I am 2 weeks out but still have pain getting out of bed or sitting on a chair, is that normal and how long can I expect it to last

As of now, I have only heard back from 3 people with a yes to our meeting on Saturday so there will be 4 including me. The other 3 are: Jacqi, Toni, and Amanda B. Also, I joined a weekly support group at Baylor Plano run by a psychologist and met a girl there who said she'd love to come too so we may have 5 of us there. I have been with my husband for almost 15 years and for most of that time my husband has never been able to pick me up without looking like he was about to die! Well today after we got home from work out of the blue he picked me up:). AND he didn't act like he was break in half. The little things that come from having the sleeve are really making me so happy I got the sleeve:). Just thought I would share

I am so ready for my surgery date i cannot stand it anymore. Im not happy being overweight/fat. Im not confident at all in my body and it's driving me crazy i feel like my WLS is the only thing on my mind all day long and it's all i think about and i am ALWAYS bringing it up and talking about it!!! ugh. For the past few days I've been drinking fluids in the evening and I feel burning almost all the way to my throat. I take a daily zantac but it seems that after it wears off I feel this burning when drinking water! Anyone experience this before?? hugs,<br />alma

Tomorrow I will be 3 weeks post up and still not feeling great. I did have some complications and after my two week postop checkup figured out my blood pressure was so low and was causing my excessive dizziness. After adjusting meds I can finally stand on my feet without feeling faint. But now the dry heaves have begun! They can happen in a flash and it is so frustrating not to mention my husband says I am mentally causing all of my symptoms. He was supportive at first, now I feel alone. My closest family is 2000 miles away. Just want to rewind time and take back the surgery and trying so hard not to feel sorry for myself, but no success.

Hi, I am 28yrs old from North New Jersey. My current weight is 289 5ft 10in BMI 41.5. I will be going on my 3rd preop visit to the nutritionist. I must admit I am nervous n a bit scared. This would be my first surgery ever. Also, some of my friends don't approve of my doing this "drastic" decision. They feel I look good as is. Also I know I don't look that huge but I feel it and I sure am if my BMI is 40 and above. What do you guys think? Also will I ever regret this procedure? I mean will there be good results? Hey yall I had surgery on the 26th of November and have been home three days now only on liquids. I had a really bad herniated esophagus so I will be on liquids for a month. Well for some reason I feel like there is something stuck in my chest like if i could just throw it up I would be okay but its not coming up. Hello everyone. I'm about 12mths out for surgery. My insurance mandates me to participate in their 12mth weight coaching program. I started in August, so by next August it will be getting more real. I joined the coaching program just to see if having those extra benefits would help me lose weight on my own. I would like you all to give me some honest feedback on whether I am a suitable candidate for VSG. I feel that others I might ask have a strong bias one way or other --> The doctors are all for it as after all it is what they are selling. Already bought my three-day passes. I'm starting to think about how to plan meals. Other than bringing my own, I don't think there are a lot of good options. I don't mind eating Protein Bars and shakes for a few days. I'm staying in a hotel without a restaurant, and I don't really want to buy the expensive food at the convention. Anyone else going? Saw a new surgeon today and I've decided to move forward with a revision to the sleeve. My band does indeed have a leak, although I knew that already. Had the rest of the liquid removed and I was amazed at how much better I felt. I didn't realize I was that uncomfortable until it was all gone. I'm ready to get his stupid thing out. Well, i am sleeved. Had surgery on Nov 28, past Wednesday. Came home today. In a lot of pain and taking pain meds every four hours. I sure hope I don't get dehydrated because I can not seem to drink enough liquids. They had me on a bag of stuff in the hospital and I was keeping hydrated. Does everyone have to have this test?

Doing absolutely everything I have been told to do and failing. Sleeved oct 8th so six weeks ago at 280. Down to 256 but 17 of the 24 was the first 2 weeks. Getting 60-80 g protein 50-60 water. Calories 600-700 carbs under 20. Walking daily. I give up. If I cant loose doing everything they said to do why even try anymore?

