    December 2018 Sleevers!

Thanks you two - this makes me feel a lot better! I guess I expected to lose a lot more, I really need to quit comparing myself to others lol.

    December 2018 Sleevers!

Is anyone else losing suuuper slowly? I don't know if it is because foods are so easy to eat again, or what, but I feel like I get a lot of stalls. Still down about 45 lbs since I started this journey, though - I will take what I can get! And I am hoping now that I have been walking nearly every day that will help get the weight loss going again. Happy Wednesday, everyone!

    Bathing Suits

It is so cute, enjoy it! I bought a new swimsuit back in February, but I am hoping once it gets closer to swim time, I will need something smaller yet. (Fingers crossed!) I personally don't think I could ever buy a swimsuit online - I am too awkwardly shaped, I need the easy access to exchange if needed. I hope it works out for you!

    Fitbit

I really enjoy my Fitbit, it can be such a motivation. I did not realize they had a forum - I will have to check it out!

    machines

I don't know if it is similar to what you are referring to, but at Planet Fitness they have the 'Total Body Enhancement' machine you can use, and it works through vibration. It's supposed to be good with toning. I use it, I'm not sure if it is really doing anything but it's fun lol. Sorry if this isn't much help.

I need to start working out!

Start out slow. Don't go too crazy - ease yourself into it. Make sure it is something you find fun! Basically, make it easy for yourself - make it easy to want to do it. I have faith you can find a routine! As far as motivation goes, I always recommend the MyFitnessPal app/website. Great community, full of awesome people. Check it out!
  11. I returned after about 2.5 weeks. I am a teller at a financial institution, so I have some (somewhat) heavy lifting. My husband works at a call center, and took about the same amount of time off for his as well. I think it truly depends on the person - just listen to your body. You'll know when you are ready.
  12. I decided on the sleeve, because it seemed like the less extreme of the two. I was very intimidated b the idea of the bypass, and my doctor said for my size the sleeve seemed like the better option anyway. I have days where I regret it, simply because I feel like I am failing. But other days I am glad I did it.

    Returning To Work on Monday

I made sure to come prepared - protein drinks, flavor packets for my water, powdered protein, etc. For me, once I was actually there it wasn't so bad. You'll do great!
  14. I personally reached out to my HR first. I don't know it would be the same for you, but my HR person said it would be best if I also informed my supervisor. I don't know if that could be avoided entirely for you? If not, just keep it vague - all they really need to know is you are having a medical procedure done. If they ask for more, just say it's personal. From my understanding, they cannot force you to tell them exactly what you are having.

    Uncomfortable

My husband was pretty uncomfortable the first few days. We don't have a recliner, so we kept him propped up with pillows, and then I also got him a heating pad. Pressure on his torso seemed to help, too (he kept a binder the hospital gave him and layers of covers on him). I didn't have the same problems, so I guess I was one of the lucky ones. Best of luck, I hope you get to feeling better soon.

    Water goals

Going with this - I think a lot of zero calorie things count if you need to change it up. I personally have been really enjoying Powerade Zero. (:

    Alternative Pasta

I will always recommend 'zoodles'. The texture is a bit different, but taste wise it's the same as regular spaghetti.

    Cravings

Like others said, one month post op is around when I started eating more solid foods. By month two, my diet was pretty much completely open. It's hard, and I am so sorry you are struggling, but it does eventually get better. I personally tried to distract myself by staying as busy as possible - even if it was something as simple as watching TV, or reading a book. You can do this, though! You are stronger than you realize. <3

Have things gotten better for you? I personally can relate, in that I am already wanting to go back to my bad old habits. Embrace the fact you acknowledge your struggle, and consider today a fresh start. Best of luck in your journey, I have faith you can get back on track. <3
