  12. Thanks @@dml77 I am still a rookie at it yet.
  13. Good luck on Monday.
  14. So I have made it through surgery and the first week of post-op. It hasn't been all sunshine but the worst of it is over. I go into a little more detail on my blog The MGB and Me. Thanks everyone for the well wishes and I look forward to hearing and sharing as I go along the path to my new life.

  16. So here I sit trying to relax and get some rest. I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve night. I haven't sleep worth a crap since Sunday. I am so ready to get this journey started. Tomorrow at 10:00 CDT I should be unbanded and converted to MGB and in my room.
  17. Sounds like you are doing great. My band come out on Wednesday and revising to MGB.
  18. Well not real depression. I am scheduled for my MGB surgery on July 1st. I am just realizing I am having several things for the last time and I am not sure how I feel about that. Don't get me wrong I know I will be in such a better place after I lose the weight but I have been emotionally tied to different foods for a long time. Am I just a wacko or have others dealt with this and is it truly worth it?
  19. Dude its the testosterone that has you jacked up. It has been stored in your fat cells and as you lose weight it is coming out. Your body will eventually level out once you stop losing weight at a rapid pace.
  20. I had the lapband about 5 years ago and have issues a along. To top it off it has developed a leak and needs to be repaired. I am going in on July 2nd and it will be removed and the surgeon will be performing a Mini-Gastric Bypass on me. The reason I went with the MGB is it 100% reversible unlike the sleeve and has a shorter recovery time than the Gastric Bypass. The problem with the MGB is only a few surgeons perform this operation in the US. It is extremely popular in Europe however. It has a solid track record and an estimated 80% excess weight loss expected.
  21. Hey good luck man. I am in the same boat but mine is a little bigger. I am 6'4" and will never be tiny but I can be healthy. Have you thought much about long term goal? I am thinking 205 to 215 would look good on a 6'4" frame. I am scheduled for an MGB on June 17th.
  22. Nice job man. Good luck and your right it will be a great memory for her.
  23. Welcome back and good luck. Hate to be a Debbie Downer but I was in the same boat as you. I was banded about 5 years ago and did great for 18 to 24 months and then fell off the wagon. When I went back to get started again I found out I had a leak in the tubing and it would require another procedure to fix it. Hope you have a better outcome then me. I guess it is not that uncommon for a leak to develop in the tubing.
  24. @@Rhodes my MFP ID is ksu1971.
