Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery

8 months post and 2 months pregnant. I've been feeling so weak lately. I can't eat enough. Has anyone else had this issue

I'm 4 months post op and just found out I'm about 6 weeks pregnant. This will be my third child and in no way was this planned. I'm very worried! I'm worried about having a healthy baby and if my body can even handle this?!?!

Well, I'm about 16 months post op and am pregnant. I recently turned 34. At that time, I had a bit of a melt down because I have no children and thought if I didn't have at least one before I was 35, I'd never have one at all. It was a tough pill to swallow. Less than a month after that meltdown, I realize that I am pregnant. My life situation is not ideal for being pregnant, but in spite of this, I'm thrilled. Here's my short list of obstacles: 1) my partner is married. He and I have been living together for a while, he has a 6 year old daughter with his wife, and they have been separated for over 3 years. Short story is that 2 years ago, we TTC for over a year. I had PCOS but WAS ovulating on my own. Hubby's stuff is perfect. We did several months of clomid, trigger shots, follistim, IUI, etc. I always ovulated perfectly and always BFN. Fast forward to now...I'm 10 months post op and dr gave us the go ahead to TTC again. He assured me the 120# I've lost has cured my PCOS and we shouldn't have problems. I know weight loss helps non-ovulatory PCOS become ovulatory, but has anybody still needed assistance getting pregnant post-op? Or how long did it take you to conceive once you were *trying*?

Was wondering if anyone got pregnant right after surgery? I don't want to go on birth control after being. Banded, but don't want to get prego for a good year, never used BC with my husband and have never been preggs, any thoughts????

My husband and I started trying for a baby around early June but have not had success. We've both had fertility tests and the doctors have determined there's nothing wrong with either of us (his swimmers and healthy and abundant, and I don't have any issues with my ovaries/Fallopian tubes, etc). HEy everyone. I was wondering if anyone else had late periods after the sleeve. I'm about 7 weeks post op. had a period about 2 weeks after surgery and was expecting it again 6 days ago. I'm starting to panic. I was thinking w the rapid weight loss maybe that's y I'm late. My husband had a vasectomy after our second child, but heard those tubes sometimes grow back. Really hoping to hear this is normal after the rapid weight loss.

Hi there, I'm just over a year out and 20 weeks pregnant. I've lost 100+ (it fluctuates) lbs (pre pregnancy). My OB and I discussed my weight history, my past pregnancies, and my current pregnancy and she gave me they ok to not gain (but not lose) any weight. If I do gain, we hope it's less than 10-15 lbs. I am almost 2 years out from surgery and 27weeks pregnant. I know I am suppose to gain weight and so far I have been good ... Gaining 7lbs BUT I have been eating more and more and my belly is able to handle it :/ not sure why. Plus I have been craving sugar and crap I know I can not have but I give in and YES I get sick where I feel horrible. Guess I'm just not understanding why I am able to eat this not good food now and wasn't able to do so before I got pregnant. I don't want to gain over the recommended weight or go back to old eating habits!

Hi All- I had lapband surgery in 2009 in Phoenix with Dr Terry Simpson. I did not meet any of the requirements for insurance and ended up as a self pay and one of the 'smallest' patients Dr Simpson had ever operated on. Unfortunately, I now believe that label (from his assistant) was said to shame me. I just found out I was pregnant a couple of weeks ago and really im on here just to get some feedback on being pregnant with the band. I've been banded since Nov 2012 and have lost about 80 lbs. Recently found out I'm 8 weeks pregnant. We were using protection so this was a shock. I had my first OB appt the other day and she told me I need to be getting 2000-2200 calories a day which is impossible I can barely get 500 in right now. She was full of scare tactics and kept spouting off all these risks (mostly because of Obesity, NOT surgery) said I was high risk, but I don't know if she said that due to the fact I'm still overweight or because of recent surgery. I everyone!! Can someone please help me!! I had my daughter in may and I had a hard time trying to eat while pregnant but steadily I was able to increase my consumption (the doctors were worried).. Hi I had the full gastric bypass 8 years ago . I lost 255lbs . Anyways, I had one child pre op who is now 14. And 14 years later I am now pregnant again . I still can't eat large meals . And after pasta my sugar reads 5.8 for pre diabetes . Even when I was 450lbs I never had any medical issues whatsoever . So it's a bit nerve wrecking for me. I'm also afraid of the glucose test, I heard it could kill bariatric patients . Anyone else have anything similar ?

Hi Everyone, I am almost 1 yr 9 months out from Sleeve surgery and will be 7 weeks pregnant tomorrow. My hairloss stopped a long time ago from surgery but noticed that is has started up again. I am just curious if anyone else has noticed this while pregnant? and if it is has anything to do with the sleeve or if it is just common in pregnancy? Hi All, I had my surgery on 11/8/12 and my husband and I started trying to get pregnant a few months ago. This month however I am feeling a bit off. My question really is when you feel nasaus is it different than the over stuffed or sleeve nasuaus/ sick feeling? Any other feelings that may be different? I just found out I am pregnant I am 4 months post-op. It is earlier than I expected but I am super happy about it. We tried for a year and a half pre-surgery with no luck and now we are pregnant with out even really trying. I'm still in shock a bit Anyway... my question is what Vitamins your doctors have you on for pregnancy in addition to your post-op vitamins. I have talked with both my surgeon's office and my OB office and they are going to get back to me. Hi all, I am 8 months out from vsg and just found out I am about 5 weeks pregnant with my first baby. We are thrilled but also shocked. I did not plan to get pregnant this early. I wanted to wait a year as my surgeon recommended but I guess things happen when they happen. I have lost 120 pounds so far but am still about 65 pounds from goal. Hello, I am curious if your sleeve hurts with pregnancy? Does baby touching it hurt? I find it to feel uncomfortable to very painful. I think when he flips around, big movements hurt the most. I am 31 weeks.

