My Lapband Dr is upset I'm pregnant again. I had a miscarriage in November at 10wks. I had severe morning sickness with that pregnancy so he wanted to do an endoscopy. I scheduled the test but his office cancelled on me and between their holiday schedule and mine (plus work), we couldn't reschedule. It wouldn't have worked anyways b/c by then I was pg again. Today, I go in b/c I'm having a lot of gall bladder issues and he gets upset b/c I'm pregnant and can't have the endo done and a HIDA? scan done. I remind him that I had a HIDA done before I was pg the first time and it came back at 79%. He tells me that he is removing all Fluid from my band and if I still have issue…

My baby is 10 months now and I've only gotten half of the Fluid put in that I had taken out during my pregnancy. I have been having lots of problems juggling a 10 month old and trying to keep my bites small and be mindful of eating slowly. I also am eating bread and all those other carbs I wasn't pre-pregnancy. I get stuck almost every meal and its frustrating and draining and it takes me forever to eat! I'm scheduled for a fill on April 1 and I am nervous I won't be able to stay focused on eating! I've already decided to cut out breads, most pastas and tortillas again to help combat always getting stuck when I eat. I desperately want to get back on the bandwagon! …

What did you change in your diet and exercise after finding out you were pregnant? Did you increase protein? What supplements or foods were/are your go-to? Did you change exercise routine? In what ways? What exercises have you found helpful for you during this special time? Any tips or insight you have to share would be wonderful. Bless you all!

I have not had a fill or unfill in like a year and had been able to eat mostly what I wanted. I’ve been exceptionally tight for like the last few weeks. Now my period is supposed to start and it hasn’t and I’m not even crampy. Anyone else get a really tight band in very early pregnancy? I’m going to test if I don’t start soon.

Here is the run down... Had vsg 2 years ago. Lost 180 pounds. Pre-vsg I had a slew of health issues. PCOS, high lipids, high blood pressure, diabetes...you name it, I had it. Now...I am 10 weeks pregnant. I see a high risk ob with consultation from my Bari surgeon. However, I now have to eat every hour or two and for the first time in my life, I am constantly hypo! Docs are ok with 1 hour post meal bs at 70. My body is not. I also had two miscarriages pre-vsg and was constantly hyper with them. I am struggling to keep weight gain at a minimum but loading carbs is zapping me! Any advice?

and we are 17 weeks pregnant. Has anyone else been in this situation and continued to lose weight the entire pregnancy? Since finding out I was pregnant in December I have lost about 20lbs although I continuously eat to try to accommodate for the extra calories that I know I need to get in. I'm hoping as baby grows the weight loss will stop and I will stay at a steady weight. Just looking for advice from others who have been in the same situation! Thanks in advance.

Just wanted to give you ladies some hope. Here's a little background: Had surgery April 3, 2012. Tried to get pregnant since September 2009. Started trying to get pregnant again in April 2013 (one year post op). Got pregnant in October 2013 - NATURALLY (tried fertility treatments in the past). Started pregnant at 163 pounds (5 feet 6 inches tall - was 271 on day of surgery). I am now 26 weeks and 3 days pregnant (due June 22, 2014!) with a healthy baby boy! Went from 163 to now 169 pounds! 13+ weeks to go!

I was wondering what most of you ate for each meal to ensure that your baby is getting enough. For example did you make sure to have a shake daily because it's so protien packed? Or did you find something else that worked.. TIA

I had a miscarriage in November and currently pregnant again. I had a little over 2cc's out in Nov due to unable to keep fluids/food down or to get it down. I haven't had any issues until this week (10wks pg) and now it hurts to eat solids. Is it possible I have a slip? Or what? I know it can't be from too tight already?

I got pregnant 6 months after surgery, i was on BC and also have PCOS, so it was a surprise ( albeit a good one, previous to surgery we had tried for 4 years with no luck)! I am currently 24 weeks along, but i keep losing weight. I was 195 when i got pregnant and i'm now about 178. I keep losing weight, about a lb a month. I've increased my eating and added an extra Protein shake into the mix for extra nutrition, but nothing seems to help. I am already forcing myself to eat more than what i'm comfortable with, but i'm still losing. My nutritionist doesn't think there is a problem, as i'm getting about 2,000 calories a day, but my doctor is starting to talk about put…

