It's now 6 weeks since surgery and I feel worse than 2 weeks after. Weak, nauseous, and just don't feel right...am I the only one? I felt better right after and now I feel like life is being sucked out of me... 36 pounds down ... at least one good thing

Hey all, I was sleeved on 1/28/19, and I will begin the soft food phase next Wednesday, 2/13/19. I’m a week into the liquid phase and it is frustrating me to no end. I am getting my fluids and protein in just fine, I meet/exceed my goal every day. I still feel so WEAK! It’s not even that I’m hungry, or even actually craving any crazy binge-food, I’m just so effing tired of not eating anything. I’m tired of water and crystal light, I get nauseous when I think about my next protein shake, and I am sick of broth. I don’t even want unhealthy foods, I just want a couple bites of salmon! Or a salad! I also am not at the point where I can go back to the gym and do card…

Hi everyone I am a newbie here who is looking for some advice. I am 3 week post op and over the last two days I have extreme pain over the right side of my stomach. It is made worse by lying on my back or trying to get up. My pain had mostly subsided prior to this. Has anyone any experience of this ? Thanks

Hello all! I'm completely new here but wanted to share that I got my approval yesterday and my date today! February 25th! So far away but so close! Nervous but excited! Guess everything is a mix of emotions, but what I'm reading, that's seems to be normal! Any tips and positive words would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, I just had surgery January 19th and I'm doing great! I don't miss bread like I thought I would. I plan on being dedicated to the post op diet as long as possible and making real life changes with my eating habits. I have, in the past, been great at dieting but it's harder now with my work schedule. The one thing I've always craved is Chick fil a. I would seriouslsy cut back on portion control and eat it once in a blue moon but I still got it. I don't intend on trying it any time soon, I'm still on the liquid phase. But I know myself and know I'll want a cheat day in the next few months. How long did it take to try the kids meal nuggets or grilled chicken? I know…

Just curious what to expect for the first 2-3 weeks post-op. I'm day 2 post-op, still sore and still have gas pains from surgery, but I'm hoping every day will get better! I'm so afraid to drink too much water or protein shakes and then get sick, but I want to make sure I'm hydrated. I have a desk job and was planning on going back on Monday which will be one week post-op. Am I crazy to think that? Am i going to feel OK just after a week's time of rest at home? Just wondering how everyone else's experience was Amy

  9. Hi, I was banded about ten years ago and had a terrible time. I lost about 60 pounds but it was mostly due to throwing up and poor nutrition-- I ate what would go down and little more. Last July I reconnected with my surgeon who suggested the sleeve. I just met the qualifications with a BMI of 35 and Sleep Apnea. Diabetes and High Blood Pressure run in the family and when I hit my mid-40's I knew I had to do something. I lost 30 pounds on WW's but I just couldn't keep it off-- once I lost the weight and my points were lowered I would just get soo hungry... The reason I haven't had my surgery yet despite seeing my doctor in July of 2017 is because of a huge fight with…

Well we managed to get a last minute deal to Egypt, and seeing as it was - 6 in the UK and a lovely hot 27 degrees in Egypt, I didn't hesitate! I was a little worried as the only option for the best price, was all inclusive and it's the first one I have been on since my op last May. We have been away a couple of times since my op but we chose self-catering which made sense. However! I have been very very good lol and am very proud of myself ? My restriction seems to be very tight here, don't know if it's the heat/ guilt/worry of gaining etc but I'm not complaining at all. It seems I have only been able to make one choice at each meal time and that has …

Had surgery August 23 2017. Never thought I would of hit goal so fast. I mentally prepared for at least a year. I know that 70 pounds might not be much to some, but I too struggle and am an emotional eater. its been a whirlwind of fun and crazy emotions. I have decided to just tell people how I lost it, cause it has become so apparent and happened quickly and people were concerned I was sick. So far everyone has been positive ( at least to my face) and Its such a great feeling. I have been diligent on keeping to my diet. Mostly protein, No sugar or Carbs. I take my supplements daily but struggle to remember the last calcium of the night. Ive recently had my blood work do…

I made a stir fry for dinner with thin cut eye of round and stir fry vegetables. I figured it would be ok since chili with ground beef is ok. However I just looked in my post surgery binder and for soft foods stage it says (in all caps!) AVOID ALL BEEF PORK AND VEAL. I’m kind of freaking out! Did I totally mess up my sleeve and am I in for some more pain????

