I messed up and ate some fried chicken strips and French fries. I got a pain like I was having a heart attack and it lasted for 2 hours. This is the 2nd time this has happened. After eating bad food. Anyone else experience this. The pain level was close to a 10 . I think it was heartburn but I'm not sure what it was. Anyone have this and when they do get it what do they do to take care of it.

Hi everybody, I've been lurking on the boards for so long that I felt it was time to come out of hiding and say how much inspiration you've all given to me without knowing it. You are a great source of information, comfort, and camaraderie -- it feels wonderful to know that I'm not alone. My real name is Michele. I'm originally from St. Louis, MO but I've been living in the Houston area (The Woodlands to be more exact) for 14 years. I'm 49 years old and I have a host of problems that I hope are going to be greatly improved by the surgery -- diabetes, high blood pressure, low thyroid, high cholesterol. Diabetes is the main one. My mom was about 100 lbs. overweight and …

My weight loss journey began the day I waked out of the initial seminar. That was on Sept. 27th, 2012. I met with my surgeon on Oct 12th and then had my first Nutritionist appt on Oct 15th. I then had my first Psych evaluation on Oct 29th followed by my final Psych eval on Nov 5th. Later in the day on Nov 5th, I had my EKG, Chest X-Ray, Bloodwork, and Gallbladder Ultrasound done. On Nov 19th, I had my final Nutritionist appt. I have a Cardiologist appt scheduled for this Monday and then later that same afternoon, I meet with the Nurse Practitioner. The only things I have left to do are my 3 workshops and they are scheduled for Dec 3rd, Dec 10th and Dec 17th. I find out m…

This is a TRUE story --- it's not a scam or a joke. The mother of this girl is an active poster on MFP (PlumCrazyGirl). Kimberly is 15 years old and attended high school in Tabernacle NJ. She ran away from a youth residential facility located in Trenton NJ on Friday, 11/16/2012 . It wasn't until Monday 11/19/2012 when the social worker informed her mother of the disappearance. She is approximately 5ft 6", 125-130lbs, long dark hair and blue eyes. We are reaching out to all social media sites we can for awareness. Your prayers for her safety and return is most appreciated. Thank you.

O.M.G. I am so amazed! It's been 6 weeks since my doc's office submitted to insurance. I was certain, after reading so many posts, that it taking this long meant it was going to be denied. I'M APPROVED! My surgery date is January 14th, with Dr. David Kim. He did my band, too. He is a wonderful surgeon. His office is the best. And I am thrilled to finally be moving forward. I was banded in March of 2010. I was in love with my band for 6 months. I lost 65 lbs. Started at 282. Onederland was in sight. Then the rollercoaster began. I got too tight. Got several small unfills. Gained some back. Started filling again. And every time I started filling again, …

BUT, I shall remain a lady and be calm...I am absolutely livid at the fact that I am EXACTLY 8 weeks tomorrow and I know it's Thanksgiving, but this has been going on for 9 weeks now (1 week pre-op) I have discussed this several times with my husband about us changing our eating habits together. Pre-op was hell week for me because I had to fight my own self with cravings and still had to watch my husband eat whatever he wanted. I am so hurt and sad right now I want to cry, but I won't cause I just don't feel like talking about it again, when I feel so angry as well. He just came in with 2 bags of chips, 2 packs of cookies, and a pecan pie. I didn't say anything, but he sa…

I am btwn 3 & 4 weeks out. I would like to look polished in my clothes. I've always been big on shapewear and supportive undergarments. I've tried to put them on but my stomach is still too tender and painful to be bound so tightly. Does anyone know from experience when will this get better? I know I'm still healing and that's the important thing... I am just curious. I miss my Spanx!

