My surgery is coming up next week and I feel like I am doing something wrong or that my surgery isn't going to go as well as others because my doctor does not have me on any particular diet going into surgery. When reading this board I feel like everyone else has to do a liquid diet leading up to surgery. Just curious if anyone else did not do diet leading up to surgery and how things went for you?

This was never brought up at all through any of my journey. Did the rest of you have to do this?

I had to do that when I got my LapBand., But not for going for VGS. Look like different doctors do different testing and diets.

I did. It was to look for other issues before my surgery.

I didn't do any kind of swallow either. Just loads of bloodwork, diabetes testing, and a gastroscopy.

It is used required for VSG but not the bypass. It is to check for abnormalities and then they do one after surgery to check for leaks.

clear liquids 48 hours before and that was for the surgery itself not for any diet
