how often did you feel buyers remorse having the surgery
Have never regretted having the surgery. Probably one of the best decisions I've ever made.

Your stall story
I've been stalled between 149-153 for a little over a month now. I'm really hoping this is not where my body decides to stop losing weight. I'm about 9 months out. I have been more diligent with tracking and have upped my exercise once again in order to break through it. I have faith.

I need a f*#+ing drink
I 'patiently' waited about four months. Finally had a drink and...... it was a terrible idea. Felt terrible. Instant regret. Even now at 9 months out drinking is no longer fun. The buzz comes on quick and leaves quick and you're left feeling sober and sick.

The Maintenance Thread
Sorry to dip in here but I've been feeling incredibly light headed/dizzy lately. I read thinking it had to do with water intake but now I'm thinking it may be carbs. Did your NUT mention what a good carb ratio looks like?

I don’t want to eat
Things get better with time. For quite a few months post op, I just didnt want to eat at all because it was such a process. After about 6 months post op, things started to get better. Still dont get a whole lot of pleasure out eating (which is a good thing. Food should be nourishment, not comfort or happiness) but have now gotten used to it. It just doesn't bother me like it used too. You'll adjust.

Are sugarfree mints ok to suck on with sleeve ?
Gum can allow air into stomach and can also causes a blockage if swallowed. Best to abide by the rules outlines by your doctor, especially for those first couple of post-op months.

Drinking Post Op
Yes. Whenever I have a drink, I get buzzed very quickly. The buzz lasts about 15 minutes and then I am sick. Drinkings has totally lost its appeal now.

Intermittent Fasting Daily Menu/Results/Accountability
First week of IF completed, I did... okay. I'm doing 16:8 and it's really easy for me to refrain from eating in the morning but once the evening hits, I'm like...I need food. However, on a positive note I hit a new weight low today

Calories/macros
Thank you! Congrats on your weight loss also! My weight loss has definitely slowed down from the beginning but I feel like that is to be expected. I'm not really focused on how fast the weight comes off, more focused on my ability to continue to lose and keep the weight off. I guess I have kept the "I'm continue to lose weight, I must be doing something right" mindset but I'm afraid that mindset is a trap. Lol!

Bipolar help! People gone through surgery?
Most pills can be filled as a liquid version that you will take for a bit after surgery. Beware that liquid versions of meds taste disgusting though.

Calories/macros
Hi all! I am curious as to how many calories everyone is eating/what your macros look like around 7 months out? I am a little over seven months post-op and take in about 1000-1200 calories a day (this a rough estimate). I have been consistently losing weight since surgery/have not gained. I am about 15 pounds away from my goal weight of 140lbs and started close 238 lbs. I was exercising a ton but have decreased a lot about 3 months ago (increased work hours). I feel like I am eating too much given that I am not exercising. However, I am not gaining and continuing to lose, so I am unsure whether this mindset is just my own poor/toxic food mindset creeping back up on me or whether I am actually eating way more than I should be. Around 1000-1200 calories a day, most of my calories come from protein, minimal exercise. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Exhaustion
About 6 months out and I'm exhausted all the time. My NUT suggested taking iron every other day even though my levels are fine but the idea of taking another pill is tiring in itself. Anyone solutions that do not involve taking more pills?

Six months post-op+ : The Sophomores Thread
Been MIA for awhile but wanted to jump in to say that I totally feel like I eat way more than I probably do! Everyone around me comments that I dont eat and I'm over here thinking that I'm overdoing it all the time. Scale and nutritionist say otherwise though.

Can you visually see your weight loss?
I look in the mirror and dont recognize who I am now-a-days. I know I've lost weight but most times I still feel fat. The body image/body dysmorphia is real.

Galentine's
I'm going to a Galentine's party tomorrow and I'm expected to bring something. I looked at the list of what others are bringing...all sweets and alcohol. The theme is pink/love/girls etc. Any suggestions on some healthy VSG-friendly Valentine's day related things I could bring to the party? I am 4 months out and do not eat sugar.
