I have noticed that everyone looks amazing in their after pictures but I have a question? For those of you that have a lot of extra skin in the stomach area how do you cover it up with your clothes? From the pictures I would never be able to tell any of you have extra skin. Do you wear something underneath your clothes or is the skin just not that noticeable?

Hi All! I hit my two month mark last week (I was sleeved on 12/09/16) and thought I would share some pics! I have a total weight loss of 70 lbs since the start of my WLS journey! Feeling great and can not wait to see where the next few months take me! I did have a complication with my surgery (twisted stomach) in which I had three additional surgeries and just had a stomach stent removed on 02/14/17 that assisted my stomach to heal from the twist. Although my journey has been different than most, now that my complication has finally been resolved I feel like I can hit the ground running even harder to make bigger and bigger lifestyle changes! I wish everyone the…

Has anyone heard if Potassium citrate supplements are OK with sleeve? I was getting leg cramps and eye twitches and I thought that I might be low on potassium so I bought a supplement but when I read the warnings it sounded like it could burn your stomach and since we don't have much of a stomach I was just curious .

I haven't written for a few .on the due to some issues. I almost died passed on 2 weeks ago due to intestines and absorption issues. I guess when we get gassy we have to be very careful because our intestines can rupture. I thought looking 6-7 pregnant sometimes was normal, just had to pass it. Lol. They are trying to give me banana bags monthly, also an IV cocktail. To help, the first banana bag was ok but I was in so much pain and out I couldn't tell, the second one I wanted to get up and wonder around but since my body was healing I had to sit often. I stayed home for, 4 days trying to care for myself. Then I was admitted for 2.5 days and close to death. So now ER ASA…

One year ago today was my gastric bypass surgery. Surgery went fine. Although I did not have a very fun recovery, but it is MAJOR surgery. I had stabbing pains while healing, couldn't drink or eat much of the required nutrition, so it was a slow recovery for me and all I remember was saying to myself "I just want to feel back to normal". Well....as the time passed....I got back to my "new normal". Today, I am 86 lbs less - basically at the goal weight I set for myself. I think if you are +/- 1-2 lbs of your goal weight = goal weight. I reached my goal weight at about 9 months after surgery and am maintaining so far. I still am not able to eat a whole lot at any g…

It's been a while since I've been on here and just wanted to share my progress. My starting weight was 314, I'm currently 196! I'm amazed at the difference and progress I've made! I wish anyone thinking about surgery or just beginning their journey the best! This was the best decision I've made and it has truly changed my life!

This sleeve is a game changer for real! My high weight was 249. Surgery date Jan 13th and I am down to 219. Never felt better. Just started working out again. Going to get shredded. Other than surrendering to my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ this is the best decision I have made in a long long time.

I'm one month post-op and I'm thrilled with the results thus far. HW: 324 SW: 297 CW: 270 Total weight lost: 54 lbs! Lost since surgery: 27 lbs! Here I am two days before starting the pre-surgery diet weighing in at 324 (I was down to 314 only two weeks before this was taken, but I gorged on all of my favorite foods in those last two weeks). I was just cleared from my 10lb lifting restriction and started P90X this morning. To prevent injury, I'm easing in to it for the first few weeks until I get my endurance and strength up to where I can really push it. I've done the program a few times in the past and have been very successful, but the weight came right …

Hi...I was banded in Monterey, MX by Dr. Sanchez. I could not be banded in the US at that time because I was not considered "morbidly obese". I did the yo yo with my weight most of my adult life and was never able to maintain a constant healthy weight. At that time the lap band was very new and a lot of people were going to MX for placement. I have not had a fill in over 10 years and still have restriction. I still have to eat slow, chew well and am not able to eat certain foods unless I have had a drink or two (which loosens the band...relaxes me). I still have a difficult time eating out .... I eat much better at home. I can't eat in the mornings and have carnat…

Went well, in general. Surgeon chopped and popped as a Pro. Didn't fix umbilical hernea though...a subject for upcoming meeting. Surgery Pain manageable, but a belly-binder ace-bandage would have helped early-on. Wifey had to haul me up from bed for 2 days...that bad! Kept cell-phone on me, as bell-ringer wasn't loud enough. My little dog pounced on belly, but learned not to do that again... First 3 urinations following penial catherization were unbearable, even with meds...its mainly a guy thing and supposedly not so bad for typical others...a subject for upcoming meeting. It's a deal-changer for potential joint tummy-tuck and umbilical hernea surgery...change pract…

