4wks post. Have not lost in 2 weeks

Anyone experienced this? I’m going in to my 4th week post op. 4 weeks Monday. I have not lost weight in 2 weeks. Getting really depressed.

Dr. Will check for thyroid issues next. Anyone dealt with this?

Your body just went through major surgery and is transitioning from no food to liquids to soft foods to solid foods and doesn't know what to think about it. Just give it a little time and weight will start dropping again.

Has Dr appt today. He is getting thyroid checked. I just hope you guys are right. Because going through all of this for little loss. Feels like my body tricked me.

Same here. I am at week 6 and from week 4 to week 6 no weight loss, after dropping at least a pound a day for the first 4 weeks. This week I am back to about a pound a day. Hang in there.

My surgeon said not to be worried about the weight in the first 4 weeks because the body is doing fluid shifts and adjusting to the new anatomy still. Said to just focus on getting the protein in and drinking my liquids. Hope that helps!

It definitely happened to me, don't worry - this is normal. Don't get discouraged, and just focus on your fluid and protein intake!

Its been 3 weeks. 2 pounds.
Dr. did thyroid test.
Now sending me to endocrinologist.
I’m embarrassed and depressed honestly. I’m very restrictive on what I eat. Not deviating at all from physician supplied diet. I got a new treadmill to see if increasing activity will help me.

That's terrible. I hope things get better for you. Try to stay positive. Not that I could if I was in your shoes. Lol Keep me updated. I will pray for you. :)

increasing activity will def help. you should be exercising at 5 days a week. Good luck!

I am glad I read this topic; I am currently in week 4 and lost 1 lb. I thought it was something going on with me cause I just hit a milestone BELOW 200!! I have been at 198 for about 4 days then 197, so I was scarred it was something I was doing. I am also going to stop getting on the scale everyday, it just drive me crazy.

Thank you all.
