OMG! Bought to go 5K'n!

This is the point in the journey when you realize how much life has changed for you. I am about to a 5K walk/run with my daughter on Saturday at her school. I thought it was insane that I wouldn't even have considered taking part in this last fall at 395 lbs.

Wish me good luck! Trying to prep for it nightly so I don't collapse!!! Lol!!!

I agree with you. I've never been a long distance runner. I could always do quick short bursts (base to base) but running can be a new goal. I've heard wonderful things about Couch to 5K. Worth checki

Aww! That is so sweet! Congratulations to you both, but especially to you for taking control of your health and trying something new! You've got this! Take pics and have fun!

good luck.... I am sure this can be the first of many!!!

Awesome, I've been doing the ocassional 5K, and it's been great. One thing I've learned is to make sure you have a really good pair of shoes that are made for your body type, stance, etc. I have also learned that this is one area where I can't afford to be cheap. Go to a specialty running store and get fitted. Even if they don't carry the shoe for you, they will usually suggest several models right for you. A good pair of shoes makes all the difference in the world. I love the brooks addiction. Pricey, but worth every penny IMO.

What a great thing to do... maybe I should get into running this summer! Although I have always hated running... maybe biking.

So many ways to get and stay fit! 5Ks are an excellent start. I feel inspired!

Hot Damn!

You are a BAD MAN! I'm looking forward to something similar in a month.

Congrats.
