Hi all! I'm considering surgery and will attend my first informational session on 6/15. I'm glad to have found this forum and have gotten alot from reading your successes and struggles. Here's my question: Who did you tell about your surgery? If I opt to move forward with the surgery, I don't want to tell coworkers. I'm relatively new at this job and don't feel a real sense of connection with my thin coworkers. I guess what I'm asking is if it's possible to take a week or two of vacation, come back and resume normal work life without having to disclose. I understand that some will draw conclusions from a noticeable weight loss, but am curious to hear the experience of…

In the ER. For the past couple of days I've been experiencing abdominal cramps so severe I feel it up to my chest. I've already had my period 2 weeks ago, but the cramps sort of feel like that or if you were to have diarrhea, but bowel movements seem to be fine. The longest I've gone was a week without a BM, and after that I had my BM Thursday and again on Sunday. I'm nervous because when I research online I found out that it could be an ulcer or gallstones and I pray that its neither one of them. Prayers and advice is welcome.

Ok it's exactly a week today since my surgery, and no BM this whole time. I took 2 ex lax pills crushed up yesterday, and nothing. I crushed 2 more today and so far nothing. It's obviously only been liquids for the last 3 weeks, and today is first day to incorporate puréed food. So obviously nothing should have come out in that area anyways right? I have no cramping or discomfort. I am having moments of flatulence ???? so I assume it's working right down there !? Anyone else experiencing similar issue? TIA ????

For example I had a friend who never touched a drug become a user she is several years post op. I have found that I am drinking white wine more than I should. Instead of a few glasses I would like to limit it to one glass of red. Maybe transfer addiction? we cannot have a love affair with food so we find something else to gravitate to...your thoughts. Hiya, I'm Kristi. I had bypass on 6/26/13. I am a computer teacher in a very small school district. I teach grades pre-k through 12th grade. I'm also an Educational Technology Specialist. I have run into several other teachers on the June board alone, so I thought it would be neat to see if we could get a group of educators on here to share secrets to successful eating habits in school. I know we are always rushed for time to eat and use the restroom! How many of y'all are having to deal with Common Core?

I ovulated this month and my period came 14 days later... Luckily I am not sexually active. I am on the pill bc my periods are really bad. 19. For a couple of days now, I have experienced a numbing on my right upper thigh, with pins and needles sensation when I sit or lay down. It makes it impossible to fall asleep without pain medications (not because it's painful, at least not for me yet) but because the numbness and tingles are so uncomfortable. I put some ice on my leg yesterday and it barely made a difference I looked up my symptoms and meralgia paresthetica makes the most sense; one of the risks factors is surgery or trauma exactly in the place in which most of the work is done during GB (also the part of my body that hurt the most). I attached a picture for better understanding. I looked into it more…

It took 5 years for them to figure it out! Looking for other 60 ers whomsy be having surgery in July/ Aug to buddy up with!

  23. A milestone for me in this journey -- all of my pre-op paperwork/tests are finally in and will be reviewed Tuesday (hopefully) by the doctor. If all goes well, the bariatric coordinator expects I will be able to do my post-doc approval followup tests Friday, June 12, and NUT possibly Monday, June 15. See doc for final consult on Monday, July 6. Looking out, she said I could have surgery Aug. 10 or Aug. 17! I don't think there will be an issue with my health insurance, at least I hope not. It's a fast schedule but I don't think she'd go over those dates if she didn't think it was doable. Yahooooo!

GETTING PAST THE PLATEAU After bariatric surgery, If you are off track of your weight loss goals or exercise regime. Do not worry, hope is not lost. Getting out of a weight loss plateau after an obesity surgery can be very challenging, but you can do it. Firstly, you must stay on track with your diet and exercise. Remember back to when you lost weight at the quickest rate and determine when you fell off track. If you have not been exercising like you should, it is very important to start an exercise program. This will increase your caloric deficit, help build or maintain lean muscle mass, and boost your metabolism. After bariatric surgery in Dallas, if you have been ex…

Thought about wearing a sports bra, at least at night, to keep the girls from getting long. I am concerned about my lower belly. Doc said it will be longer then it is now. Unfortunately, my insurance wont pay to have the skin removed. Thoughts and suggestions on this topic would be appreciated. Thanks
