I am scheduled for my surgery with Dr. Ilan in a few days. I have not spoken to him directly, but have had friendly/professional conversations with members of his Accounting and Transportation team. Is it normal to not receive any communication directly from the surgeon and to arrive for a consult and labs and surgery all in the same day?

Also, what should my companion and I expect the following day of surgery to look like? How many days should I prepare to spend in the recovery hotel?

It sounds like you're having surgery in Mexico. There's a forum here specifically for that so maybe you'll find some answers there. I had mine done locally so of course I had met my surgeon and had labs done 2 weeks prior to surgery.
