Ok so I am on normal foods and can have Protein bars. I found a recipe to make my own! No baking! They smell like Reeces Peanut Butter Cups!! I will be able to try these later once they have chilled in the fridge for a bit! I think they look pretty yummy!!! Nutritional value: I can post the recipe if anyone wants it!

Hi! I get sleeved on March 30. Does anyone know what the difference is between whey protein drinks or egg white protein drinks. I enjoy already the Jay Robb's egg white protein (made with Stevia). It taste delicious (for a protein drink). Thanks!

  5. Hello! This may be weird, but thought I'd throw it out there. I'm 2 weeks post op and my husband purchased my Protein powder from my surgeon's office prior to discharge. I have a sealed unopened container of vanilla unjury that I would love to trade or give away only if I have to. (Dr.'s office cannot take it back even if it's still sealed. ) Anyone interested in a protein trade?

What's your favorite protein powder/flavor? I bought Isopure because I loved the bottled drinks and was disgusted! It is hard to purchase a large amount without trying it first.

has anyone bought the Isopure non flavored Protein powder? if so what types of food did you mix it with? I know what the doctors had said but I will like to here from some of yall on recipes. Surgery is less than 10 days away! thanks in advance for your help =)

Hey all, I just advanced to full liquids today and I'm trying to drink the protein shakes I did preop. Unfortunately, every time I try, I am overcome with waves of nausea (this is my 3rd attempt this evening). I've seen a lot of you post about unjury. What's the best flavor to try? Is unjury easier to digest? Has anyone else had issues with their protein shakes postop? Thanks again.

  10. I am really, really sensitive to the flavor of artificial sweeteners. Both the flavor and the aftertaste are pretty much intolerable for me. I'm trying to find Protein mixes or RTDs that are NOT sweetened with sucralose (Splenda). I've tried Jay Robb's stevia-sweetened mixes (both the egg white and they whey types), and they're definitely much better than the mixes I've tried with sucralose as the sweetener. Are there any others on the market?

What does everyone think about the Quest nutrition products? I see they have chips and Peanut Butter cups - seems too good to be true!!!

  12. i got off track over the holidays - eating and drinking the wrong things too much! I am pretty well back on track, but have been having diarhea so i thought to introduce Probiotics at the beginning of the year. I wondered if my gut flora was thrown out of balance by eating so badly. I noticed no change/improvement over nearly 3 weeks. I thought maybe those are old - so I bought new ones and will start them this week. Directions say to take one a day. I am curious what I should notice/ how can I tell if they are making any difference?

  13. Started by MamaTo3inNH,

I just got a bag of this, and it's quite $$$ so I don't want to waste it. Can you taste the supplement if you mix it with Water? I drink a bottle of water with benefiber per day and it is undetectable - I'm hoping the GENEPRO is too. TIA!

  14. I bought two cases and I can barely choke them down. I'm still pre-op and trying to find a good RTD Protein shake. Premier Protein seems to be most people's favorite and the nutrition stats are tough to beat.. But I can't stand them. I don't like the fake sweet taste. If you also don't like Premier Protein shakes, but have found a RTD shake you do like, please share! I like making my own protein shakes with Syntrax, but I know that I'll need some good RTD shakes for post-op. Any advice would be so much appreciated!

How many hours do you leave between things that can't absorb in one go (say, between each dose of calcium)? How about between things that don't absorb well together (like a multi with Iron and the next dose of calcium)? I get all my Vitamins in every day, but sometimes I lose track of time and find myself taking them probably too close together. I'm just not sure what "too close together" actually is, lol.

  16. Actually I like Syntrax chocolate truffle. I have also tried Unjury's sample pack and I find that their flavors leave an aftertaste that I don't like. I am looking for any and all recommendations for soy or whey Protein powders or shakes that are not blends. I bought Torani sugar-free caramel and Peanut Butter syrups that I can mix in with flavors. Have any of you ever used unflavored Protein powder in like Crystal light mixes before? Really hoping to get some good recommendations thanks for all your help. I Love this board it's been so helpful.

I have to get some plain yogurt today. Either kind (Greek or regular) will definitely make me gag, and mixing in baby food fruits or applesauce doesn't help. Has anyone ever mixed in flavored Protein powder? I'm nervous it will be some gross consistency? I don't want to test it out and pitentially waste it all. How do you spice up your yogurts? NUT said extracts are ok as well. Anyone use those?

