I am 9 days out of surgery and my emotions are all over the place! I am still in liquid phase and should be changing to soft foods on Tuesday but my head hunger has been ferocious...I feel so goofy to be so attached and missing food like I am. Please tell me that this range of emotions is not unique to me...but I'm feeling like I am a woman on the edge...lol

Hey everyone, I'm 3weeks post op and I'm finding it hard.. I feel like I'm not eating enough. I only eat two yogurts per day. I ate a sausage roll and now my family think I've stretch my stomach and now I'm way to scared to eat now. I don't get any aftercare.. Gemma

  3. I came across this site looking for some sort of support. I had rny gastric bypass on 6/10 so I'm fairly new to this. Looking for someone to bounce ideas off of and share experiences about our WLS Journey. Don't have to be close by to text each other. I love to be positive and try to motivate those around me and i do believe sharing and learning from peers will help a great deal. Anyone out there? Lol.

  4. I was sleeved in December. Haven't been heavy my whole life and started at a pretty low BMI. My daughter on the other hand, is pretty heavy. She's 19 year old college student and just got approved for surgery! She's 5 hours away, so we're scheduling surgery for Christmas break when she'll be home six weeks. Is that enough time for her to recover or should we wait until next summer? She has a dorm that has a full kitchen and private bath so I'm hoping I can help her get set with all she needs there too. How soon after RNY did you start feeling better? Are we moving too fast?

I am 31 years old and I had lap band in 2011. I weigh more today than when I had the surgery. I am currently scheduled for gastric sleeve in Mexico April 13, 2015 but have been considering gastric bypass. I don't want to have another surgery. So I need people to offer experience or advice of why you chose bypass over sleeve. I have 120 pounds to lose with 2 small kids. High Blood pressure and in danger of being a diabetic. I do not suffer from acid reflux.

I had RNY gastric bypass on April 1, 2015. I had complications that landed me in the hospital for most of April and the first week of May. I was doing great, but then all of a sudden I could no longer eat or drink anything at all. I ended up getting a g tube (feeding tube), which I had for 2 months. After it was put in, I started to eat a little better, but I still could not drink. Once I had my g tube removed, I was able to drink much better. After those complications, I had other medical conditions arise which I had a very hard time with as well. Unfortunately, while I was having all of these complications, my support system started to fall apart. I lost friends because…

Hi all, I'm new to this site and well in having the gastric bypass. I had my gastric bypass 8/13/15. My question is, do you experience a burning, pulling pain on the left side of your stomach from the belly button on? It paralyzes me a times : (( I called my doc and said sounds totally normal, just sounds muscular. Just wanna see if anyone has some experience on this. Thank you, Veronica

Hi, everyone just wondering if there's any revision sleeve to bypass patient of there that have United Healthcare. If so was it extremely hard to get approved for the revision surgery and did it take a long time for the approval. Also I'm only 14 months out from being sleeved and just wondering if I would have to go through the entire process again. I'm having extreme complications with gerd not to mention I've only lost about 30-40lbs with the sleeve. My BMI is still over 40 and my health issues have become more complicated. My diabetes is worse than ever, my blood pressure is staying up and the GERD has me in pain and vomiting a lot. Any advice anyone??

For anyone craving pasta or looking for something good to eat alongside protein, try Tofu Shirataki. I buy the angel hair variety from Whole Foods - 20 calories and 3 carbs for an entire package, which is one serving ( I eat about 1/4 usually). Tastes like the real thing, especially with some marinara sauce and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese!

Please don't judge, but I am looking for help. I drank a lot of alcohol before surgery and unfortunately have been drinking alcohol since about a month out and now I am almost a year out and at a stahl. I understand why and I would like to quit completely!!! It's very hard and want to know if anyone else is having this problem? What did you do to quit ? Thank you for not judging.

Hello everyone, I'm new here and I have a question. I just did a revision to Gastric Bypass two weeks ago and now I'm on the puréed diet. The problem I'm having is that, I can not tell if I'm hungry or full. I'm not getting any type of signal. How am I suppose to know when I'm hungry? I asked the dietitian and she said it will come back but right now I just need help finding ways that I can know if I'm hungry or full. It's kind of frustrating because I don't want to over eat or drink more than I'm suppose to and get dumping syndrome or something. Any advice will be helpful. Thanks!

I am a little embarrassed to write about this but I am desperate to know if this something I should be concern about . I just had surgery on Tuesday 8/18 and I have been doing ok. I was having really bad gas pain but I was told that was normal . Well today I woke up and I haven't been able to stop going to the bathroom (#2)... Even water is running right thru me . Is this normal ? Should I call my doctor first thing tomorrow? This just started today and I am to the point where I am sitting next to the bathroom so I don't have an accident . So embarrassing to be writing about this but as stated earlier, I am desperate and concerned .

I have been going through almost 8 months monitored weight loss (insurance only requires 6) and two months of being drug around in the mud by my insurance, bariatric office, and the insurance coordinators. Long story short, they denied the surgery at first, and them told me I'd have to see someone once a week for 3 months (currently still doing that), and then I could appeal. We submitted an appeal anyway, to have the denial overturned. I called on 8/22/2015 for s$%*^'s and giggles to see what the status was. The surgery has been overturned, meaning it's approved. It's done, it's over, I can finally get the surgery!!!!! I called my bariatric office to see what the next…

  22. So I'm over 3 months post op and I'm wondering if my hunger is starting to return. I'm wondering because, with all the dang gurgling, I can't tell if this is hunger's "new sound" after surgery or if it's just general gurgling that comes with bypass. IE- this morning after my run I noticed it. I drank some Water, and it calmed a bit, but it was also time to eat Breakfast. Can't tell if it's coincidence or hunger?? So was you hunger sound the 'same' once it returned, or did it take on a sound/feel??

Are there any GB people out there who got the surgery over 5 years ago? I am interested in hearing from people who had the surgery a while ago, and finding out what issues you encountered over the long term. Did your weight increase eventually from your goal weight? Do eating patterns change over time? Do you still experience dumping syndrome? What other things might you tell a GB newbie about what to expect long-term?

Hi all. I am 5 weeks post-op. I've lost about 45 pounds. I was given clearance to eat soft proteins and veggies. My problem is the nut told me to eat 3 times a day with a small amount of the soft protein and still continue to drink the protein shakes as well as water. I tried to eat three times a day, but would feel nauseous in between portions. I am also struggling to get the protein shakes down, but I just can't take another one. I tried eating little bites 4-5 times throughout the day and that helped the nausea, but I gained 2 pounds. Anyone else feeling this frustration?

I'm still leaning toward the sleeve but am wondering if I should do the RNY bypass. My question is this, since I already bought the Gastric Sleeve book would I need to also buy the Bypass book?
