Hi Everyone, Just a thought I needed to say! I have seen quite a few things about people regaining some of their weight back after reaching their goal weight. We all have worked hard to make some lifestyle changes by using our tool that we got because of weight loss surgery. These are good habits. But like one person said it is so easy to slip back into the BAD habits if we don’t watch what we are doing. I have work long and hard to be where I am through making lifestyle changes and developing GOOD HABITS. It would be easy to slip back into the old and BAD habits. I want what I have now more than to go back to the BAD habits. I also developed a GOOD HABIT of exer…

  4. Started by Sharonisshrinking,

Okay, so maybe I'm jumping the gun here, but I was sleeved one week ago tomorrow. Apart from losing the four pounds I gained in the hospital, I have lost......wait for it........1POUND! Am I doing this wrong? I'm working hard on my protein and staying hydrated. I'm walking 15 to 20 minutes a day. Help! I lost 50 pre op. but only one pound post.

Just got my surgery date......12/19. I know, it seems crazy to do this right before X-Mas but for work it is a no brainer. Starting to research and plan my menu. At this point all I can think about is getting this journey with my new tool started.

  6. Started by wendy88,

Running out of patience. I know I am only 5 weeks post op but I've only lost 21#. Realistically I know better, but subconsciously I expected to 1- have surgery 2- spend a couple of weeks recovering 3- get on the scale and be down 100#. Guess what? That didn't happen.

Went for initial consult on Friday the 9th. Received insurance approval today for my Lap Band removal surgery. Will be done as an outpatient. Last two lap band surgeries totaled 7 days in icu. So we shall see. Either way the ball is certainly rolling. I will being unbanded in the first week of January. That way my ins deductible wont have to be repaid for the sleeve. I was told that my approval for the sleeve should be a synch. I hope so. Can you work the day after removal of the band?

Long story short I am scheduled for my surgery on Nov. 6th. I am very excited about it but I am also very worried but not for the obvious reasons. My husband and I have struggled with our weight together our entire relationship (8 yrs.). We have tried to diet just about the entire time and always have failed. Now that I am having my sleeve done I am so excited and I feel like I finally have hope that I wont be this way forever. One of my main concerns is that my husband is clueless about the surgery and what I will be going through. I feel like he has no idea what I am about to experience. I encourage him to research stuff with me and become educated about this pr…

Hey guys, I have diabetes and was hoping that the band would alleviate that once I lost weight. Well, In 3 years now I have only lost 48 lbs and have regained 8 of those back. I still have diabetes and I'm not a spring chicken sort of speak. Does anyone else Have/Had diabetes that wasn't corrected with the band? If so, Have your diabetes improve after sleeve? I need to stop being a chicken and do something NOW!

  22. The office coordinator called and said she just finished reviewing my entire file and its ready to go to Aetna. The note from my PCP on 7/30 is comprehensive enough to consider it my 90 day start. All she needs is the notes from the surgeon which she will get after I meet with him tomorrow. Package will be faxed tomorrow afternoon. Usually takes 1-3 weeks for approval. Tentative (assuming ins. approval) surgery date is December 18. Shut up and be happy, right? I shouldn't even think about the fact that I called the other coordinator over a month ago to ask if maybe the July date could be used and she CHECKED and told me no, we have to go with my appt. there on…

I was sleeved 8/4. Since my surgery I have lost 50lbs. Sadly, it has been due to the fact that I continue to have complications. I am looking for some advice. On any given day, I probably take in between 100-200 calories at the most, only sometimes getting protein. I do try to eat and drink my protein, but after 2 or more hours in my stomach, I will vomit everything up, undigested. I've been to see my surgeon many times. He put me on Reglan, and I am only able to take a half dose once a day because I am a teacher and I have found that taking any more makes it so I cannot concentrate and my students are losing out. Even with the Reglan, I'm still vomiting. I vomit every s…

I had my surgery on 9/24. I have had a lot of problems with dehydration since I had the surgery. I wound up in the emergency room twice. I have stayed out for over a month now, but I am still not getting in enough water. Just recently I have noticed that getting in water is becoming even more difficult as my stomach feels like it is filling up with air. I am burping and it gets worse when I drink. This is making drinking very uncomfortable. Did anyone else have this problem and how did you solve it? I really don't want to wind up in the hospital again!

I have yet to have my surgery and now that I am getting ready to choose my date and pay my deposit (Self pay in Mexico)...I am getting fearful. Not necessarily of the procedure, but life afterwards. I have been obese my entire life and figured that yo-yo dieting would always be my story...with unsuccessful results. But now having this procedure is really real and I am scared. I want to be healthy, but how will I look? Will I like how the smaller me look? Will I lose friends along the way? Will I become obsessed with losing weight? Will people treat me differently? So many questions that I am not able to answer are floating through my mind? Some that I never thought was ev…

I was sleeved July 30. So 3ish months. I see my nutritionist next week. I lost 30kgs as the gym before surgery. I've since lost another 14. But a few weeks ago I discovered I could eat chocolate way to easily now I've developed a carving/habit for a chocolate each day. I haven't lost any weight in 2 weeks and I have started to move from the freddo frogs to the normal sized bar. I know it's wrong but I feel like I've been dieting on and off for 18 yrs and this is the first time I haven't had to "worrie" about putting on weight. You know, I just want a break but I k ow its a excuse. So help!!!!

The kids were pretty still distant. Sure it is awkward for them. Just wanted to ask u to keep us in your thoughts. Thanks in advance.

Am trying to not be so obsessed but everything I do makes me think about the 14th. I've only recently decided this was right for me. I can't image how it must feel to wait forever for insurance companies. Guess that's the only perk of being a self pay. I'm sure I'm not the only obsessed one out there.

I seriously ate to much junk this weekend. ( I'm re-starting liquid diet tomorrow to help me get back on track). My question is after I ate a piece of cake it made me so sick. It upset my stomach, it made me "dump", heart was racing, headache, felt like blood pressure high, tongue & lips tingling. I just felt awful. Of course, I'm not used to that much sugar anymore but do you think it could be diabetes? I was never diagnosed with diabetes before but I never had trouble handling sugar like that. Anyone have any answers? Is it because my stomach is smaller and it hits your system faster?

  36. hi again, so my date is coming really soon. starting december 1st i will start 6 weeks of a liquid diet. i am trying hard to lose weight and exercise now. i want to be as ready and as healthy as possible. i want to shrink my liver and work extra hard because my biggest fear overall is death. new concerns are leaks and blood-clots. how long after surgery do i need to worry about clots forming and leaks?? when will i know i am 100% ok and healed. is it the 1 month marker ? any additional help and tips is greatly appreciated. thank you

I am a QSR restaurant manager and am wondering when I can expect to go back to work... no surgery date set yet, just completed my sleep study. I am hoping for the week after Turkey Day. I work 10 hour shifts and am on my feet the whole time. Anyone out there who also manages a QSR restaurant...? What should I expect when I return to work..?? I was originally told 2 weeks...now I am hearing 3-4 weeks... I do not have STDL and really can not afford to take so much time off... But I do not want that to be a reason for me to regret my choice to have surgery.

I remember hitting my head on the door frame, after that I also managed to hit my shoulder, knee, and twist my mid-back. I hit the floor and regained conciousness right away with my dogs licking my face! What a shocker ! I went to the Dr's later that day & told him what had been happening with the dizziness & the fainting that morning. He c…
