  7. Thanks for asking this question. I'm coming up on my 1 year surgiversary at the end of this month and am just 6 pounds away from the goal my surgeon set for me. Personally, I'd like to lose another 10-15 pounds to give myself a cushion. Thanks James for sharing your insights. They're very helpful. I think I'm going to try your anti-hunger essential oil mix. Just one question, does it smell very strong? I have some coworkers who are very sensitive to smells and I don't want to incur their wrath! Cheryl

  9. I agree with the majority, the black and white one looks better. Although they are both cute, that one defines your shape better and looks great! Have fun at the theatre!

  20. Well, I have to share my experience from this weekend here. You'll all appreciate it! I've gone from a 50D to a 40B (so far) and I bought a cute bra from Lane Bryant that has pockets inside to hold a little plastic air balloon to help push the girls up and together. I had the bright idea to use the little balloons in another bra Saturday. It never entered my mind that they wouldn't stay where they were put! Needless to say, a couple of hours after I left the house I felt something puffy around my waistband! Luckily I had tucked my shirt into my jeans! I never even felt it moving!! #weremycheeksred!

  22. I haven't had any throwing up, or dumping. I had RNY on April 28th. I'm not sure why some have problems with that and some not, but I'm thankful for my good fortune. What I've dealt with more often is feeling over full and uncomfortable at times if I eat one or two bites too many.
  23. P.S. I've also enjoyed playing around on pinterest and the website polyvore.com. Mostly to remind myself of what I want to pair together, but looking at all the ideas too.
  24. Just read through all the comments on this topic. This is something I am currently obsessed with! I've found a blog that has really helped me, it's http://fiftynotfrumpy.blogspot.com/ For those of us of a "certain age" she has great tips. I'm fortunate in that I have 4 sisters that are all different sizes and I've been able to "shop" in their closets as I've changed sizes. I go to thrift stores, clearance racks, Old Navy, Walmart, etc... but I have gotten much more particular as I've gotten smaller and have more to choose from. Definitely a good problem to have. Good luck to everyone on this journey of finding the style that suits you!!

  27. Great problem to have, huh? I've been going to Goodwill, Thrift stores and checking out the clearance racks at department stores (Ross, TJ Max, Marshalls) I'm also blessed to have 4 sisters that I can borrow clothes from. Not everyone has sisters, but maybe you have some friends or family members you can ask? Great problem to have, huh? 28. I had the same problem at that point in my recovery. I asked my surgeon if it was normal to feel that way, and he said it was expected. He told me that I wasn't taking in enough nutrition to allow for extra energy yet, but as I lost weight the energy required for basic functioning would lessen and allow you to have extra energy for living. I hope I'm writing it clearly enough. It helped me to know that it was normal and would improve. I'm now 14 weeks out from surgery and my energy level has increased weekly. As long as I get my Protein in and stay hydrated, I'm feeling good! Good luck to everyone! Keep on keepin' on!
  29. Hi! Good luck with everything. Looking forward to hearing from you!
  30. My mom was a great cook, she learned how to cook from her mom and in turn taught me to cook the same way. She made a balanced dinner every night, a meat or Protein, a vegetable or two and a starch. Very balanced, but cooked with full fats and with no thought to limiting sugar or salt when it was called for... chicken Fried Steak Mashed Potatoes Meatloaf macaroni & cheese with Meatsauce Fried Chicken Hamburger (salisbury) steak Fish Sticks Pea salad Potato Salad Tuna Salad Sandwiches on White Bread chips Cakes, Pies, Cookies Turkey & Dressing with all the sides and fixings at Thanksgiving and Christmas Ham & Scalloped Potatoes for Easter I don't blame any of my weight issues on my Mom, most of the people in our country cooked the way she did in the 50's and 60's. I blame myself for not changing what I ate when I learned better.
  31. Yep, I have to pull my bra band away from the front of my body when that happens. That is exactly where I feel full.
  32. I'm following this topic with interest as I have hip and back pain from arthritis. I'm currently taking tylenol and excedrin during the day and tramadol at night for pain relief. Trying to hold on until I've lost enough weight to make a difference in my hip.
  33. I followed my surgeon's Vitamin regimen that they gave me. I chose Bariatric Advantage because they had the chewables and I knew they were good. I took 2 multivitamins a day (morning and evening) 3 calcium citrate chewys (I started with the chewable ones and couldn't stand the chalkiness!) 1 sublingual B-12 and 1 chewable Iron supplement. At about 5 weeks out from surgery, I switched to a Multivitamin with iron that Bariatric Advantage has. I really prefer just swallowing pills when I can and not having to chew them up. My surgeon approved it, because he said they dissolve really quick and won't get stuck. I take 3 of these daily instead of 2.
