Hey guys, I’m almost 8 weeks post op and my weightloss has been slower than expected. I’ve lost 9.3kg post op and altogether 15.7kg. I’ve got a lot to lose as started at 132kg and I’m 172cm. I’m able to eat everything, and can eat a bowl of pasta it just slides down. My surgeon said I’m lucky as so many people can’t eat carbs and are very sick after surgery as their sleeves are too restrictive but my sleeve has some give. He’s just prescribed me Saxenda to help turbo boost the weightloss. Has anyone else done this and has it helped you?

I need advice on what sleeve reset to do. I am a year and three months out. HW 330lbs SW 289 CW 234 GW 150 5’9 I lost 130 lbs very quickly and maintained that the last six months but did not lose any more. I was hospitalized with traumatic brain injury and within two months due to some med changes, gained 25lbs now plus 8 more. Is it possible to stretch out your sleeve that quickly? I went back to being hungry all the time and craving carbs and sweets and then fell back into eating them. Im trying to figure out what the best sleeve reset would be for me? Anyone with experience with this care to share?

Today, I am one week post-op, I am losing my mind just drinking chicken broth, high protein Ensure shakes and water/crystal light. I’m driving my boyfriend crazy talking about how hungry I am, my hunger came back far quicker than I expected. I just feel like he does NOT understand how difficult this has been when you are used to eating anything and now your not able to do that. Just feeling a little down today Happy One Week to me!

I had gastric sleeve surgery on October 24, 2018. So that makes today my 6 month post op anniversary. It's been a crazy experience so far, this weight loss surgery thing. I am still amazed sometimes at how much my life has changed for the better. I started off at 235 lbs on Oct 10, 2018 (start of my 2wk pre-op liquid diet) and am now 138.1 lbs, which means I lost 96.9 lbs (or 41% of my TOTAL body weight) since October 10th. Crazy. Went from a BMI of 43.2 (morbidly obese) to 25.4 (almost a normal 25!) Chest-Waist-Hips measurements (in inches) went from 48 - 431/2 - 491/2 to 35 - 29 - 361/2 Off all prescription meds, no longer pre-diabetic nor…

So I was sleeved March 11. I had a really rough go the first two weeks but have felt better compared to then. But I still wake up every day feeling like crap. I don't sleep very well which may be contributing... also my inscisions are taking a long time to heal and they even were leaking a little pus which I'm not sure is normal at 3 weeks out. I find it very difficult to get all my fluids in. It just is so dang uncomfortable. Anyone else feeling blah??

I had my sleeve surgery on 3/27/19 and my doctor also corrected a hernia. I have pain when I drink water, I have been followed the post-op diet/timeline to a T and still I get this pain as the fluid reaches the opening of my stomach, my questions are: 1) has anyone else experienced this? 2) how long does it last? In terms of the sleeve surgery, other than being a little sore near one of the incisions I have no issues. Thanks in advance for your response and the sharing of your experience. Warm regards. ~E.

Hey guys... I am currently three months out from surgery and my stomach is finally healed. Finally. But because of that, I feel like I can take in a lot more than before... I try very hard to make sure I dont drink with meals and dont overeat (about 3ish oz a meal) but I'm so so so afraid that I'm stretching my sleeve... is it possible so early out? I'm so worried. Any advice would be great. Thank you!

I had the sleeve done on February 22 of this year. I have had stomach pain on and off but nothing major. They said I have hematomas and the are getting smaller. I did have a small kidney stone which I think it has passed but I think I have a new one. For the last 8 days I have been having issues with keep solid food down. The surgeon said to go on liquids for a week. I go to the Urologist on Monday to see if that could be causing my issues? (pee blood) I have a lot of phlegm no matter what I eat or drink. Any one have any ideas or had the same issue? Help? I'm going on vacation on Wednesday for 2 weeks. Hope it wont be all liquids the whole time.

Hi everybody so yesterday was my 6 week post op gastric sleeve date. I have lost 20 lb in the six weeks. My question is this, my doctor is not allowing me to eat any real food! He wants me to stay on two protein shakes and one protein bar a day with 1 oz only of egg or yogurt or cottage cheese. 1 oz is two bites. Have others doctors had them on this after the surgery? Is this normal? Help!!!

Hey, everyone! I am now 5 days post op and I am feeling very weak. I am trying to drink water, but I am so afraid of overdrinking. I also realized that drinking protein shakes makes me feel ill. I get a major case of the stomach rumbles. Is that normal? Every single time I drink anything, I also get pain in my chest. I am full of gas and it won't come out D': Drinking just causes pressure and pain. I don't remember anyone else mentioning this. Is this normal? How have you differentiated between gas and heartburn? I'm so lost and I feel terrible.

So I was just wondering if anyone has had a weight gain early on? In the last 2 weeks I have gained 3 lbs. Not sure if this is normal, I have moved back on to eating normal now. Just 2 days ago, I can't poop, not sure if I should bump up my workouts or not. Is it okay to gain a little??

Hey everyone! So had my surgery today all is going well so far other then the discomfort of all the gas still in my body (just feels like I have to burp but I can’t) I’ve gotten up to walk a couple times so far to keep the blood moving. I have to stay at the hospital for night, unknown when I can get the scan to check to make sure there’s no leakage but it’s already 10pm so I assume it’ll wait until tomorrow. Quite annoying because all I can have is ice chips until then, water isn’t allowed. Onto the road to a brand new life!