Hello Lap Banders - I am 8 months pregnant and having my lap band removed today. It's been a long ride but I haven't been able to eat solids in at least a year and now liquids are giving me a hard time too, plus having acute abdominal pain and they ruled everything else out... I've had the lapband in for nearly 2 years and with no fill since 6 months in. The doctors don't think it's a slippage and couldn't see what is wrong but from my research and reading I am thinking this might be the esophageal enlargement issue?!? In any case, I am nervous first and foremost to have the surgery while pregnant since they cannot monitor the baby during the laproscopy, and also so n…

Had my sleeve done in 2010. In 2012 I got pregnant and had my baby in July 2013. My lowest weight prior to pregnancy was 127 but I was in the 135 mark before getting pregnant. I got close to 160 during the pregnancy. As my pregnancy progressed I could feel my capacity for food slot increase. And after having the baby and beginning to breast feed, I was ravenous. Now that baby is 7 months old, I've only been able to get down to 145. I'm breast feeding but can eat so much more food these days. Sometimes I barely feel sleeved at all. What can I do?

I am still pre-op, should be having surgery next month, but always wanted to be a surrogate mother at some point in my life. Does anyone happen to know if having this kind of surgery would make it so I couldn't do this in the future? I know you have to have a healthy BMI to to surrogacy. Wasn't sure if it was considered a "risk" that they wouldn't allow me to do it. Thanks

Hi everyone, I got pregnant 3 months post op and haven't lost anymore weight. I have gained 8lbs which the doctor says is great. btw I am 34 weeks yesterday. so I am so concerned cause it seems that I can eat way more than I should be able, like about a cup or so at one sitting sometimes. the other thing is I want to graze all day as I feel hungry all the time. im not eating a cup of food every time I graze but its like I want to feel full all the time. I am worried I will stretch my stomach and after baby comes I will not continue my weight lose journey or that it is going to be so much harder. Does anyone know if the restrictment of the sleeve comes back after you deliv…

Hello all...I am still preop but just have a couple concerns still. My husband and I have two little girls but we still want one to two more children if that's what the good Lord allows. I am scheduled for surgery Feb 24 pending insurance approval.....I know they say wait 1 year to 1.5 years before etc which I am fine with but my main concern is breastfeeding....it is very important to me and I want to be able to do so...I know there's are a few on here that have had children post sleeve but I was wondering if any of you were able to successfully nurse without issue? Any advice, stories or tips would be much appreciated. Thank you

7 Months out and I've been hit with baby fever! My older 2 are 2.5 years apart, and if I were to conceive now, the middle and baby will be 2.5 years apart! I've lost 100lbs with another 50 to go till goal. Am I crazy for wanting a baby now? I was planning a tummy tuck for the beginning of 2016 so I'm not worried about stretching my tummy. A little worried about weight gain. Any insight? Also, does anyone have 3 kids? Is it bad having an odd number? I have 2, and would have my tubes tied after the third.

I am 14.5 weeks pregnant, due June 30th. I became pregnant just before my one year sleeve-versary, sleeved November 13th, 2012, same day a a year later confirmed with ultrasound I was 6wks pregnant. I wasn't completely at goal but I'd been at my current weight since March, around 260 (before you all gasp, I'm 6' tall which means aprox a size 14 pants, XL/L shirts, it just sounds fat if you're short!) I had wanted to be at 225 before I got pregnant but those last 10lbs that I'd taken off had taken me 6 months, 225 seemed way far off! So, we began trying and got pregnant immediately (which is awesome, since pre-sleeve we tried for over 4 years only to get pregnant and …

Hello! I am new to the board and had a few questions. I am currently 24.5 weeks pg with my 3rd child. I was banded back in 2011 and lost all and some of my weight. I had very high blood pressure issues but not extremely over weight and so was considered a candidate for the surgery. I started out this pg at 115 lbs and am now sitting at 132.5 lbs. I had a slight defill done in my first trimester (1cc was filled to 7.5cc's so I'm still at 6.5cc's about).... So my question is how much totaly weight did everyone gain during there pg's? I find I am still restricted to a certain amount and have a hard time eating certain Proteins, rice and dry things.....I am not r…

This is a really personal question, but I'm curious. My husband and I want children, so I'm wondering if anyone has had the same problems. I was diagnosed with PCOS a few years ago, and was banded this year. I haven't had my period since I was 18. I was told it was related to my weight (when I started my journey, my BMI was 75). So, my question is, has anyone gotten a normal cycle after starting their weight loss? If so, how much did you have to lose? We want children badly, but I know that without losing the weight, I'll never produce eggs, and this offspring. I'm down 70lbs and I'm getting frustrated. I just want to know that there is some hope for the future. I just tu…

