  4. I am 56 and it makes almost a year now... best thing I have done for myself... loving life and loving my sleeve... I still am in the process and have not reached my goal but I know I will... 70 lbs.. gone... and loving life...
  5. I am 56 and had sleeve done last April .... I am down 70 lbs and loving life again.... is it work ... yes.. is it worth it... yes... I did it so I will be around a while for my grand kids... I am feeling more spry every day... and eating as returned to normal except I eat way less to get full... and you will feel full and not hungry all the time... I still get hungry when its time to eat but you feel satisfied quickly... I am hoping to lose more and reach goal by my one year check up... but so far I am loving my sleeve I say go for it... my hubby is older than me by 9 years... so 65... he was type 2 diabetic and on insulin plus so many more drugs... he has not taken insulin since the day of the operation.... he has lost 100 lbs... since August... and he is off the oxygen that he was on 24/7... OMG... this is a Miracle operation ... I must say... I am praying he continues on this journey with his sleeve and does well... but all your doubts are normal... we all go thru this... back & forth kinda should I ... maybe I'm not that bad.... I look at pictures of us now when we were at our heaviest and wonder why I hesitated or thought that way... it has given us our lives back ...

  7. hi ... I am from maine... and would love to chat had sleeve 8 months ago... ann
  8. its good to hear from you all and know that I am not alone in this journey... I understand what you are all saying... and yes working the sleeve... and keeping a food diary is important, and exercise no matter if the weather is turning cold and the days short... I bought a treadmill for $50... lol it works fine so I am going to give that a whirl when the days are too cold and too short... I was at 184.9 ... what a tease this morning... I weigh only once a week... I am going to try to up my protein and cool it on those foods that go down so easy... usually carbs... I too struggle with the denser meats.... I have lots and lots of NSV... I think if I reach a size 10 I will def. have broken my sabotaging ways... lol never been below a 14 in my life.... so I am treading new ground...

  12. I am at the 6 month mark.... down 65 lbs. and in a size 14 from a size 20.... I am excited about the weight loss but have hit a few stalls along the way... one long one before hitting One-derland and now at 187 ... 185 now.... this is my question... any other diet that I have done in the past, I would be freaking out and sabotaging my diet at this point... its almost like I can't believe I can get smaller than this ... anyone ever go thru this before? and how do I stay on task... I noticed I am slacking on my food diary and exercise... advice, words of wisdom... a kick in the a$$... anything would be much appreciated.... ann
  13. I did the same thing at 206.... what got me going was to increase my exercise intensity.... started interval jogging instead of just walking..... it started moving again... down to 185 now... and at a stall again... trying to think what I can do now to up my game
  14. I am interested in your f/b group I was sleeved in April 8 and my hubby Aug 5...we need all the support we can get

  16. I was sleeved on April 8... and did great until about a month ago... was down 40 lbs... now I am down 42 lbs... omg... I am so stuck it seems... I am doing what I should food wise and exercise ... the NSV are off the wall... crossing my legs again down to size 16 from a 20-22.... energy levels,,, clothes fit... given away alot of my big clothes.... no hunger really... the list goes on... now what's wrong with the scale??? lol I seem to being going thru the change since I have skipped 2 months... so I keep telling myself Be Patient...it will come off.... any advice or insights... or is anyone else stalled like me???? who said this would be easy???
  17. I am a high school librarian... 9-12... used to teach Reading Recovery to 1st graders... I was sleeved April 8 and in 3 months, I am down 45 lbs.... I am a very happy camper and have no issues... I did do it during my spring break too but took 2 weeks... one week off sick days... I am very glad I took 2 weeks... just because I was kinda dozing often while on the meds and sore and my clothes were hard to tolerate because of the way they did my stitices... staples... clothes were catching on my staples ... I think that was the worst.... I have no idea why they used staples but I was very very glad when they were removed... I recommend 2 weeks ... just from my own experience... and I love my sleeve and love the idea of educators group...

  21. I went to look and couldn 't find... you sure about the name??? ann
  22. I am just a year older than you and had the op april 8... I am down 42 lbs.... its the best thing that I have ever done for myself.... no more Mrs. Doubtfire trying to fit into my clothes... lol... (I say that because in this pic, I felt like mrs. doubtfire... my son's wedding .. .I had more girdles on to try to fit into something decent... very uncomfortable day) I am not where I want to be yet but at least now I have hope that I can reach my goal.... and maintain it... my yo-yo diets throughout my life have made my metabolism sluggish... so seeing the numbers go down, make me smile... I smile alot more now... I wonder why?
  23. you have done great ... you look happier too and that's what counts...
  24. I was sleeved on April 8th... I started at 252 and now am at 217... a 35 lb. loss... YIPEE... I feel good and walk almost every day... except when it rains... lol which happened most of last weekend... I feel alot better when I get my walk in... I had 5 incisions... one for a hiatal hernia they fixed and 4 for the sleeve... they have healed well...only feel them if I stretch too much or try to do too much hard work... lol I do get tired at end of day (after a day at work)... I eat a little something and nap .. then I am ok again... lol maybe its my age... lol
  25. I have been overweight all my life... as a child and now I am 55 and finally I have found a solution... my sleeve is the greatest tool and gift I could give to myself... I started at 252 just a little under 2 months now... and I am 217 and the going down... I should have done this years ago... I did a lot of research and I am totally sold on the sleeve... would do it again in a minute... my recovery was fast and the weight loss heavenly.... I am down 2 sizes ... OMG>.. do it for yourself... you are a pretty young girl... you deserve to have a great life without your weight dragging you down... I speak from experience...