Hi, I'm a newbie and have my surgery scheduled for May 14th. I've been advised to stop taking HRT leading up to my op which I've done but I'm curious as to when I can start taking it again. How soon after the op is the norm? I'm hoping I can stay sane until then ? Thanks for any advice.

So...any advice? I'm leaning toward trying an ovo-lacto pescatarian diet. I'm six months post op next week. Meats sit ok on my tummy but I don't like how I feel on such a meat heavy diet. I can only hold so much food so I feel like I get mostly meat and very little veg and fruit. I miss my plant based foods! I love fish and it never gives me issues. I'm a little worried about protein intake. I've never done a diet like this before it just seems like it will make me feel good. I'm very accustomed to a low carb diet so this alone will raise the carbs I get just with the veggies and fruits. Any other vegetarian or pescatarian peeps post-vsg? I'd like to keep super processed …

Hi guys, I'm 8 weeks post op and still havent started legitimately exercising... I was a few miles every other day but I know I need to start going to the gym. I'm so intimidated about starting...I dont know anything about the gym and dont know what to do when it comes to getting the best results. How did you start going? How often do you go? And what exercises/machines do you use for results? I have been so headstrong about everything...but feel so scared and intimated about the gym. Any advice and support would be great. Thanks!

Hello everyone. I an new obviously to this site and I had a question that hopefully I could get some feedback on. I am due to have surgery in June or July. My weight gain has been at a stand still since 2008 when I had a complete hysterectomy. Was never able to take hormone replacement and have literally been stuck at the same weight since then;give or take 2-5 pounds. What are your thoughts on getting the procedure and not having it work in the end due to my hormonal issue?

I went earlier this week for my bloodwork, chest xray and ECG. I looked online last night to see that my ECG results were in. Had anyone had a report of "myocardial infarction"? I looked everything up and basically what it is saying is that at some point I may have had a heart attack. Will this prevent me from being able to have my surgery?

Hi, I am new to this app but figured I’d download it for some support and questions.I am a month post surgery and a little worried.I can still barely eat any solid foods and my tastebuds have changed so much I can’t stand the taste of the protein shakes.I can consume a decent amount of liquid ow sugar juices etc but warm water hurts my tummy (weird I know) I am so hungry but I know it’s because I lack protein since I refuse to drink the drinks .I tried some noodles the other day and they went down pretty well but I’m afraid to eat them again because noodles are carbs which turn into sugar.HELP ☹️

Since the beginning of my weight loss journey, I am down 100 lbs, and I feel wonderful. However, I’m 6 mo post-op gastric sleeve and have stalled in my weight loss. I am not what you would call extremely active but much more so since I’ve lost some weight. My water intake lacks, and I also find it difficult to to get in my required protein on a daily basis without drinking at least 1 protein supplement. I have a follow up next month with my nutritionist. Jut wanting to know if anyone else has this problem and if there are any suggestions to jumpstart my weight loss again.

Last night I was laying in bed and all of a sudden I felt this super sharp pain in my upper abdomen/stomach area. It hurt to the point I felt like I couldn't move. I then started gagging and throwing up mostly clear liquid. Finally I grabbed some crackers, ate them and the pain immediately went away. I've had hunger pains before but this was like no other. Could it be something more serious? I am 8 months out from my surgery and I have been drinking lately. More than I should. Any thoughts? Thank you!

Two shakes and 4-6 oz lean protein and a small salad or vegetables (optional 2 small snacks). I guess I will be enjoying a few favorite meals today and tomorrow. April 29th here I come!!

Perhaps this post will help someone who is seeking to do VSG or some form of WLS because I will be honest with you about my journey. It has been 8 months since I had VSG surgery and I have lost only 44 lbs. Up to a month ago I had lost 55 lbs but I have since gained 10 lbs. There are a couple reasons for my weight loss failure and I am just putting them down in writing not so much so that folks can be critical, but more for the folks out there considering this surgery or might just have had it. I have not been committed to the process of changing bad habits or incorporating exercise into my lifestyle. I must have thought that having VSG was going to magically t…

I did everything required by my fidelis medicaid. I fit into their requirements with my BMI. They are saying it's to low (35.7) for my height I'm still obese. Now I have been denied. The surgeon did a peer to peer and was denied. The head nurse had me file a complaint w the Attorney General and went for an appeal w their support and was denied again. Now I am going for an external appeal. I am very upset and disappointed. I do not know what to do.

Good day fellow sleevers! I was hoping to reach out to some of my fellow Muslim sleevers about how they fasted during the holy month of Ramadan after having a gastric sleeve. I had my surgery scheduled right after Ramadan last year to ensure I could fast and then begin this journey. I will be 11 months post op when Ramadan begins this year around the beginning of May. My question is for those who have fasted after having the sleeve and being about one year out, how were you able to cope with the dehydration if any? Since we can’t drink and eat at the same time how did you break fast? Did you drink water first then wait 30 minutes and then eat? Did you find it difficult ge…

I had the lap band for almost 10 years and it quit working the last 4 years with big problems. The tubing was rubbing the vagus nerve and eventually led to A-flutter. Now I'm pursuing the sleeve. I am struggling to not gain all of the weight. I'm using a Fitbit and My Fitness Pal. I have put on a lot of weight, and all I want is the freedom of movement back. Interested in hearing any feedback.
