I was in for one night. They do make you stay for most of the day following surgery. You have to do the swallow test. Once that is done they start giving you water 2oz at a time. I was very nervous prior to surgery so I understand. I won't lie lie, the first couple of day are tough, but you feel better each day. If you have a recliner I recommend sleeping in it the first few nights. Laying flat hurts. I have been in my bed now the last 2 nights.
Surgery was March 9. Doing pretty well so far.
I had my surgery March 12. So far everything has been going good. I’ve been a little sore but no pain and no gas.

I had my surgery on Tuesday the 19th. I was knocked out for the rest of the day. I did vomit twice in the first 24 hours but then I was fine. I walked a mile and was discharged on the 20th. Things have been going smooth and I switched to regular liquid Tylenol by Thursday. I've been hitting at least 2 miles a day on the pedometer. No problem getting liquid or protein. Thank God [emoji119]
