I am 9 days after surgery and I’m experiencing an odd pain. Has anyone experienced a right lower back pain as soon as you drink your liquids?

  2. I just bought my multi-vitamin (required to have folic acid of 400mcg, iron of 18 mg, zinc, copper and selenium and B12 500 mcg) and my calcium citrate (required to have 1200-1500 mg) for $20. I got the Opurity calcium-citrate plus chewable from unjury.com and the multi-vitamin from Amazon, the Pro Care Health Bariatric Multivitamin for $20. Is there somewhere out there that has all of this that is easier on the pocketbook?

That your health insurance may have a fitness reimbursement program as well as weight loss support program? I just finished setting up insurance for our employees for the first time at the company i work at. ( Small Business). The Insurance is United Health Care. The insurance has two riders included in the cost. Real Appeal and Simply Engaged.... Both of these provide something to the employee. The real appeal is the weight loss support group, but the simply engaged will reimburse 20 bucks a month from your gym membership if you go to the gym more than 12 times a month. I am super excited about both of these things that are offered. I figured if our compan…

I joined the November Hydration Challenge (yeah, you read that right) started by @GreenTealael...and the struggle was real (45oz pure water, minimum of 90 oz/day)...until today...two months later!! I did it! I feel so accomplished. ?? Unfortunately, this was me at work today...

Met up with an old friend today and he told me that he was approved for his Gastric Sleeve Surgery. His surgery will be done within two weeks. As we were talking he asked me if I liked his new winter coat that his wife bought him for Christmas. I told him that it was nice and asked if he could return it. A puzzled look went over his face. He asked me why would I ask if he could return it. I told him by Winters end he will not be needing a 2XL sized coat. I told him that in all probability he will be at a large by next year and will need to buy a new coat. It didn't dawn on him that he would no longer be at this size for long. He told me that he got a lot of new clothes fo…

My number one issue so far.. at 6 weeks post op, just started recently as i am adding new food to the plan and can now eat real foods. My issue and struggle is the time between bites. I tend to eat bite after bite and then by bite 3.. i cannot handle anymore. I have counted the bites before swallowing, and somebody recommended on one of the threads the bariastic app.. I have tried that and the timer is for chewing. I have a timer on my phone and could resort to that also. Most of the time when at work i am fine because i dont ever actually take a lunch break. I eat while working and so that helps to space out the bites. My issue is more when i am home. I sit down at the t…

I'm just over 10 weeks post-op and have gastroenteritis. Luckily the stomach cramps haven't been too bad, but they still hurt my poor, tiny tummy. I'm doing my best to keep drinking fluids, but even water makes my stomach cramp. I was able to get a banana and 1 T of peanut butter down over about 2.5 hours. I think that's all I'll get in today for food, so I'm going to focus on water and even some protein water. I've lost a couple pounds since this morning which is pure fluids from the diarrhea. I don't want to end up on an IV for fluid loss! Hoping this lets up tomorrow. In the past it's generally lasted about 24 hours, with another day or two of a sensitive …

I would appreciate it if any of you can answer the following: 1) How many oz of water can you drink in 1 setting 2) How much were you able to drink before the sleeve? 3) How far out are you since surgery? I ask these things because I genuinely love to drink water and just want to have an estimate on the amount I will be able to drink after surgery. THank You!

Hey everyone! I’ve been on Metoprolol for 7 years now, I take 50mg twice a day. Has anyone been on Metoprolol before and stopped taking it after surgery due to the weightloss? I’ve heard its kinda hard to come off it because you can have side effects like heart palpitations etc. Have any of you ever felt that? Would love to hear any answers...thanks

Hey guys I'm currently on my 3rd day of my liquid diet and was wondering does anyone have a tip for good protein shakes? I'm doing the fusion powder ones where you add lactaid milk to it and it has been getting me sick and making my stomach hurt. I'm doing everything else with no problem, but it's the protein. I'd appreciate it. T-minus 12 days til my surgery

