Ok so I got these things off the internet. Patches with a magnet in them to put over ur belly button. Supposed to curb appetite. Well lately I've felt a pinch to the left of my belly button. On the inside. Could this magnet, smaller than the end of an eraser effect the staples in my stomach?

Please tell me this gets better!! Any small sip I take makes me feel like it’s just sitting in my chest & HURTS!! When will I feel normal again?? I’m desperate for some relief & positive stories!!! Thanks all :)

My mother in law is getting ready to have surgery and mentioned not being able to throw up, ever again, even if she gets sick. I’m 10 months post op, and went through months of pre-op education with Kaiser and I have never heard this?! I’ve also thrown up twice since surgery.... so, is this a thing for people?

I am getting some good toning in my 'middle' stomach. Can't seem to get much In the lower belly area. I'm thinking some of this may be due to surgery and some just cause that seems to be where all my extra stuff wants to hang out. crunches, bridges, planks......anything else you have found success with?

So tired. Went to the Dr this morning bacause I'm not feeling any energy, in fact it's worse. 17 days post-op. Have had to start metformin & glimeperide again. Forgot to tell the Dr I've had diarrhea since yesterday, so waiting on Dr to call back and see if they want to add more blood work. I'm wondering if I'm dehydrated? I'm lucky to get 45 ounces in. Can't stomach whey protein. Took one sip and started to gag. I may have to go to the hospital at this point. Any ideas?

Hi guys! I am currently 6 weeks post op and began eating "regular" foods this week. My post OP diet was very strict. No meats, hardly any carbs or sugars...and now I've hit a stall. I was 345 at my highest weight...now I'm stuck at 307. Any tips on how to break a stall??

Since my surgery (2 Mar 19) I've been experiencing all around discomfort. drinking water causes a number of gurgles, burps, and split second heartburn. I'm nauseous most of the time so my food intake is dismal. acid reflux is present but not unbearable and just a constant general discomfort in my abdomen and I'm beyond lethargic, which I'm guessing is because of my lack of nutrients. Doctors ran leak test and check blood and found nothing. I'm just wondering is this common, and i just need time to heal? or is this cause for concern?

This morning I got on the scale 10 days after the stall began and I am down 1.5# hopefully this is the start of that dreaded scale to start moving regularly again.... Yes I know be patient and continue doing what I am doing but lets just say I am one happy camper today!!

Hey everyone! ? Quick question i hope some of you can answer. After your insurance approves you for bariatric surgery, what are the next steps?? And do they let you do payments on the surgery or does that just depend on your surgeons office?? I feel like this process is taking forever and im trying to be positive. Thank you! ?

We talk a lot about what should be our average weight loss and how fast we should lose post-op. I saw these two graphics today and thought they were very helpful to allow us to visualize a realistic idea of how fast and what percent of weight we should lose at 3, 6, 12, and 18 months.

So I had gastric sleeve surgery on 11/3 of this year so almost at a week now. However, the pain hasn’t really been any better. The main source of the pain is the dent you’re left with after the surgery (on the right side). I haven’t really had any gas pain and I lost like 8-9kg(17-19 pounds). Without any nausea (only on the first day) or much of everything else the surgery is associated with. Everytime I move that place where the dent is hurts a lot, and I can barely even stand up straight for more then a few minutes without feeling like my insides are gonna pop out, and I have to hold my stomach (the area where the dent is) to stop it hurting faster. I’…

Well hello, anyone and everyone who might be reading this I'm Nikki, 26 year old soon to be RN who is going full time to nursing school, already have Bachelor's in Biology, been married, getting divorced, moved out, work full time in an ER, so what better to do than get surgery? Not any surgery, as you all know, a life altering all consuming procedure that literally drains me of all my self control and sanity. I guess what I am trying to do with this post is see if there is anyone like me out there. Young, stressed, and wanting nothing more then to live their best life. So I ask you this, question #1, what made you want to get this done? For some of us, like me…

So now that I’ve lost some weight I asked my life insurance to re-evaluate my rating to see if I can get a cheaper rate. Those jerks actually cut your weight loss in half because “the average person regains half the weight they lost.” Has anyone else run into this? Just irritated me. Sorry to vent.

Today is the last weigh in before my surgery. So for the last week I have been on a clear liquid diet. According to my scale I was down to 231. This morning it went to 235 then 233. So afraid it's 236. If it is I'm not sure how far it will be pushed back. I been working so hard and I don't think it's far that if it's 236 I can't get the surgery seeing that it's only 2 pounds off. I basically been starving on this liquid diet, working out, every part of my body hurting. Scared isn't even the word for right now.

After 6 months and a fairly rigorous pre-surgery program, the scheduler will be calling me Monday to set up a date. Apparently, once you are at this stage (all boxes checked and insurance approved) it’s only a week or two out until you have surgery. My emotions are a jumble. Nervous and excited, but mostly excited. I have lost about 20 lbs pre-surgery, and just went through my clothes to give away. Having this surgery means that I have a much better chance at keeping any weight I lose off. It’s a strange, awesome thought. I’m sure that my emotions are going to be all over the place over the next few weeks. But I feel ready. While the program has been rigorous, my ho…

Hi all! I have Gastric Sleeve Surgery on Monday 3/18/19. I’ve had anxiety a lot of my life, which my outward sign is nausea, which causes more anxiety, which causes more nausea... you get the picture, lol. I’ve been on my pre op liquid diet for 9 days, tomorrow being my 10th, & my last sleep before surgery... AHHHH! I’m super excited for the outcome, but terrified of the pain & nausea after surgery. The anesthesiologist plans to give me something to calm me before surgery & plans to double up on my nausea meds before I wake up after, but I am still worried about it. Any tips, tricks, success stories of no nausea, etc. that will help put my mind at ease? Thanks s…

Five days into the pre-op liquid (-6lbs) and feeling a little better, headaches are easing up. Some of the comments are making me a little nervous. I am allowed a very small meal, once a day for the first seven days; which I do look forward to. I am dreading the last seven days of complete liquids, however; I think I'm in the zone now. Ten more days and I will be on the losers bench. Best wishes to all my fellow sleepers.

Hey, fellas. Figured I’d share my stats and experience, as it may help some of you. Surgery was on 8/15/2018 SW: 210 CW: 125 That’s 85 lbs down!! I do this by living a low carb, clean eating lifestyle, and on most days I attempt to keep my calories below 1000. Originally the calorie counting was barely a challenge, lately however, my sleeve has been able to accommodate lots more and...well...whoops. I use the app Baritastic (which I recommend!!). It was a game changer for me. It keeps me accountable for everything I eat, drink, exersize... oh exercise, I don’t do it. ? I try to do some muscle building about twice a week, as my muscle mass has depleted ssiignii…

I had the sleeve done back in August and I am struggling really hard with food. Prior to surgery I used food as a coping mechanism to weigh down my depression. Now I am about 65 pounds down and I feel myself going back to my old habits. I always feel the urge to be eating something and when I do I usually eat until I feel sick because I think I’m not going to be able to eat again. Is their anyone else that feels like this? I am seriously considering using my EAP at work to seek counseling for food addiction. I am so stressed out that I am screwing up my progress and will stretch my stomach back out.

I am scheduled for the sleeve in April. I’m reading a lot about patients who have regained some of their weight back down the road and complain of the Ghrelin hormone returning. Is this guaranteed and will my stomach slowly go back to its pre surgical size??