I've been doing well with eggs, but I want another source of protein I've been researching some protein bars what is the best one out there? Post op, since our pouches can't really handle a whole supplement shake, can we make a whole one, stick it in the fridge and "pick at it" through out the day? Are there some brands that mix and sit better than others? Hubby thought maybe a premixed one?

I think I have most everything except Vitamins and I can't decide which ones to get. I'm considering these capsules because I've never been fond of chewable anything. I would appreciate your thoughts - what's your opinion of these vitamins? (I do realize I'll need Calcium citrate in addition to these vitamins.) Hello, Of all the Protein powders on the photo I posted, can you guys recommend what you think is the tastiest, or even if you think one is terrible, let me know! Im trying to avoid the trial and error! This is a list that my NUT gave me to get started on.

So my local Viatmin Shoppe, just came out with the new Quest line of whey isolate Protein shake mixes but they also have this new quest preotein baking mix, you can use it to bake muffins ( not that I would) breads ( again , a no no) cakes ( yeah cake lol )and pancakes. Now I know there are a lot of pancake protein recipes out there , has anyone tried this mix? If not I may have to be the guinea pig. Thankfully I just got my 10 dollar reward from Vitamin shoppe so that will help defray the cost of trying something that is potentially horrible. but who knows. If anyone has tried it, let me know what you think. Thank you! We can all do this!

I have been trying to get in touch with my nutritionist for the past few days and can't for the life of me do it. So I figured I would throw it out there to try to get some advice from the forum! I've seen so many people have success with drinking Premier Protein, I usually just buy whatever the person at GNC/Vitamin Shoppe recommends, but figured if it was working for so many people I would buy some. I have yet to try it because I am confused. I usually throw my Protein powder into my skinny latte from starbucks. Now with a Protein shake do you count it toward your Fluid, or do you count it as a Meal Replacement? When I put it into my skinny latte my nutritionist told me…

UGH! I think I'm allergic to Premier Protein shakes. I went to the store yesterday to pick up some more Protein powder. I usually pick up a few premade drinks to keep on hand as well. The store had the 4 pack of premier on sale so I decided to try it. Woke up this morning a little itchy but I thought it was just dry skin. Now I am in full on hives itching all over and the only new food I've had is those darn shakes. I haven't had trouble with hives since my surgery.

I just found something that is helping get my total Protein up! Amaranth grain. This is an easily digested grain that is gluten free and high protein. I have been fighting to get my serum protein level up and have weekly checks (because my level hovers around 6) and with the addition of this grain my level went from 6.1 to 6.7 this week! That may not seem like a big change but for me it is. Just thought I would share.

A week ago I started taking Green Source Vitamins with Whole food Concentrates. And I feel a noticeable difference in my energy and it lasts all day. Previously, I was taking the Sam's Club generic Multivitamin, and never seemed to notice when I didn't take it or skipped a day. The recommended dosage is 3 tablets a day - and they ain't small either! But they do make me feel good all day. Anyone else have experience using any brand of Whole Food Concentrate vitamins?

Just got approved by my insurance for this and wondering if the liquid Vitamins that Insure sends are all-encompassing or if you have to take additional Calcium, B-12 ,D, etc. I currently use Bariatric fusion chewables (2 in am, 2 in pm) that I buy from my surgeon, and I don't need any addiitonal calcium or other pills with those. Just wondering as there isn't much info about the liquid vitamins on Insure's site.

So I had tried my first Isopure beverage (grape) and I only had an egg with ham and cheese(3 hours before). So I'm pretty sure it was the isopure but 20 minutes being done the drink I felt nauseous and then I felt my back door knocking and I ran to the bathroom... Thoughts? I'm a month out and this is the second time my sleeve didn't seem to like something. The first time I ate a mango and ran to the bathroom. Anyone else have an issue with this drink?

  49. For people who use the Musclegen GENEPRO powder, what do you mix it with? juice? I get mine in the mail today and I want to be all set to start it tonight or in the morning. I am newly sleeved (2.5 weeks post op) and I have a volume issue. I am wondering if I can dissolve it in maybe like a 1/2 cup or cup of juice and not taste it. Oh, and does it have a particular smell to it? I have had a bad issue with Protein drink smells lately.
