Like my title says; I'm 3 months post OP and I'm almost 6 weeks pregnant. Has anyone ever find themselves or know someone who's been in this situation? Was the pregnancy successful? My surgeon said while they recommend waiting 12 to 18 months post OP before getting pregnant, it's not impossible to do. I wanna know what to look forward to..... thanks in advance guys!

Hey everybody! I wanted to post in celebration of hitting my weight loss goal just shy of my 6 month mark (5 months and 26 days). I am now 175lbs! I was as thin as a rail in high school and weighed 155 consistently all 4 years. I never thought I'd be this close to my high school weight so quickly. My new goal (which I never thought was possible) is to hit 155 and be done, for my height, I don't want to weigh any less and I don't want to lose my curves. It can be done. Use this tool to change your life and your health! Don't get discouraged or beat yourself up. You can do it. If I can do it, you can do it!!!! I work from home and have led a very sedenta…

Hello everyone, I had the gastric sleeve done on March 25, 2019. I'm post op day 18 and having a really hard time adjusting. I am at the stage where I can eat mushies and that has been going slightly well. Still very thirsty though. I'm following my diet plan but my mind and heart are really struggling with this new lifestyle. I can't help but think about pizza and sodas. I don't feel much hunger.. just mostly cravings if that makes sense. It came to a point where I cried really hard to my support system which they have been nothing but outstanding. Everyone knew that I was absolutely in love with my body. I loved every inch of my body. However, the harm I was causin…

Hi! Please be nice. I've been the same weight for 16 days. I mean the exact weight. I've lost 42 lbs so far, but not one more pound. I've been tracking my eating in an app and get no more than 1100 calories. How is this possible? I have ate some high fat foods, otherwise I'm not sure what is going in and I feel like this is it, no more weight loss, even though I'm eating 1/4 of my previous food. Please help me understand. Also, I started back with 15 units of Lantus & my endo said it could make me gain weight. Really? Help!!

I had the lap band for almost 10 years and it quit working the last 4 years with big problems. The tubing was rubbing the vagus nerve and eventually led to A-flutter. Now I'm pursuing the sleeve. I am struggling to not gain all of the weight. I'm using a Fitbit and My Fitness Pal. I have put on a lot of weight, and all I want is the freedom of movement back. Interested in hearing any feedback.

Hello, Just wondering if anyone has taken or is currently taking an anti inflammatory after surgery? I was on Voltaren for multiple issues and since I have been off it since surgery, I am in so much pain. When I asked my surgeon they did not flat out say no it more like wait awhile and we will see. I was taking it while I had the lap band with no issues. I had a upper GI and a barium swallow for other things and nobody said I had issues due to taking the Voltaren. My weight loss has pretty much stopped/stalled after 7 weeks due to not being able to exercise. Thanks for your thoughts.

Hello. My sleeve surgery is scheduled for June 20th. The last time I had bloodwork was over a year ago, and I was low in iron and vitamin D. I have to have bloodwork within 30 days of my surgery, and I’m wondering if I’m still low, is it likely to delay my surgery? Has anyone’s surgery been cancelled for low iron or vitamin D?

I am only 3 three weeks out and just starting occasional thick liquids after my sleeve. I have GERD and it seems any food bothers me. I know sometimes this can lead to a revision. My insurance changed 4 days after my surgery and my new insurance doesn’t cover wls. Would it be covered!

This rattled me so badly, I created an account to come and get some advice... I am two weeks post-op, everything going fine though I can't seem to get more than 500 calories a day. I had a tsp of peanut butter yesterday that got me up to 800, but...you know. 500 isn't great. I'm drinking my protein shake/water today, and I'm dizzy, and after bending over, I nearly blacked out; my coworkers (who don't know I had surgery; they just think I'm on a "strict diet") declare that I am starving myself and give me one of the folks' mashed potatoes to get in some calories. I gobble down like...a half cup? A bit more? Without pausing. SO hungry. (And I do feel tons better, just …

For those sleevers who have passed the abdominal pain, was it normal for there to be pain for a few hours each time you did a movement where you accidentally used your core. I'm only 3 weeks post op and this has been the worst part for me so far.

So I was really happy with my weight loss 1 week after surgery and I’m just going to continue to keep doing what I’m doing and ride that good start. I will not continue to weigh myself on the scale everyday. How often do you weigh yourself because I think I need to do it a different way and have a weigh myself game plan.