I have to lose at least 140lbs in under a year I hope.. currently 320lbs need to be 180-185lbs as I'm 183CM tall. I'm a man mid 30s struggle with hunger cravings all the time. So I was sleeved on 7/23/18. SW:238, Pre op weight 221, CW 162. Goal is 138. I've lost 75 pounds and have been doing good with weight loss. I recently order a couple cookbooks and I noticed in it said that you should not snack and to only have three small meals a day. The small meals are fine but I mainly snack to get more protien in as I know I don't get enough daily. Curious what others do. Part of me says I'm doing good bc the scale is moving in the right direction...but the other part of me thinks am I doing something wrong...last thing I want is months down the road to slowly start gaining again. Biggest fear is gaining all the weight bk and looking like a failu…

  17. I am 2 weeks post sleeve surgery January 8, 2019. Have had only a 5 lb loss since surgery. Following diet and vitamins. Also developed a severe cramping/stabbing pain in lower left side the Doctors office doesnt seem to care about. Just told me to put on a tight shirt. Pain meds do not touch it..and it hurts to bad to exercise. Feel I have made a huge mistake. Lost more weight pre OP on my own than with this mess..just getting frustrated and depressed.

I had pulled the 2 stitches they put in to prevent a hernia about a week after surgery and thought my insides were being ripped apart! No joke!! So that is getting better slowly... i am having trouble wanting any food, it’s like my stomach has no emotion, I smell things and and have no desire to eat... I have to make myself ... I have always been a serious coffee drinker and now I could really do with out... it’s just really weird...

I am planning on having my husband take her to daycare for the time I am off work to recovery(approximately 9 days), but don't know how to handle when I am at home with her. I am sure that she will want to crawl on me and/or have me pick her up. How long after surgery before you were able to lift children?

If you have done it and it didnt feel comfortable it's okay try a different counselor or therapist. Don't give up. Its can be like finding the right pair of jeans. You have to find the right brand and size. The counselor/therapist just needs to have the right insight and personality for you. I will happily share my story. I couldn't see my weight loss and I've lost over 10 pant sizes!!! In counseling I have learned I look in the mirror and don't see my physical self. I see my mental self. I went back to this book, which I had purchased quite some time ago, just a refresh. I was looking for some information that I may have forgotten & then I remembered I had been confused when I finished it, but didn't reach out to find out the answers. So....here goes..... In regards to a diet to follow for the rest of your life, it says we should eat 60-120 gms protein which is 2.1 to 4.2 oz. It then says that we should eat 6 to10 servings, avge serving 2 oz. I will wait patiently and do everything that is required reach my goal. My starting weight is 266lbs and my short term goal is 199.75 (to get under 200) and my long term goal is 160lb. in the next could of years.

I saw this stuff online on sale for 15 a bag for 20 servings.. and Bam.. got me a few bags since it was a Christmas Clearance item so i could shake things up a bit. The only downfall is there is only 20g of protein per serving instead of 30..BUT since our bodies can only process 30 at a time, I am ok with that, I will use Milk for the eggnog and increase the protein to 28.. while i use water with the ones that are already 30 since it is pointless ( other than make your shake more creamy) to use milk …

Hi everyone. My surgery is scheduled for Friday, Feb 8th. I'm 1 week into the OptiFast liquid diet and feel horrible...not to mention the gastric distress I'm experiencing from no solid food. I'm supposed to drink 5 of the "tasty" shakes each day but am lucky if I can choke down 3. I know that is contributing to my fatigue and moodiness but they are just horrible. I don't even like regular shakes that are loaded with calories and flavor! I just broke weak and ate a tangerine. Now I'm worried that my liver won't shrink and my surgery will be postponed. I've tried watching videos on YouTube for inspiration and they are encouraging, but they don't help me not feel so…

And hey, 12.6 lbs is the most I've ever lost in just a week so I really am not complaining. But I, like many others I suspect, have struggled with my weight so long that I'm just ready for it t…
