His, So I'm 25 days out and on soft foods. I do ok with foods, buy can hardly eat much. The radiologist told me I should only feel fullness and not pain. Pain seems to be the first sign I get. Just wanting to know if this is normal or not? Thanks!

So, I ordered a few clearance dresses for work because I am swimming in everything I own! I ordered an XL dress, and pulled the 18W/18’s out of the closet. The 18’s all fit!! The dresses fit! Feeling a bit adventurous, I went to JCPenney and purchased some work shirts! XL work shirts with room to spare!! This tool is amazing..... but busting my butt in the gym everyday is doing magic on this body composition!! HW: 301 SW: 279 (Sleeved 1/28/19) CW: 251

I am looking at having VSG surgery in May of this year. I'm really nervous, and not really sure what to expect. I've have 8 surgeries in my life, I'm 21, so I'm not scared of surgery, just of this particular procedure. I'd appreciate any tips, advice, support, and help.

After 7 months one of my teammates came up and directly asked me if I had surgery. I paused, then flat out lied and said no. I followed up the lie with truth. My Dr scared me into losing weight plus my Dad died at 58. Said I'm eating significantly fewer calories, tracking on an app, focusing on protein to keep me full, and exercising more. She said that it was inspirational, although she never really said I look good. Guess I just need to be satisfied with the inspirational comment. Most people who have come up to me have said I look good and asked what I've done to lose the weight, but until now no one has mentioned surgery. Wondering if others are thinking it. R…

I am having my sleeve tomorrow and I been doing a lot of reading and seem to come across a lot of people who had the sleeve done either don’t lose much weight or regain the weight back. I am having doubts now and still I self pay for my surgery I am not sure if I make the right choice. I thought I did at first because it’s was less harmful to me and how the surgery will make me feel fuller if we feel fuller why are we regain.

Hello! I’m new here, I have read the forums since preservers but just joined to try to help me over my mental stall. I am 6 months post op today and have lost 71% of my excess weight (71 pounds, goal weight 146, SW 246, HW 256). I am torn because I know how far I have come but now I’m starting to be able to eat more, craving more, losses are slowing and I’m starting to doubt myself. I exercise daily, get my fluids, protein, and supplements. Any advice welcome!!

So at the beginning of this whole journey the only person who has always been behind me is my husband. No he is acting like I can not do anything, cook, wash clothes, wash dishes. If I try to walk to long in his eyes he is telling me to lay down. Of that's not enough now I have my mother who questioned the way, made little remarks about my weight now wanting to come take care of me. Not only does she want to come stay with me she wants to bring my two youngest nicece too. Which are 3 and 5. It's not some vacation from work for a family get together, I'm recovering over here. Just find it funny now that I am accomplishing what I set out to do now everyone is all of a sudd…

I'm 5 months post-op (down almost 70 pounds from pre-surgery weight, almost 80 from starting weight) and under 200 (FINALLY!!). But I can already see the losses slowing down. I'm cool, I knew it would happen, but the slower loss makes me want to tinker with my diet a bit. I don't know that I will, but it's in the back of my mind, and I know that sooner or later I'll have to "mix it up" a bit to keep the losses coming. My practice says 650-800 calories until 6 months (not sure how much it increases after 6 months, if at all) and I'm wondering if my body would prefer the 800-1000 calorie range right now, based on a few "off" days I had recently that resulted in quic…

Hi all, I had the gastric sleeve done on 2/19/19. I have been having complications since. I want to know if anyone has had a similar experience. I'm having serious buyers remorse. After my sleeve I had severe nausea and vomiting issues. I informed my surgeon's office and was told to sit up more and move around. I felt initially it was working. A few days after my surgery I got a call that my stomach that was removed tested positive for H. Poly. The doctor ordered a course of strong antibiotics. My nausea skyrocketed. Now just 4 weeks after surgery I have had 2 week long admits with really no resolution. I went through test that say my esophagus lower valve will not s…

I am not sure what to do. I experience lots of acid reflux and have been taking Prilosec everyday with no relief. I saw my surgeon today and he tripled the dose. He is scheduling an Endoscopy but if I am taking 4 pills a day how will I get accurate results. When I tried to talk to him. He said don't you trust me? Last year he was ready to convert to a bypass and this year he increases the PPIs. I don't want to be on them forever due to the long term side effects. What would you do?

Hey There, So I am 1 week out of having my gastric sleeve procedure. Doing well, no real pain around stomach stitches or anything. Up and moving. Eating soups and puree just fine. I know my limit sort of when i get full and get hiccups or heavy breathing. However, WATER IS KILLING ME. I love water, always have. However I find it next to impossible to drink right now without feeling it slide into my stomach. My stomach clenching and rustling making noise. Feeling like throwing up in pain. Needing to lie down. Cold, Room temp, hot you name it. Pain. Sips, gulps. Pain. I am struggling hard with this and have found myself crying a little bit as I am scared som…

Guys... I know this sounds really gross but I am seriously struggling to use the bathroom (number 2)...I am 6 weeks post OP and I go maybe every 4 or 5 days and it is these massive boulders that I cry to get out... literally cry. I know it's most likely the protein and the vitamins. I need help. I dont want to take laxatives because they honestly do nothing for the impacted stool already stuck in my bowels. How on EARTH do you stay regulated? This is the worst pain I have ever had. Any advice, foods you eat to go, regiments, would be MUCH appreciated. Thank you thank you thank you.

