denied

I did everything required by my fidelis medicaid. I fit into their requirements with my BMI. They are saying it's to low (35.7) for my height I'm still obese. Now I have been denied. The surgeon did a peer to peer and was denied. The head nurse had me file a complaint w the Attorney General and went for an appeal w their support and was denied again. Now I am going for an external appeal. I am very upset and disappointed. I do not know what to do.

Good news! I finally got approved after 3 appeals. I have the surgery this Wednesday. Thank you everyone for the support. It was much help when I was a mess trying to get my appeal approved.

Look at Blossom Bariatrics...the most you will pay is $15,500 but they will try to work with your insurance to take care of testing and stuff so your price could be less but that’s the max you will pa

Ok I'm 4 days after my surgery and am starting to feel a little better. I had a hard time with the anesthesia so it set me back. At first I was like "what the hell did I do!" It's getting better tho

I wanted to go to Mexico but my husband said absolutely not. Reading more into it I’m glad I’m not as I read a woman who got a botched surgery (I understand this can happen anywhere but) her insurance wouldn’t cover to help her as she got it out of country. Long story short she’s in a lot of medical debt. Just do your research no matter where you go. ♥️
There’s a lot of different docs in Mexico. We have a vet in Mexico and it’s so much cheaper. I would just read reviews if you choose to go there. I’m probably going to go there for my skin removal since it’s so much cheaper.

Hopefully, with you staying on your insurance company, you will get the approval needed.

I did my surgery in Kuala Lumpur, but I reside in China so it was easy to get to-the total cost was under $8000 which included my flight, transportation cost and the entire surgery package (tests, hospital stay, etc...). Our home is in Florida and there was a surgeon in North Florida that was around 11,000 dollars which included all of the testing. There were a few others in that price range if you google it. Additionally, there are some financing places.

Let's pray for the insurance company to approve!

Eat more get I up some long enough to get approval tell dr your a stress eater onnext visit

Continue appealing the decision. Even visit a few more doctors to see if you have a few more conditions you are not aware of. Good luck!

I am so sorry you are struggling with the insurance. I think the advice of seeing about comorbities might be a good option. Sleep apnea, high blood pressure and some others can help make it so the lower BMI you have is not an issue.

Keep fighting! I hope you get good news soon!

Congratulations. I am happy for you. Wishing you an easy surgery and come back and let us know how you are doing.

I am so sorry!! I definitely know how that feels they denied me several times over three years. So I went to a different doctor and he was able to get it approved within 6 months. I’m not just a couple days short of three weeks post op. Don’t give up!! It’s honestly terrible and it hurt soo much but it will be worth it when you finally get approved!
Shoot just saw the update SUPER EXCITED YOU WERE APPROVED CONGRATS!!!!????

Congratulations and best of luck with your surgery and recovery ??
I feel for you. I paid myself. In England it’s roughly £10,000
