What part of Alabama? Im in Winfield

I am from Colbert County. I am hoping to be sleeved by December this year!

Me! I'm in Birmingham. Dr. Miles did my sleeve on 5/26. I have just started the soft food stage and I'm enjoying the taste of food, but man do I miss eating. Even though I'm not hungry.

Robotics? No! Dr. Miles is very old school. :) I'm not nauseous anymore. I had some the first two days but none since. I'm feeling good, just a little discomfort as I learn how and what I can eat.

Yeah I opted for it because of the new technology of it showing the sealing of the stomach. Leakage scared me! I had trouble with plain water just up until recently. Thank goodness that part is over!

Do you know of any support groups in the area? StV East has one the 3rd Saturday of the month, but I'd love to find out if there are more. These first few months I feel like I can use all the help I can get!

It is so nice to know there are several people getting sleeved in Birmingham. I am using Dr. Dewitt and I hope I will be sleeved sometime in November or December 2015. I have already done my sleep study, I have to have 7 months of supervised dr visits which I am on #3 this month so all I have left is EKG and pysch visit left to complete. Who are ya'll using for pysch ?

I'm from Decatur and I'm seeing Dr. Askew at Brookwood. I just finished my last diet follow up on Friday--now I'm just waiting to hear back from Blue Cross.

Yay! She is great; you will love her. I had mine done April 24. She will ask if you want it robotically, I did and would def recommend it!

I use to live in Alabama will forever be a Tide Fan. Dr. Dewitt did bypass on 4 of my family members. I saw a picture of him last week and was in shock. He sure has changed over the years. He is very caring. You are in safe hands. He did not do my surgery because we moved to Florida 14 years ago.

I am attending the seminar with Dr Malipur in Huntsville in a month. I understand that I have to make appointments with several different kinds of doctors. I also understand that some may not give approval for the surgery. Can anyone give advice on which doctors they did use for this process. My family doctor won't approve it as I spoke with him last year about it. Thanks you all!
