Does anyone take gerd medicine and probiotics together?

I'm having stomach pain and I saw the Dr yesterday and she said to take the protonix for one more month and if it is not better they will do an endoscopy.

I'm 2 months out.

I take both. I take my Prevacid first thing in the morning. I take my probiotic after dinner.

Christine, do you eat yogurt too? I had my sleeve 2 months ago and I get an ache in my stomach that comes real quick and goes. I'm hoping the protonix and probiotic might help.

Have you tried kefir? If you can stomach it it is a good source of probiotics.

I know many people who are both probiotics and GERD meds. Theoretically GERD meds should help probiotics be more effective. If your stomach is less acidic the probiotic bacteria have a better chance of surviving and making it to your intestines to set up shop
