Still Struggling With Body Image
I can totally relate to this. Although I was banded and then 8 months later became pregnant (wanted to!) and after having my son I still struggle with an extra 20lbs (from baby weight AND post gall bladder problems), so I still sit about 40+lbs away from my goal. However, I found a pair of pants the other day I used to wear, and I held them up and my husband took a picture, and I felt like Jared from the subway commericals. I looked at them and thought, "My God I could put myself in ONE leg". I use that photo as a reminder of how far I've come, not by the mirror that shows me how far I still need to go. PS, congrats to you and your loss, feel proud hun! You've done an amazing thing with your life, you've IMPROVED it!

2 Days Post Op.. Shouldwe Stop Ttc?
Thank you lollicat. Unfortunately words can be "heard" in a different tone on the Internet. I do wish you the best with both your lapband and TTC journey but right now you need to focus on YOU and getting yourself healthy so that you can have a happy and healthy pregnancy.

Band Slippage With Pregnancy?
It can but it's not as common as you think. Make sure if you are having severe MS to get some fluid out and get some zofran to help with the sickness. Good luck!

2 Days Post Op.. Shouldwe Stop Ttc?
Why would you go through getting the surgery then try to get pregnant right away? That defeates the purpose and you could do more harm then good since the first 8 weeks is based on healing and recovery alone...

Not the Flu! It's a Baby!
Congrats on your pregnancy!!! I was banded Feb of 2010, I lost 75lbs then we got pregnant in November of 2010, my son was born this past July. I gained about 52lbs with the pregnancy but I have lost all but 7lbs so far. The biggest concern was the morning sickness in the beginning, they removed some Fluid in my band because I wasnt able to eat as much as I wanted to. My entire pregnancy went very smoothly and I did not have any issues with my band. My port did stick out quite a bit during the end, we joked that it was my "turkey timer" and that the baby was done The only issue I have had is my gall bladder has "gone bad". This has probably happened because of the pregnancy, but its not unlikey to lose your GB after being banded as well. I still have about 35lbs til I hit my goal but I am happy with every decision I made. If you want to talk or need any advice feel free to stop by and send me a message. GOOD LUCK!!!

Baby 3mths, not losing weight
I lost 26lbs within the first 3 weeks and I am still gaining and losing the same 3lbs. Im really discouraged I havent had anything done to my band since my slight unfill when I was 11 weeks, and half the time now my band still feels tight so I am not able to eat as much as I should be since Im breastfeeding. I really wish I could get more of this weight off faster.

Baby is 6 months old-I'm nursing and freaked about a fill
This might sound a little off the wall, but have you considered INCREASING your calorie intake by 200cal a day? Nursing takes a lot out of you (no pun intended), but as your baby gets older they require more (obviously) and for that, you might try to increase your food intake. Now, obviously that doesnt mean having a few handfuls of Cookies, try to keep the calories healthy, but honestly, I am having the same problem. I KNOW that I am not eating enough to do both and that is why my loss is stalling. I have started drinking Protein shakes to give myself more calories and protein. Maybe try incorporating a shake or two during the day as well? Good luck hun!

Band complications during & after pregnancy
I am 5 weeks PP and not having trouble with my band. I think my only complaint is how my port is currently sitting. It seems like its sitting higher then it used to, but I know with all the stretching in my muscle walls it probably is just having a freak out in there, and Im hoping as I continue to lose the baby weight and get my muscles back together that it will settle back into its place. I have noticed that after giving birth that my band seems tighter then it was. Although I am also under a tremendous amount of stress due to my personal life I am not sure which to chalk it up to. I dont plan to get a fill for awhile since I am breastfeeding and already having a bit of trouble consuming enough calories for me and to produce a decent amount of milk.

refill after delivery
I am 5 weeks PP and I have not had my band refilld yet. After giving birth to my son all the sudden my band became a lot tighter and I am actually having some trouble getting all of the calories in that I need (I am breastfeeding). I am drinking Protein shakes to add calories and protein where I am not able to eat it. My suggestion is see how you feel a few weeks after delivery. Your hormones are going to be all over the place and can cause your band to tighten like mine (some women notice their band getting tighter during their TOM as well) Good luck!!!!