  27. Pre-order for Blood work, urinalysis and xrays were requested by my doctor today since I have xtra surgeries. My dang fibromyalgia with stress knots and all the meds along with hiatal hernia. So I get to Drive an hour in and an hour back. Then do it again at 6am Friday morning. Argghhh... Trying not to stress much.. still trying to figure out how the heck im going to get my daily meds down. Eight pills, eeekkk... hoping my surgery eliminates five of them at least. Does anyone use patch vitamins. Thinking of trying them for the first month so I don't have more pills to add. I take a chewable now. Well, gotta go take meds and try and rest.

  31. Let me start this thread by first apologizing if it is too straight forward. I know we all need support including myself and we are all here for support, to get to know one another, and to be there to pick one another up when we fall. Gastric Surgery is a life changing surgery! It will change the rest of your life for the rest of your life. It is a physical change to your inner workings of your body.. and ONLY your body. It does not change how we deal with food. It does not change how we choose to eat. A choice is a choice that solely rests on our shoulders. Our stomach was changed on the inside to restrict the amount of food we can consume at one time. That is it!! …

Hey everyone. I am 6 weeks post op. I did great the first month losing 28 pounds. But I am not losing any weight and I’m scared and frustrated. I’m at 32lbs and have not moved. I even think I gained 2 pounds. I have only been drinking protein shakes for the most part. Some times I eat eggs when I can stand it. But protein shakes seem to be the only thing I can handle. Especially since back at work. I haven’t gone to the gym yet but I’m on my feet at work for 10 or more hours and I walk on my 30 min lunch break and have been doing exercise videos a couple days. Do I need to exercise more ? What am I doing wrong. ?

Tomorrow marks eight weeks since I've had my surgery. I'm down 60 pounds. That number seemed huge to me this morning, whereas the ones before it were a little surreal. But 60 pounds? That's a second grader! My face is looking like my face again. I'm super tall, so 60 pounds on me looks like less than a smaller woman. Here I am in all my dirty hair, makeup-less glory...

  41. Started by Aran1030,

4 weeks post op . I had a hiatal hernia I was not aware of at the time of my surgery and my surgeon fixed it while I was getting my sleeve. Well, I have no idea what happened but since my surgery I get acid reflux / heartburn (I don’t know which it is ) everyday at some point in the day. Not sure what causes it. I have a Doctor appointment Monday. But first how do I know which it is or is it both ? And most importantly..... is it going to go away. I’m so sad and discouraged ! I don’t look forward to such an uncomfortable feeling. HELP ! Anyone else had this ? hw: 246 sw: 235 cw: 215 gw: ? Sleeved :Dec 19, 2017

So I'm 7 days out, just starting purees today. Had to pop in at a work party and of course there was NO food I could eat. I did down a yogurt before I went, but sitting there with food in my face became a THING! So I dipped celery into a smooth dip. And it was good. So I did that several times. Still good. Fast forward 45 minutes until I arrived home and guess what?? Out she goes! I didn't think about the fat content that might have been in ranch dip, I thought, oh well, similar to yogurt, probs has protein, I should be good. Pouchie says "That's a no from me Dawg!!!"

Today I am one week post op. I feel more nauseous than anything. I try to relieve it with burping but its starting to disgust me. Today I stood on the scale at 266.0. makes me happy. But this has been a long road. I really really regret it. I am 18 pounds down. I need to stay away from the scale. The protein shakes make me feel sick to my stomach. My me maw made me some chicken broth. I also got a couple pints of low sodium chicken broth from Walmart. But it does me no justice. Its nasty. Its like my taste buds are different. I am looking to get Gastric sleeve done. I am concerned that surgery will not be succesful because i am bipolar and one of my medications is seraqul. Seraquel is known for weight gain. Seraquel has been working very good for my bipolar. Does anyone know if Seraquel and gastric sleeve would be successful?
