Pregnant With Sleeve Surgery?

Anyone had issues with the staples detaching after becoming pregnant. A bit worried getting pregnant after having my sleeve done. I wouldn't want the baby and I in danger if the staples become loose and it cause a leakage. Can this happen?

I haven't heard of that happening.

I thought your stomach starts to heal over your staples so I don't think there's the possibility of it causing a leal after your stomach heals.

I'd ask your surgeon and see what he thinks

Best of luck :-)

My doctor told me to wait a year and everything would be fine.......

  • 2 weeks later...

We had a MAJOR birth control FAIL!!! First time we had set after surgery we got pregnant even with 2 forms of birth control... I am 17 weeks now and there hasn't even been a mention of the staples being a concern and I am ALWAYS emailing my surgeon and his staff asking questions.

You are absolutely right.
