  1. I had my band removed and was sleeved on 5/19. Trying to get my vitamins and nutrients and I was taking Bariactric Advantage Chewable Vitamins before my surgery. But now when I take them I almost immediately get sick, its like the taste changed and my stomach said "no way". Anyone have any recommendations on something else to try??
  2. Thank you! And good luck to you too.it for sure is in my head. I know I'm strong enough to overcome this and its only the beginning. I have to be on liquids 2 weeks pre-op.
  3. Well I'm going on day 5 of all liquids before my surgery. My husband has been super supportive with helping me stay on track. I'm a personal chef and I love to cook, consequently I love to eat, hence why I'm in the situation I'm in. It has been so hard to not come home and whip up dinner as usual. I'm doing the Bariessentials shakes which are very tasty. But I'm getting to the point of wanting to chew food. I've been eating a ton of sonic ice which has helped. I know its going to be hard and I'm prepared for my journey ahead. My surgery is May 19th and it couldn't get here any quicker. Any suggestions on how to fill the void of wanting to chew food while on the liquids?

  5. Thank you!! Good luck to you! So ready to get this done
  6. Are you a self pay or is that what insurance wont cover? My insurance isn't covering anything. Being a self pay I'm paying $16,000. That includes everything from my EGD to my post-op appointments, overnight stays in the hospital, nutritionist, anesthesiologist, and everything else in between

  10. Good luck on your journey! Just remember the final goal, might be uncomfortable for a little while, but it will be worth it in the end.
  11. Well its official, I have a surgery date of May 19th! Im so excited but am also nervous/anxious. I am having a band to sleeve revision. My doctor said it shouldn't be an issue to remove my band and do the sleeve at the same time, which is a huge relief. Anyone else having surgery in May in or around Dallas?
  12. Oh yeah I'm a self pay so I think thats why he's able to do the surgery in one. Good luck on your journey!

  14. Thats great they were sble to do it in one shot. Hopefully mine will be the same. I officially scheduled my surgery for May 19th today. Im nervous/anxious but am ready for this surgery. Hopefully they'll let you have some liquid protein soon to subside the hunger.
  15. Glad to hear you are doing well! Im having my revision in May. Starting to get nervous, but am excited for the new journey. Were they able to do the sleeve in the same surgery?
  16. Hi all, I had my band done in June 2010. I did well for the first 2 years lost 85lbs. All of a sudden I started having problems with my band, not being able to keep food down, not able to get the nutrients I needed. My doctor ended up taking out most of my fill and I was fine for a while. I started gaining my weight back slowly but surely. Currently I have gained most of my weight back. I have been miserable with my band not being able to find my "sweet spot", fluctuation of my weight, and not able to keep my food down. I am meeting with my doctor next Friday to discuss having a revision done to the sleeve. my main concern now is I dont want to make a wrong decision with the revision. I'm newly married and my husband and I also want to start a family someday. Im worried about those future pregnancies and how the sleeve will effect my baby. Any advice or experiences are appreciated. Thank you!
