Pre-Op Liquid Diet

Well I'm going on day 5 of all liquids before my surgery. My husband has been super supportive with helping me stay on track. I'm a personal chef and I love to cook, consequently I love to eat, hence why I'm in the situation I'm in. It has been so hard to not come home and whip up dinner as usual. I'm doing the Bariessentials shakes which are very tasty. But I'm getting to the point of wanting to chew food. I've been eating a ton of sonic ice which has helped.

I know its going to be hard and I'm prepared for my journey ahead. My surgery is May 19th and it couldn't get here any quicker.

Any suggestions on how to fill the void of wanting to chew food while on the liquids?

I only had one day liquids before my surgery, but I feel the same way now that I've been on liquids seven days post op. Sugar free gum helped me a little. Good luck and congratulations! You can do it. I just keep telling myself I've chewed enough food in my life surely I can go a few weeks without it!

A week out I'm not hungry but it's definitely a mind game I think I should be eating!

Thank you! And good luck to you too.it for sure is in my head. I know I'm strong enough to overcome this and its only the beginning. I have to be on liquids 2 weeks pre-op.