Hello everyone. So I'm going on week 8 post op and today I start solid foods. I don't know how the transition will be from mushies to solids but I do know that I'm not as hung up on eating as I was a couple weeks ago. With that said, I am still worried because in the past the holidays use to mean eating a lot of food and being lazy. This year I plan to stick to my workout regime but as far as food goes, I'm worried I might over indulge. So my question is this, what are some tactics to use in order to not slip up? Does anyone have a advice? I'm looking to stay on the right track.

Since my surgery it has hurt me to laugh so I just tried not to as much as possible well tonight I think it all caught up with me. I couldn't control it and man did it HURT! this may sound cheesy but when will I be able to laugh again? How long does it normally take for that big incision to heal?

Hi, In the last year since my weight has been at its highest, my husband tells me I have been snoring pretty badly and keeping him up at night. He will often wake me up to tell me. Tonight, he got upset and decided he is just going to stay up all night and is now on his computer. I have tried a mouthguard and another thing that goes in your nose. They are uncomfortable, and don't seem to help based on his report. I have also started sleeping on my side, facing away from him. I have gone for a sleep study and they did not find any sleep apnea. My surgery is scheduled for 12/11 ( thank goodness!) I am hoping that as I lose weight, the snoring will go away. Has anyone els…

Hi there, My name is Melissa and I am 28yrs old from Charlotte, NC. This is all brand new to me. I don't even really know where to start. I don't know if I should talk about myself or the self that pertains to my weight. I guess I will start with the weight part. I think back to my first memory ever in life. I wonder if there was ever a time I could remember not being overweight. I honestly can't think of a time. All of my life my weight has been a factor in some way or another. I remembered being picked on as a child because of my weight. I remember always comparing myself to my classmates. Not feeling pretty enough. This continued all through high school and through my…

Hi All, In the past I have begged for help with ideas for my diahhrea...I now have the answer. I'm 5 months out of band to sleeve conversion. I have had diahhrea for all that time. Not enough to keep me at home at first but lately yes. I was told " watery in watery out " meaning no solid food and no solid you know what. Next it was "you eat too much or too fast", no results there. Next is was my gall bladder, so I had it out ( I did have stones). Next it was "lactose intolerant" so I tried that...no change. Next "gluten free"...no change. All this time I kept asking if I caught a "bug" and I had antibiotics about 6 weeks after surgery for a sinus infection. G…

Good Morning VSTer's! I can't believe that it's been almost two years since I've been on this page! I actually didn't know where to post this topic, so I figured, the general forum would be the place to post. I feel like a newbie all over again. I've been basically going at this alone with the support of family and a few close friends as well as some through FB (Lil Miss Diva is a ROCKSTAR on FB!!). I've been moving slowly through trial and error. Anyway, this morning, I received an email stating that my signature was modified, which prompted me to login and see what was going on. Boy was I reintroduced to such a great resource! I had totally forgotten that this was…

I have had my lapband since 2005. My starting weight was 230, my lowest weight was 174 (lasted about a month) and now I am at 265! My band is unfilled because I never felt full. I just felt pain when I ate (unless it was soft foods or liquids)...this was no way to live. I had a unfill and found out my port is tilted (most painful adjustment ever!!). I really want to lose weight and live a fuller life! I have been researching the sleeve and am hoping it will work for me! Any help with these questions is MUCH appreciated! -I read a lot of people saying sleeve doesnt work after having a lapband :/ is this true? I am SO scared of making a wrong choice -Is it possible to h…

I'm 4.5 months out & find myself getting discouraged occasionally but have had some incredible moments & I'm writing them down to come back to on my "I'm making no headway" days!! Since 06/18/12 (start my 10 diet) I've lost 87 lbs & 55.5 inches! Bras at Lane Bryant didn't come small enough so I went to Victoria Secret to make my first purchase there ever! I bought a cute outfit that the mannequin was wearing at Old Navy (after grabbing the XXL & finding I could really wear the XL)! I can cross my legs. I can easily see my collar bones! My whole family is now healthier (my hubby lost 50 lbs just being supportive & eating what I eat)! We ar…
