stuff you don't like. I will post totally free, if I find any, as well as those that are available for a nominal cost if there is any interest in my doing this. Reply if you would like me to do this. MY BLOG-LOSING IT AT 67 http://losingitat67.wordpress.com I have started posting a inspirational quote/picture every day.

So the new big boy on the market is the power crunch bar. all different flavors and pretty dang delicious. High Protein, 5 g of sugar ( not too bad) right? No Sugar Alcohols, great? Seems great right? Well after ingesting a piece of one at a friends house. I picked up a couple in my local Vitamin shoppe. I mean they looked good, But when i got them home, i gave them to my wife to give out at her place of work. Why? simple. My god they are loaded with FAT! and not even good fat but Saturated fat. Wow. what the heck? For example the chocolate mint has 13g of fat!!! a whopping 6 grams of saturated fat!! that is 30% of a normal person's daily recommended fat …

  6. I've gotten the go ahead from my surgeon that I do not have to use chewable or liquid Vitamins anymore and I'm anxious to move on. I have about a month's worth left of my chewables so I have time to research and comparison shop. I'm really interested in hearing from those of you who've had labs done already (I have not) and have good numbers. What do you take? Would you be so kind to tell me the brand and where you get them? If you have a link to it that would be amazing! Thanks!

Has anyone tried this? I got suckered into buying a box at costco last weekend from the guy doing the demonstration. It did taste really good. Thought this would maybe replace the multi I take in the morning just as a change of pace. It is a little pricey however. Let me know if you use this product. http://www.ecodrink.com/ecodrink-multi-new-flavors.html

  8. I'm about six months pre-op but to get ahead of things, I ordered a box of nectar Protein samples. Each pack is one ounce and 23g of protein per packet. Supposedly there is one of each flavor. I want to try one or two but I haven't an idea as to what to do with them? shakes? Mix in my oatmeal? What would you do with these samples?

  9. My Mother once told me about all of the various cures, foods, etc. found in the Bible. One of these is Aloe Vera. She had a Hispanic friend from a card club who had ulcers and used to come over and cut off some of the leaves from her plant, strip the outter skin and blend the rest, and then add it to a milkshake and drink it. We also used to use it for sunburns. It would take the sting out right away and within 20 minutes there was no longer any pain. Some Burn Centers grow it and use it to treat patients. When I had my surgery in December 2014 I bought a gallon of Aloe Vera juice from a local Natural Foods store. I did a luittle research and found you only want juice…

I am wondering if anyone has had problems with potassium deficiency? I am two weeks post.op. I have done well with my proteins (getting 60-90 per day), getting liquids in (getting 70-90 oz a day). I take all of my supplements (which obviously don't include potassium). Since starting full liquids and adding creamed soups to my diet I am getting between 600-850 calories per day. I am healing well and no nausea. However, I have been very weak and no energy to walk or do much. In the evenings I have heart palpitations. I noticed on MyFitnessPal that I am only getting between 550-850 mg per day in potassium and wondering if it could be a deficiency. I read that the avera…

Hey all, I was wondering if anyone has an opinion and, in turn, can give me some advice about these shakes. My sister's friend sells Plexus and she and her mom did the whole deal and then my sister recommended her/it to my mom -- who is an avid Advocare Vitamin user anyway -- and of course my mom wanted me to try it with her since the friend's mom supposedly had success with the Plexus and was able to stop taking her thyroid medicine (mentionable because I have hypothyroidism). I was skeptical. Naturally. I have my own list of attempted and failed diets and I really didn't want to add another to my list, but mom seemed really hopeful and it was coming from a source th…

What protein powder do you recommend? I'm hoping to find a tasteless powder I can mix with water/crystal light/etc. I've been doing protein shakes, I have whey protein that I mix with skim milk, and some of the Atkins premade shakes, but I'm not crazy about them. Any ideas on brands of powder? What's in your favorite protein shake?

I have heard from so many of you how great the Nectar Protein powder is, so I was super excited to get my sample pack in the mail. I mixed the Crystal Sky pack with 16 oz of water. Unfortunately the taste is horrible to me! It was hard to mix it for starters. When I tasted it, all I could taste was that strong protein taste. I cannot hardly get this down. Any suggestions??

But many times we just say, I like this one or this is one I can tolerate. 33. I remember liking the Bariatric Advantage Calcium chews, but I remember that I wasn't terribly fond of their regular Multivitamin chewables. That was 4 years ago, though, so they may have changed their formulation. Does anyone have any recommendations for chewable Multivitamins?

So I take now (since today) a multi, b 12, and Biotin Vitamin. When I went to the doctors I did blood work and she said I just been more Vitamin D. So I'm gonna add that soon. But I feel like every picture I see under the gastric sleeve hash tag on instagram everyone seems to be taking so many. Am I doing something wrong?

  35. Started by Jodie Perez,

I have not had my sleeve done yet and I am trying to figure out the Protein drinks. I have been using the EAS Complete Protein powder from Walmart, but in the bariatric book my Dr's office gave me it list powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury, Advantedge, whey Powder to name a few. The EAS has 25 grams of protein in 2 scoops. Is this a good one to be using it cost less than $20.00 per container?

  38. Hi Bariatric Pals - Can any of you recommend some budget friendly Protein shake brands that taste good but will give me the best bang for my buck? I've tried and like the Premier Protein shakes (available at costco & some Walmart's), but I am wondering if anyone has been able to find a good tasting Protein Shake or powder mix that is a little more cost effective? I need to be able to afford it but I also need to be able to choke it down, I haven't been liking most of the powdered mixes I've been trying. I usually use it as a snack between my 5:30 am breakfast and 12pm lunch. I know the doctor says no eating between meals but I'm a teacher and can't eat just when I want.
