Does anyone have any good recipe websites that will help with this stage? I am having a hard time

  2. Will it pass? I've never had this feeling. I ate a piece of deli ham. Not too much or too fast. I chewed it up really well. It's been 3 hours and I'm still in pain. I tried to eat a Popsicle a few minutes ago and threw it up.

I had my 6 week post op appointment today... Since I my first consultation with my surgeon on 12/08/14 I have lost a total of 45 lbs and my post surgery weight loss is 38 lbs! I did a happy dance as I got off the scale. The nurse may have thought I'm a little crazy but this is the first time in my adult life that I have fallen below 220! Anyone else having any motivating successes???

I felt terrible yesterday. Pain, nausea, and GERD. Called WLC and they guided me through the GERD. I stayed in bed all day. I'm a little better today, but very tender. Took one big nap. I feel like I've been set back from recovering. It almost feels like day 1. Anyone get sick this early?

At just over six months post op, recently my tummy has been gurgling more often and I feel somewhat bloated. I usually have a bowel movement once to twice a week. However, in the last few weeks, my tummy has become more gurgly, I feel bloated, and now I'm having more bowel movements more often – almost as if food is going straight through me. Is this normal??

  9. Hi everyone! I just joined this app site and already I feel less anxious about the next few months. My surgery date is July 30th. I am curious to learn what postop adjustments and challenges did you face, and we're there any surprises? Also, how long was it before you were able to get back into your exercise regimen? Any other fellow vegetarians out there, too?

Hello my fellow September 2014 WLS folks! Let's talk progress..... HW - 323 SW - 297 CW - 207 Total lost - 116 lbs! I started at a size 26 and I'm currently a size 14 (in "regular non-plus size" stores). I am totally happy with my weight loss, but I can't wait to hit ONEderland! I had set a goal of being under 200 by my 40th birthday and I am not sure I am going to make it (I only have 4 days to go)! UGH... I know that I will get the soon, I'm just a bit disappointed ???? I just need to kick up my cardio and strength training! How's everyone else?

So I am 2 months post op, HW 324 SW 304, I am 257 as of this morning, losing 67 lbs. so I have been following the diet and I do really good one week and lose 5 lbs then the following if I lose a whole lb I am doing good. That was last week. So Between Friday morning and Monday morning I lost 5 lbs. I did nothing different and was even bad and had a bit of cream off my son's piece cake. I have been keeping an average 75 g of protein, most days it's more than that. My caloric intake is right at 900 daily. On the weekends I am a little more active, I don't count I just eat if I'm hungry. I stop eating after I feel like I can feel food in my pouch. I'm just wondering if maybe…

My 6th month doctor appointment is on July 2nd. I have been reading articles, blogs, forums, books, watching YouTube videos of the actual procedure online and watching YouTube videos of peoples journeys. I haven't had my surgery yet, I 'am getting the bypass done due to a hiatal hernia and severe acid reflex. I talk about it a lot, even if I don't mean to, I read as much as I can about other peoples experiences, and watch so many YouTube videos. I feel like people are getting irritated with me because I 'am talking about it so much. I am trying to figure out if it's normal to be this obsessed with it, and I haven't even had the surgery yet. Anyone else go through…

Does anyone know how many sizes can be offset by using a seamstress? For example I have some dresses and skirts that are a size 20 and I am now fitting into a 16 (YEAH!) and I am wondering if they can be taken down by a seamstress or if that is too much of a size change and they won't look/fit as they originally did....thanks for any insight.

  28. This will be the third laparoscopic surgery. 2.5 years ago for my sleeve , 5 months for RNY and now this. I am not sure if my abdomen can handle another go around. Also, they are not 100% sure it's my gallbladder. A couple of the test (x-ray, cat scan and basic labs). However, when they did the more extensive test (more comprehensive laps and hida scan) they came back inconclusive. I was at the boarder line for several ranges that put me in the risk category. I still have immediate pain after eating, but not 100% of the time, like before. I do continue to have pain in other place in my GI tract, while I am sedated, they are going to do and EGD to look at things from…

Hi Everyone! I has RNY in September and I have been doing very very well. I am down 105lbs at this point and right now losing every day. Part of the reason I am losing so much now is because I just had spine surgery that was performed through my throat. I had that surgery completed on 6/3. I am in a decent amount of pain but am coping very well. The issue is I am having a very difficult time eating and drinking much of anything worth while. Apparently this is normal for this type of surgery but I have not found cases where the patient had both RNY and spine surgery so close together. I am not even coming close to my Water requirement and have been getting cram…

Hey everybody.... I'm 6 days out RNY. Still in clear liquid phase. I'm having a lot of gas rumbling between my chest and pressure in my lower abdomen, and major pain in my left shoulder (they said gases take hold in the shoulder) and ribs. I've taken two doses of liquid painkillers, but it won't go away. I even took two gas-x chewables, waiting to see if that helps. Should I be alarmed? I don't know what is normal pain, what is not. My revision was profoundly painful. PollyO

I had my first consult appointment with my surgeon on Tuesday 3/24/15. I thought it went really well and I'm looking forward to starting the process. My insurance requires a 6 month physician supervise diet and I start that April 1st. Has anyone else had their surgeon tell them that for your age (20's) that they would choose sleeve? My surgeon said if he were my age he would choose sleeve, I however was leaning towards bypass because of the amount of weight I have to loose and from what I've researched. He said I can't pick a wrong surgery and he supports me with either one. Also he said I have a heart murmur, which I've never had anyone say before. Anyone else my age h…

Hi all. I am just over 4 weeks post op. I feel good however....when I drink fluids especially water, I get a feeling of fullness then like air bubbles come up it only lasts a few minutes. I get a sort of nausea feeling. I'm noticing now too when I eat (I am on regular foods now). I know my body is changing and adjusting but I seriously want to gag when I drink anything. I can't stand the feeling I get. I don't notice it too much when I drink my protein shake because it is little thicker consistency. Does anyone have any similar issues and will this resolve eventually? Thanks!

I went to meeting with the bariatric surgeon and he won't approve me until my sleep study is done. I found out the facility that was suppose to be getting me approved hasn't submitted the form. I will have to pay 500 at least out of pocket for my deductible. I was thinking I might just go online and order a sleep test. Has anyone done this and who did you use?

So I had an appt with my GP on Friday (8 days post-op) for a follow up on a med unrelated. (She is not the one that has been walking through this process with me. I did that direct with surgeon's office.) Anyway, she said "Congratulations. You made a very brave choice." I can't decide what I think of that comment and it has been rolling around in my head for 4 days. What do you think? Is it brave as in it is a dangerous choice? Or was it just a sideways compliment for taking a very drastic step towards health? I know she meant it as a compliment; just that "brave" wasn't a word I had associated with this process before. Do you feel "brave" for taking this step?

Was able to start next phase yesterday which includes fish, soft veggies, and some other things. So I made Tilapia for dinner. Felt fine afterward but 2 hours later felt like the food was stuck in my throat-then ensuing uncomfortable feeling in chest and general nausea. Long story short, had to make myself throw up after about 4 hours of pain. The whole experience got me really upset! Not sure if it was just the fish, the amount, the chewing-I swear I really tried to follow all the rules. So now I am scared to try fish again or anything that resembles it. Almost dizzy at times and besides walking around the house to make my shakes I haven't had the energy to go outside and do a real walk. I'm normally a light sleeper. Is this just one of those recovery things you think? I didn't get a ton of sleep last night, about 7 hours, but it just feels a bit excessive to me. But I could be get…