I had a band and lost 40lbs but was always slimming and was disappointed with my weight loss. So, I had a revision to the sleeve. At first I lost 12 lbs, and then stopped dead. I followed the diet, exercised intermittanly but still didnt lose. The nutritionist where I had surgery had me take Metformin as I take anti-psychotic meds and they are known to cause weight gain. It didnt work. I have been in touch with the doctor that did my revision and he feels the problem was due to too much scare tissue from the band.He has only had this happen one other time. I know we are not supposed to drink carbonated drinks since it can add gas and fill up your stomach and might stretch it out (or at least it might stretch out the pouch on a gastric bypass - there seems to be a question about if it is possible to stretch out the sleeve very much). Over 8 months out and I've been a very good girl. I've only had the slimes twices, and have not thrown up since surgery. I almost never take one bite too many. I obey "the gurgle" which is my warning sign to stop. Except last night... as a 50+ person considering sleeve, what should I know and what do you wish you had known before your procedure?

I know that seems like an odd question. But all I read on here are these super positive stories of people the sleeve has worked for. Well, here I am two weeks post op and I lost 13 pounds. But I have been stalled for 4 days. I started at199 and now am 185.5. i am doing everything you all say; 700 calories a day, 65g protein, under 30g carbs; 64oz water; right now I am still in liquids. What I can't figure out is how I can go from consuming over 2000 calories a day (pre op) to less than 700 and not lose weight. I feel so discouraged....thoughts?

First off, there is no way I am pregnant, none. Second, I have had several bouts over the last few weeks of vomiting yellow bile about an hour after waking up. When I did it today I noticed traces of bright red blood. I googled this and it said that this can be a result of damage to the pyloric valve after gastric surgery, specifically gastrectomy. I am over 2 years out and this has never happened before and of course, I do not have insurance right now (long story). So, it has been about 20 minutes since the vomiting which by the way tasted like horrible chemicals, and there is a dull ache in my stomach pouch area. Help!

I have only till the 12th to lose 10lbs before my surgery so I'm starting my self on a liquid diet. My Dr said 1week before surgery but I'm hope a few more days wont hurt. What are you all doing for liquid diets???

Hi All- I'm new to the site- I was leaning towards a band, but during my pre-op consult I mentioned to my surgeon that I have Eosinphyllic Esophagitis- basically my esophagus will spasm and I'll get food stuck in my throat (only happens with certain foods, happens only about once a week or so). I was given a presription for it when I was diagnosed about a year ago, but it doesnt happen so often, and I'm able to push food down with a piece of bread, so I stopped taking the prescription. i am a insulin dependant type one diabetic who is on an insulin pump and i am going to have the gastric sleeve done here in the next few months. i am very concern about my blood sugars and what will happen if my blood sugars drop after the surgery, with no being to eat a lot and no sugar how do you handle the low blood sugars. When I made the decision to get sleeved, I put a fleece before The Lord and said if it got done this year it would be with his blessing. Now my surgeons office said they were all booked for this year. I did all the classes and all the appointments required, even lost 27lbs. So a lot has happened in the nearly 2 years since my operation, I've lost 170+ pounds, changed my life, got my health back and changed so much I hardly recognize myself. Well, I still have a long way to go until I hit my first true goal, which is my lowest weight with the lap-band being 214. However, I had my revision surgery on September 17th. My start weight was 312, Surgery Weight 293, Current weight 256. That is over 50 pounds lost and I am extremely happy with my progress. I feel better physically already. For instance, my feet, ankles and knees are no longer throbbing and my engery level is finally starting to increase. I bought the nectar And I tried it in a 20oz. Bottle o water and it separated. I had to shake it up several times. I don't like it. I need the extra protein it's hard to get 60 grams when you only eat a small portion. Any suggestions ????