I went to dinner the other night with a group for my friend's birthday. Some of his other friends there that I didn't know, which is great, and I ended up sitting across from one of his male friends that I didn't know. Well, this guy started going on and on about a girl that his buddy is dating. He kept going on about how "big" and tall she is. He also mentioned that she weighs 25 pounds more that his buddy, who weighs 150. I finally said "um, what's wrong with being a big, tall girl". He didn't really reply. I don't think he meant anything by it, but I found it incredibly rude, and it's been bothering me ever since. I'm 5'10". I was wearing heels that night, so I was ove…

I never had heartburn until after my surgery (May 3, 2018). I was on a prescription but they had to change it because it wasn’t for long term use. My new prescription was working but now I seem to have heartburn pains. I had started Plexus products and that was fine at first too then the heartburn came back with a vengeance. My husband was using Plexus as well and told me that he had been having heartburn problems since taking Plexus. We both quit a few days ago and his heartburn has gone away. Mine has not though. I get a weird pain in the center of my chest when I eat (not all the time but most of the time) and I have to wait before I eat more bites (if I even do…

Hi all. My gastric sleeve surgery was on March 17. In the first three days the scale was 10 pounds higher which I knew it is due to surgery and all the IV. But today, 1 week after, I lost the 10 pounds and I am back at my orgional pre-OP weight. Is that normal? It sorta burst my bubble. How much did you lose first week?

Hey All! I was sleeved on 3/18/19 and have had a really rough recovery. I’m only able to get down about 8oz of liquid a day. I figured out that reflux meds help, but only enough to help me get maybe 12oz of liquids down a day. Protein20, Premier Protein all upsets my stomach. I can get down small sips of water and a popsicle if I eat it slow. I’m post op day 5 and ALLLLL FOOD LOOKS DELICIOUS!! I haven’t had more than a total of 4oz of protein in one day, (today actually), since Sunday, 3/17/19, the last day of pre-op. I talked to my doc today because I was worried about malnutrition and hydration. He just asked me to keep working on clear liquids and would check on me…

I received insurance approval about. A week, maybe a week and a half ago. I was told that the surgeon needed to review my file, and then the scheduler will call to set a date. I am so worried that they are missing something from me, and I am unaware. ? Its probably just jitters but I just think that the office doesn't make enough contact with patients. Through my 6 month diet phase, I never heard from the office, not once. I called one time to see if there was anything they needed or that I should be doing and they said no, that they will call me when all of my requirements were met. What was communication like with your surgeons offices??

Had upper scope today. He said there was a slight twisting but didn't seemed concerned. So I was looking at the papers. Everything looked good but there was a slight twist in the sleeve anatomy. The Antrum looked normal. They took a bx from there to to hp testing. Then the last line said diagnostic laparoscopy may need to be considered to see if mild twist of anatomy can be addressed. No clue what any of that means. And they aren't very discriptive. If anyone knows. Help.

Hi, This is my first time here. I was sleeved October 29th and have lost 50 pounds total with 14 the last two months. Definitely in a slow down but here is where I have issues. I cannot drink water of any kind. I get horrible heartburn from it and think that is freakin' weird. I can drink protein shakes but water no matter if Crystal Light or flavors I get horrible pain. I also cannot eat chicken as it does the same thing. I know we are supposed to hit 64oz of water a day so do I just drink protein shakes now? My doctor has had me try every thing on the market to get water intake as he has stated Protein Shakes are not part of the fluid intake. Any insight here on w…

Hi, I am in the Kaiser Permanent pre-op phase. I have my psych eval on April 1st. I have reached my goal weight and I'm really curious to see how long many of you felt that you could return to work? I had a set back recently. I fractured my tibia (shin bone) and was out of work for 9 weeks. I know everyone's recovery is unique and different. I'm just trying to get an idea of howling I will need to be out. Thank you! I'm looking forward to reading about your stories. Gina

I've had a hard run but after much heartache, I finally had my surgery on December 10th. The picture of me in the gray shirt was taken at my highest weight. That was my nephew's first xmas. The picture with the red shirt was taken a few days ago. Same sweet boy, same (but shrinking) auntie Gigi. I am having multiple issues but the weight seems to be easily coming off. I hope that others are doing well with all of your recent surgeries. Top weight: 427 Surgery weight: 385 Current weight: 317!! [emoji2][emoji2][emoji2]

So, my sleeve surgery went great! Little to no anxiety which is great... however, the pains from bloating and the ‘gas’ hurt so bad!!! Fever of 100.7 F so very low grade. Fluids are hard to get down bc of the extra full feeling I have from gas bubbles. I’ve walked, doing deep breaths, patted myself on the chest as if I was burping a baby... any other tricks and tips for getting rid of the gas stuff???

I am 5 1/2 weeks post op. I lost 15 lbs the 1st week, but I haven't lost anything since then. It's been over a month and the scale has not moved. This is crazy. I understand going through stalls, but 4 weeks out of the first 5 weeks?! I am following my diet to a T, I'm getting around 100 grams of protein a day, and I'm taking all my medications as prescribed. Why is this happening to me? Has this happened to anyone else?

I use to have a lap band(placed in 2011) . I was 220lbs and got down to 123lbs. I loved my band! I got sick and was vommitting for hours and it ended up slipping. I had a revision done and the band removed and the sleeve surgery done in November 2017. But I can’t lose weight! I’m now 176lbs! And so depressed! I want my band back! But I can’t find any surgeons in the Houston area who do a band over a sleeve. I’m even willing to pay out of pocket! Has anyone had a band placed over their sleeve? Does anyone have any tips or advice? I feel like my appetite is so big again and my sleeve surgery just hasn’t done what my band did for me.
