POST OP PEEPS...COMPULSIONS?

I was curious if anyone is exhibiting compulsive behavior. Shopping, drinking, sex, drug use. You don't have to disclose the exact case but I am just curious if you do infact have them. For example I had a friend who never touched a drug become a user she is several years post op. I have found that I am drinking white wine more than I should. Instead of a few glasses I would like to limit it to one glass of red. Maybe transfer addiction? we cannot have a love affair with food so we find something else to gravitate to...your thoughts. I know there have been articles stating there is no valid research there is a link...I think that is bs and s o m e peoplle are just more prone to it.

I am not there yet since my surgery was just yesterday but this is something my therapist and I have talked about extensively. It is, unfortunately, very common to transfer your food addition to another addition. (Some even still have food addiction but in the opposite direction and become anorexic .) The fact that you are aware of it is a very good thing, but you might check in to some addiction counseling to make sure you are dealing with it upfront. That's my plan anyway to continue with my current counselor.

Hmmm. Obsession with my weight even more.

I'm only 3 weeks out, but I have noticed I do like and want to do more exercise and I feel pretty good when doing it.

I've already got an addiction to shopping lol, not really but I do love it
