  1. @elcee, they didn’t cut your stomach for gastric bypass? I think no matter your surgery the end result depends on you. If you get the sleeve you get restriction and RNY you get malabsorption as well to help with weight loss. I know the sleeve is not reversible but it’s not common to have RNY reversed (from what I’ve read) and it’s complicated. Do your research on both and (no pun intended) go with your gut! ?♥️
  2. I wanted to go to Mexico but my husband said absolutely not. Reading more into it I’m glad I’m not as I read a woman who got a botched surgery (I understand this can happen anywhere but) her insurance wouldn’t cover to help her as she got it out of country. Long story short she’s in a lot of medical debt. Just do your research no matter where you go. ♥️
  3. Look at Blossom Bariatrics...the most you will pay is $15,500 but they will try to work with your insurance to take care of testing and stuff so your price could be less but that’s the max you will pay. This price includes hotel and transportation. They’re located in Las Vegas.
  4. I’ve seen around $10,000 (but may not cover some pre testing), $15,000 - $20,000 that covers everything.
  5. Bariatriceating.com also has a diet plan you can order the products and it’s supposed to help you feel restriction again. Basically going back to basics and eating like when your first got out of surgery for like a week. Protein drinks, soups, water, etc.
  6. @sleevedandleanineugene that’s so good to hear!! I’m glad you’re feeling better too. My surgery is with Dr. Umbach but I hear he’s good as well. I’m excited for you!
  7. @sleeveandleanineugene I’m so glad you’re doing well! I will be at Blossom in about 10 days!! Why was surgery day rough? Was it just a hard recovery?
  8. Do you still feel any restriction at all?
  9. @ elcee maybe they were doing the surgery endoscopic. I do know they do that in some cases.
  10. If possible you can always self pay. They have facilities that will work with self pay as some people get denied or just don’t want to deal with insurance hassle.
  11. I thought the sleeve doesn’t grow back. I’m pre op so not sure. Does he mean you stretched it?
  12. I’m completely self pay with Blossom. Surgery is on the 16th. They said everything is included and with the hefty price tag I’m paying it better be!
  13. @bariutiful let’s see the Vitamin pic! :)
  14. It’s just a referral tobsee the surgeon. They will be the ones to talk to you and approve.
  15. I found this that I thought would be helpful.
  16. To avoid food commercials (if possible) watch Netflix or something like that.
  17. How did everyone’s surgeries at Blossom go? I’m headed there in 2 weeks!
  18. I’m going to write myself a break up letter tomorrow for my not so great relationship with food. ♥️
  19. I’ve never heard of the surgery being done without one. That’s odd.
  20. I have Tricare Prime and they wouldn’t even give me medicine for weight loss. I’m near Fort Leonard Wood. I’ve ended up going self pay out of state due to getting no help.
  21. I tried a sample box of built bars and they’re really delicious!! I throw them in the freezer and cut them up into bites. The texture is more of a marshmallow texture (no taste) and are NOTHING like nasty protein bars that I’ve tried!
  22. My diet required of me is protein with milk or water 2x a day and a light dinner of small protein and veggies. Drink lots of water.
  23. My mom is against me having it too! She says the same thing...I’ll never be able to “enjoy” meals again. From what it sounds like we will have to change our eating habits but eventually can enjoy most anything just not in large quantities. I’m due for surgery in April!
  24. For the gas pain...does Beano help?