Howdy everyone. How are you getting in enough protein from natural sources. I am 6 months out and have never tracked my food. I just ate the foods that I was told I could eat and ate some of the recipes from here. I mainly eat meat then follow with some vegetables. I got to noticing that my hair was thinning. I take a multivitamin already so I figure it was from not getting enough protein. When I track my protein it is 60-70 a day but I should be getting closer to 100 I don't wanna eat more. I was told to get most of my protein from natural food, but last few weeks been eating protein bar for breakfast because they are higher in protein than couple eggs for br…

Any females here that had the sleeve done also have PCOS? What have your symptoms been like post-op? Did your menstrual cycle become regular? I ask because I'm almost 18 months post-op and my periods have been regular post-op up until this month. I'm about 16 days late from my projected period according the the app (Period Tracker) I've been using for years. Took 2 pregnancy tests within a week of each other and they are negative. Gained about 5-7lbs within the past 2 months. I'm afraid that PCOS is winning the war on my body again since I have not had a period yet this month.

I'm just curious to see what other people's diets are like. I've been careless lately and I've decided to motivate myself! So I wanna see what other people do for each meal to get good ideas! c: Also, if you have any good recipes to make protein shakes taste amazing, feel free to share! I've added about two spoonfuls of low fat ice cream and that helps a lot! I'm super picky so I'd really appreciate more ideas of how to make the shakes enjoyable. c: I've lost about 100 pounds c: I still need another 100 to get to my goal! I hope you all are doing great progress too!

Hi! Just found this awesome community and wanted to say Hi and introduce myself. I am 42 from Mid-Michigan and currently 265lbs at 5'6". I think at the doctor my BMI was about 41. After bringing up bariatric surgery to my doctor she was 100% on board. I had my first consultation last week and they have already scheduled my next three visits, my psych eval, and my endoscopy. I was shocked that that was all done on the first appointment. Now to wait out the next 3-3 1/2months and get everything finalized. For insurance, it seems pretty easy, they cover 100% and I just have a deductible (so out of pocket around $900). I am trying not to take this part lig…

Hello! I am new to the forum and have just started my gastric sleeve journey. My insurance covers the surgery but requires a 6 month period of weight loss consultation with a healthcare provider along with a list of other prerequisites. I am considering the option of private pay (private financing) instead of waiting 6 months for insurance approval. Curious if anyone else chose to not file with insurance? Pros/cons. Looking for advice.

I am scheduled for my surgery with Dr. Ilan in a few days. I have not spoken to him directly, but have had friendly/professional conversations with members of his Accounting and Transportation team. Is it normal to not receive any communication directly from the surgeon and to arrive for a consult and labs and surgery all in the same day? Also, what should my companion and I expect the following day of surgery to look like? How many days should I prepare to spend in the recovery hotel?

Hello! I’m very new to this site and just beginning my journey. I am attending a bariatric surgery seminar next Monday to learn about my options for WLS & meet the surgeons. I have insurance through BCBS Arkansas, through work. Our outline of coverage says, “Services your plan generally does not cover,” and lists a bunch of services including bariatric surgery. Has anyone had ABCBS and appealed after a denial? I’m thinking that would be my best move, or wait 2 years until we switch insurance plans and hope that it’s covered under the new one. I’ve heard great things about BCBS, and even read a statement by them that says they believe bariatric surgery is vital to a lo…

Four years out from gastric sleeve surgery. Lost 96 lbs. Went back for a check up. Did barium swallow. PA told me that my sleeve had returned to pre op size. Anyone have this problem? I'm trying to get back on track with the diet journal but feeling like a failure. Advise welcome. I was told by the PA that I would need to get bypass now.

This took a lot for me to do this ,but here it goes... My name is Melissa and I'm 32 years old. I'm a stay at home mom of my 3 children (9,5,3) and a wife to my amazing husband. I got my gastric Bypass surgery August 18,2017. I worked really hard to get to the point so that I could get my surgery. I did all my classes, ate what I needed to do, and even tried to lose some weight before the big day. So the day of my surgery I weighed in at 300lbs. I was so ashamed, and couldn't believe it myself. Now I'm down to 227lbs. My goal has always been 170lbs, and you can see that I haven't reached it at all. I'm still pushing myself to get there, but I need help! The past year I ha…

I'm over 2.5 years out from gastric sleeve surgery. And for at least a year when I'm sleeping often my stomach has these spasms or shakiness. It never hurts, but can sometimes wake me up. Can't seem to connect it to anything specific like food or heartburn. Just wondering if anyone else has this. It doesn't last too long, maybe 10 mins roughly and sometimes I just roll over and it seems to settle down. I know the stomach sort of vibrates to move food along, but this happens on an empty stomach also. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Hi all, I just hosted a party for my birthday last weekend and realized that I just cannot tolerate rich food anymore. I am almost 4 months post-op and haven't been eating rich food at all, and tried a couple of bites of party food (burger, mac n cheese, cake) here and there, none of which agreed with me. It felt like my esophagus was mad at me for even trying! I've been really good and keeping up my high-protein diet but figured I would make an exception for my birthday, but boy was I wrong. Has anyone else experimented with eating "treat" food for holidays/special occasions with success? Or is this an extension of food addiction thinking that got me so overweight …