I had my surgery 3/25/13 and just found out 3 weeks ago I'm pregnant. I'm super happy because I've never been able to get pregnant before (even tho this was a surprise) but I'm concerned because I can eat whatever I want or can tolerate but within an hour I'm starving. Hello Everyone, I am about 18 months or more out from my sleeve, which was a complicated situation. I had a leak and other issues. Anyhow, due to my leak I was told my situation will always be different froma typical sleever. I am now pregnant and in my third trimester. A lot of irrational fears are starting to arise. Any recommendations on prenatal Vitamin brands? And additional supplements? Is there a particular brand you've tried and didn't like?

For those that are pregnant, How many calories are you getting each day? Do you have a daily goal or just listen to your body? Are you gaining/losing weight at that amount? Are you working out? I am only couple months preg and i now feel hungry i never felt hungry since my surgery 7 months ago. Which in return i ate to much and got sick and vomited everything so i know i need to learn how slow it down but is this normal to feel hungry with this pregnancy

I became pregnant in December and was very happy. I just found out last week that my baby's heart stopped a month ago at 14 weeks. I was 18 weeks pregnant and didn't know my baby was dead inside of me :-(. I have had 3 successful and healthy pregnancies and am devastated. I just had my son and since the day I left the hospital I've been having stomach pain. I think my band may have slipped. I can't keep anything down and when I drink it even hurts and when I start to fall asleep I get night coughs, chest pain and today my back is killing me. I'm in a new state and now and I have medicaid! At one point during my pregnancy they tried to find me a bariatric doctor because I'd been complaining of not being able to keep food down from early in the pregnancy and the one they found didn't take medicaid. Even though I'm no longer pregnant I still feel more comfortable posting here My 2nd band baby was born last October, and during my pregnancy with him I had all of my fluid removed, but I'm still finding myself getting "stuck" and throwing up a lot more then I should be. My husband is really worried about me and wants me to go to the dr, but with 4 kids (and 2 babies) its hard for me to get there. He thinks my band has slipped but wouldn't that be the opposite effect? I'd be able to eat and eat and eat without getting sick? Has anyone else experienced the feeling that their band was tight when it was really empty?

I have my surgery on 03/28/14 I found out maybe 3 weeks ago that in pregnant. I'm 7 weeks now I was happy because me and my husband had such a hart time getting pregnant. My Gyn said do t worry everything will be find. Yesterday I went to my Follow up with the Surgeon his nurse told me that me I should consider my as high risk pregnancy now I'm worry. I have horrible nausea and vomiting but for my first miracle baby she going to be 2 yrs old. I was like that I vomit everything I had for dinner or lunch. I put everything in god hand.

Last month I was a positive confirmed pregnancy by my Dr. I was 5 months post op. Then I started spotting... Lost the baby with in 2 weeks of the spotting. Anyone else? I was devastated! When I got pregnant with my son 2 years ago, I was banded. One of the first symptoms I had was my band was either too tight and I was throwing up everything (even water) or I could eat anything and everything. I'm too early to test right now, but I'm having the similar feeling of having a bottomless pit - eating everything and anything. Did anyone else have similar feelings? I am not eating everything in sight because I've taught myself to eat 5-6 small meals (which works best for me because I get nauseous on large meals). Any insight is appreciated!

It's been 2 and a half years since my surgery and my Dr just switched my birth control. Until February I was on the depo shot but now I'm on the pills. Needless to say I'm feeling all the side effects. My appetite has increased and I'm constantly craving things especially sweets. Have anybody else had this problem?

Hi All, I had my son when I was 25 and weighing around 260s (i am 5'9). I was young and lots more energy and weighed less then. I have been putting off other kids for numerous reasons but the major one is how physically drained I feel. I also have Hoshimoto's and PCOS. I am weighing around 285 now and just turned 30 in Feb. I have been reluctant to get pregnant again because I just can't imagine having the extra weight, the discomfort, the complications, etc. Not too include the extra weight and trying to manage two kids, house, family and career. I found out I was pregnant a few weeks ago. I havent been feeling to great, I have been very nauseous almost daily. I see my OB on Monday and my Surgeon on Friday to see what exactly I need to do/ not do. I have no idea what they are going to want to do. I feel like I do not want any fluid removed at all and nobody is touching my band but wanted to hear others story's. I really dont want to gain alot of weight. Any advice ? Also anyone breastfeeding? And how long after can you get fills if they take fluid out?

So i found out i am pregnant! One year post-op today. What a day! Totally freaking it. This was unplanned. My partner and I just bought a house and was planning in getting married next year. Now with the possible baby it upsets all our plans - how we wanted it to be when we are ready for children. Only in about 2/3 years. So i am contemplating an abortion.