I haven't been on this site in a while...feels good to be back and reading all the success stories. Anyways, It's been a year after surgery, and I'm pregnant! 11 weeks along, to be exact. It was definitely a SUPRISE! But happy about everything now I have a few questions...when should I tell my surgeon?! I'm really afraid to call and tell them, and I don't know why !! I've had some morning sickness, and have only thrown up 1 time. And it was stomach acid ewwww. I feel nauseous when I don't eat, so I'm snacking every 2 hrs or so to keep my stomach full. I don't feel like I need an unfill, but I'm curious about everyone else! I guess I'm scared to see doctor because I h…

Hello everyone, For those with PCOS who got pregnant shortly after surgery (or within the first year) did you find that your period started to become regular cycles again. I'm 7 weeks post op & had a period 3 days post op, and the following month I have had a period again ????. Does this mean I'm beginning to maybe ovulate again & should be extra careful with using some form of contraception during sex? I've suffered from PCOS for many years & usually I'd go months without a period maybe only having 1-3 a year.. So this is somewhat new to me.. Any advice would be appreciated.. As much as I desperately want a baby I know I need to lose the weight first.. Chee…

Hi everyone I am only 5+1 weeks pregnant, but I would love to get information from other women who have been where I am. I am extremely nervous about gaining a lot of weight, it doesn't help that I feel like I am eating too much. Just 2 weeks ago I was only about to eat barely one slice of homemade pizza, last week I ate 3! 1/3 of a chicken breast, to 1.5 breasts. Thanks, Kelsey

Do any ladies have thoughts or experience regarding how soon after having a baby you got a fill if you were breastfeeding? I don't want my supply to dry up or lessen (I'm already not producing enough milk) but I am itching to get a fill and start getting this weight off! (I only lost 20 of the 60 lbs I gained from pregnancy and now I'm just stuck!) I had half my Fluid taken out around 10 weeks pregnant (4 cc) and will probably have to get 1 cc at a time and pay $250 out of pocket each time so I don't want to go too soon... Should I just wait for 6 months of breastfeeding (ideally I will breastfeed for 1-2 years) and see what happens after that? I'll will be 3 months p…

I had my surgery almost 3 years ago (January 20, 2011). I had to sign a paper saying I wouldn't get pregnant for 2 year, and I suppose it was close enough? Lol. But I have a few concerns, this is my first baby and I really have no idea how my body will react? Is there any advice you can give me on what to expect? I know I'll be gaining weight..and I'm okay with it because I refuse to gain just because I'm pregnant.

Would wild sex...or rough sex cause the staples to pop? Would pregnancy cause the stomach to stretch which will cause the staples to pop? Dumb questions, but I am curious about this. Sorry. Don't judge me, just educate me. I did research, but of course I need a person who actually had the surgery done to tell me, not the scientific method on how it works once sleeved. Bored and curious at the same time.

I was sleeved Dec 31st 2010. I lost all my excess weight (105 pounds lost). I had gained back 10 pounds, so not much, but then I got pregnant in July of 2012. My baby is now almost 8 months old. I did fairly well during my pregnancy. I gained 40 pounds which the drs were fine with. Then now since having the baby...it's like my sleeve is practically my old stomach again. I am gaining weight, I eat like I used to (pre surgery) I have no restriction whatsoever. It is so frustrating, depressing. I am 40 pounds above my lowest weight. And while this might not seem like much to some people, to me it is horrible because I can see it getting way out of control and I w…

Hi ladies! Wow, I leave for a month and this whole website changes LOL. Hope you're all doing well! My little guy was born on October 21st. 9lbs 2oz 21 inches long! We had a few complications after delivery but we're both doing well now. He's 10lbs and 23 inches as of today. I'm exclusively breastfeeding and we're both doing well with it! I've lost all but 4lbs of my pregnancy weight and then I hope to really gear up and get those last 20lbs off I've been dragging around! Happy Thanksgiving ladies!!

Hey Ladies! Well, it's finally my time. Xander has stopped breastfeeding and is 6 months old now. I got into a funk and stopped counting calories...then I did a really stupid thing and weighed myself last night (after sitting at work all day)...252!!!! OH HELLS NO (was at 197 when I found out I was pregnant). I called my band doctor today and was able to get an appointment for a fill in 2 weeks! I'm really excited because I'm sooooo ready to get back in control and having restriction. I'm scared because I remember how hard it was to change my eating habits in the beginning, but I'm hoping my previous experience will help me stay vigilant. I got 4 cc's taken out when I…
