Hi, my journey started this past summer. My Aunt passed away July 3rd, it really hit home she was young, obese had diabetes and heart problems. This really made me stop and take a good look at myself. I knew I had to do something! I've been overweight since I had kids. My weight just keep creeping upwards. I was close to 300 lbs! So, I looked into weight loss surgery, my first appointment was September 4th and my journey began! Doctors appointments, tests, classes, nutrionists, etc. I had to lose 5% of my weight before surgery. Which I did and a couple of pounds more. I had my surgery on December 9th, Gastric Bypass. Things went well for me, I'm on to the puree stage of food now.

I found BariatricPal through the book that was given to me at my Stage II class. I'm hoping to be able to connect with others that have gone through Gastric bypass and learn more information that will help me be successful.

I'm married to a wonderful man who is very supportive of my decision to have weight loss surgery. I have 2 Adult daughters, One is married and the other lives at home. She is also supportive of me.

I have lost 31.5 lbs so far, which includes my pre-op weight loss.
