  1. After the baby was gone you also got rid of the relaxin hormone which relaxes not only your joints but also stomach muscles making it easier to get food. I am so sorry this happened to you I am 35 weeks and every little thing has me worried this time...

    Weight During/After Pregnancy

I too am 35 weeks... but have no idea lol... i was only 3 weeks post op when i got pregnant (scary) and kept losing big time... Once I started to gain (barely anytying) I lost it... started freaking out. Surgeon and OB told me not to look at the scale so I dont. I haven't looked at my weight In about 2.5 months and then I had only gained back 3 of the combined 70 lbs I had lost during pre op and since surgery.
  3. Third pregnancy has been way easier in some ways but there is the restriction issue... it is HARD to get the right calories. There are things that are harder like combating cravings because I can't just eat a bunch of chocolate... and I forget to eat and then nothing tastes good... but yeah I have a lot more energy and getting around has been easier. I have a scheduled c section in 5.5 weeks and will will be bringing my little man home in 6 weeks.
  4. You will be ok! I was only 3 weeks post op when we got pregnant ?!?!?!?! It was a complete surprise. I will be bringing my little boy home in 6 weeks :-) it's hard and you really have to focus on food but if you make sure to eat lost of little meals and eat the right stuff you will do great! I had horrible morning sickness and was told to eat whatever would stay down. Talk to your OB ASAP and make sure they are willing to learn about post sleeve pregnancy. When you get to 28 weeks tell your OB you need to do do a week of accu checks for the diabetes test not the normal glucose screening. Message me if you need anything :-)
  5. Glad to hear it. Feel free to message me anytime!!!

    Quick Question

I have gained maybe 10lb back... Baby is growing great and I am also healthy. As long as you stick to your rules and don't think "im eating for two" only take on the extra 300 calories a day you should be fine. Also at the start of my 3rd trimester when I actually started to see the scale go up... I stopped looking so now at 32 weeks I have NO CLUE where I am a at but hubby said he would tell me when I went over the 10lb mark :-) lol
  7. I was 3 weeks post op when we got pregnant. I did the accu checks for a week. This doc you have now needs to either be willing to learn that our bodies are different and we require different care or you need someone else. :-( it sucks I know but your doctor works for you not the other way around. I have 7 weeks till baby and everything is going perfectly and we did did the accu checks. You just test your sugar 4 times a day.
  8. At that point I would be looking for a new doctor.
  9. Don't do the test! It's not accurate for post op... ask your doc about just doing accu checks for a week and recording your Levels...

    4 months post op

Yes to the stopping of the Bariatric Vitamins the D and A are too high just take take a prenatal (I take target) your B12 and Calcium... I was 3 weeks post of when we got pregnant ?!?!?!?! Especially early in the pregnancy the calories are fine. The body doesn't need extra calories until about 20-24 weeks and at that time it is the equivalent of half a Peanut Butter and jelly sandwich. I was a culinary major with with a focus in nutrition. To anyone else having issues getting the food... I graze all day I am 7 weeks from c-section and have only gained back 10lb. Take care of yourselves ladies

    4 months post op

Eat... lol whatever you can keep down. It's hard to go against what you have been working so hard for. Aim for about 1200 calories a day... I had to graze all day. I stopped losing weight around around the 3rd trimester and am holding steady I have about 7 weeks left. Ask to do accu checks for the 28 week glucose screening and don't drink the syrup stuff. You might have to educate your OB and you might have to find a new one... many get spooked... only take one prenatal a day. More than that and you can OD baby on vit D or A

    8 months out...

I stopped losing once I hit mid 2nd trimester and have stayed steady since then l. I got pregnant 3 weeks post op...
  13. Hi! I am feeling great! I lost a total of 70 lb then have stayed right there... but baby is growing right on track! Which means I am still losing and he is gaining what he needs. I have 7.5 weeks until my c-section and I can't wait I am very excited. I can tell things are still changing... I still drop clothing sizes. Still don't reccomend anyone getting pregnant this soon it's HARD but I have more energy than I did in either of my 2 previous pregnancies.

    What do you eat?

Both pregnancies before WLS were a dream. No issues at all normal morning sickness for a few weeks but otherwise great pregnancies. This one has been VERY different.

    What do you eat?

I eat whatever tastes good... I had so much trouble at the beginning getting anything down that they wanted me to eat whatever I could keep down.
  16. I am currently entering my 3rd trimester. This is my 3rd baby 1st post sleeve. There have been challenges but the baby is healthy and so am I as long as you work with your doctors both surgeon and OB everything should be fine. Please wait the recommended 12-18months... I had a BC failure way too soon and have had way more problems because of that. I also know quite a few moms who waited the right amount of time and had zero complications. GL :-)

    Can't gain weight

If baby is healthy and you are healthy it shouldn't be a prpblem. My OB is doing extra ultrasounds and blood draws to make sure he is growing and not focusing on the number on the scale. I also reccomend for those having issues freaking cause you put a pound or two back... don't step on the scale anymore... have hubby hide them it works wonders for your mindset :-)

About 20 lbs up after baby

Start back on your post op guidelines... and work your way to your goal weight. Then go back into a maintainence program.

    Surrogacy after sleeve?

Most likely you would be immediately disqualified because of the surgery. Parents pay so much for surrogacy they are not going to use someone who would automatically be considered high risk.
  20. 8 lbs at 34 weeks you are doing great! Stop watching the scale if it is messing with you I don't have scales in my house and I turn my back at the doctor. Remember you are going to deliver 7-8lb baby, amniotic fluid, a placenta, and all that extra blood has to come out. But remember baby only needs 300 calories a day which is equivalent to half of a PB&J sandwich :-) (part of my major was in nutrition )
  21. Things are GREAT now... at about 19 or 20 weeks the morning sickness stopped for me. I am having an easier time getting food but it's still a battle... I might get 1500 calories a day on a good day but that is still tough cause I don't want to eat junk... on the bright side I am 230? Lbs (my husband has hidden the scales cause I was getting upset about gaining 2 lbs) and everything is going straight to him so I am still losing fat and just gaining baby.
  22. I am 24 weeks and have lost about 40 lb and have a big healthy boy in there :-)
  23. I am 24 weeks and have lost 40 ish granted I was only 3 weeks post op... ooops.. but Doc says everything is looking Great and baby is in the 60th percentile... overweight women are ok to lose some weight during pregnancy :-)
