Recommended Posts

I am so ready for my surgery date i cannot stand it anymore. Im not happy being overweight/fat. Im not confident at all in my body and it's driving me crazy i feel like my WLS is the only thing on my mind all day long and it's all i think about and i am ALWAYS bringing it up and talking about it!!! ugh. Anyone else feel like this?

Went to my work christmas party tonight and felt so uncomfortable in what i was wearing and just felt out of place not at all confident i hope this is something i can resolve with surgery. I feel like my weight is holding me back from being the outgoing/fun young girl that i know i am. :(

Maybe, iam just having a pitty party but cmon DECEMBER 21ST!!!!

Oh girl, I feel exactly like this and mine is not til 1/14. I am terrified of Christmas parties and our annual cookie baking with the family. I have only told a few very close friends and no family (outside hubby) that I am having this. I am not ready for the oh, you are not fat, you can loose weight if you really wanted. So hang in there young lady and let me know how things go for you.

I am super excited and super anxious. I started buying baby food yesterday for post op, so I can see what I like before surgery. My hubby is helping by joking around, but I cannot get it off my mind either!

Good luck to us all, we deserve our elation!

I had my sleeve done on Aug 1/12. Before that I use to hate going to functions, always felt uncomfortable. But since then I am not afraid. I do feel more confident and I am not worried about people staring at my gut. Just remember that the surgery is just the beginning. It is not the quick fix some people think it is. You will lose the weight but the trick is to keep it off. Follow the program. Why go through this whole process to just go back and do the things you were doing before. I am glad I did this and I feel great. Good Luck on the 21st and keep coming back to the site. I just joined and I am enjoying reading everyone's threads.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