It's been one year today since I had my sleeve done. My life has changed in every aspect. My start weight was 333.1lbs My weight this morning was 137.8lbs That's a total loss of 195.3lbs!! I've also lost a total of 95 inches...I'm a size 6 now...used to be a size 30. I have accomplished this by being very focused and strict with my eating and exercise. I eat very low carb, and always get in my Protein, Vitamins and Water every day. For all of you just starting out, just know that anything is possible, and if you put your mind to it, you can achieve anything!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

So...4 months out and (almost) 4 stones down...the before and after photos are at 3 stone off, I look SO different again, just need to take a pic. I have lost 12 inches off my waist and 14 off my 'mum tum' (its flabby flap has gone from 3 inches of sag to under 1/2) I am lighter than my other half...therefore no longer the heaviest in the house *high 5* I have lost the combined weight of my 4 year old, the cat and 2 of our hens I buy a UK size 16 off the peg (previously a 22) I have just applied for and got a job which I wouldn't have dreamed of even applying for 5 months ago...start tomorrow eek! My 4 teens are super proud of my new look and (though they aren't co…

Hello everyone! Sorry for the undies but wanted to drop a progress pic to Celebrate my 6 month surgiversary! (the plan was to wear the same clothes but the bra is too big to stay on anymore... I'm not complaining haha) 5'11" HW: 300.0 (3/29/16) SW: 278.4 (8/1/16) CW: 204.5 (2/1/17) GW: 170 Down 95.5 total, 73.9 since surgery I was hoping I'd hit 100lbs lost/onederland by 6 months but I've been in what hopefully is just a stall for the past 3 weeks... the holidays were a struggle and I think that belatedly set me back a bit but I'm back on track so should see it moving again soon As for actual measurements, I forgot to take them at my highest weight or surgery weigh…

Hello everyone I had my 12-week post op appointment with my surgeon today. As soon as he walked into the room and saw me he said "You look so different! I can see the weight loss... you look great!". Well, I am far from "looking great", but it sure did feel good to hear him say those things. Plus, he said that I was right on track, asked me how I was feeling, etc. After meeting with him I felt like jumping up and down with joy! I felt so encouraged. Next step is to have bloodwork done to make sure my Vitamin B levels and Iron level look good. Then I am to make an appointment with my dietician and just go over my daily eating habits with her and see if…

I just got back from Hawaii! 5 Glorious Days. Four planes, no seatbelt extenders, and full use of the tray tables. I went parasailing, which was amazing and life affirming. So blessed to be on this trip in the first place, but so grateful for this life changing journey.

Hello Bariatric friends, I had my surgery on July 2 2014. I had gastric sleeve. I had lost a total of 110lbs and got to 140lbs. I have gained some weight back but am working on getting that back off. I only have about 15 -20 lbs to go to get back down to 135-140. Anyways, for my question, has anyone experienced being very hungry (you have not eaten yet) but when it comes down to eating, you are not able to eat. Its like your body wont let you. That has been happening a lot lately. It could be my first meal of the day(breakfast). I would take a bite and then I am full after that one bite. It is really frustrating when that happens because I literally hav…

Just curious how much weight you lost each month. By low BMI, I mean about 60 or so pounds to lose total. I'm a super slow loser and I want to get to goal! About 20 more to go, and it'll probably take me 4 more months at my turtle pace. Month 1: 16 lbs, month 2: 5 lbs, month 3: 8 lbs...

Just the other day I was recommending this site to someone beginning her WLS journey and in doing so realized how influential this forum has been to me. I do not post often; but I avidly read and take in the experiences of others. I firmly believe that knowledge is power and that my success thus far is because there were very, very few surprises thanks in large part to this forum. During my 6 month supervised diet phase, I educated myself every day about the surgery and the lifestyle changes that had to occur as well as the insurance logistics. My surgery date came and went with no surprises because I had read so many of the accounts of others. When my first stall ha…

As you can see I’m still very new to the post-surgery world. But today I had a little success to share with everybody who will be going through the same thing in the near future. An update on how I’m feeling, gas pains are all but gone (keep walking!) I’m now at the point where the sites are very itching and some of the bandaging is coming off. I’m still a little slow but I have very little to no pain, except minor at the incision sites. Now for the little success, I just started full liquids yesterday and today I decided to have some tomato soup, I heated up a can of soup which was about 12 ounces, I sat down and started taking small sips to see how I tolerated it (no pr…

So I am just about 7 months out since my surgery. I can honestly and easily say this surgery was the absolute best decision of my life. My highest weight was 433 lbs and my surgery weight I was 396. I am now down to 230 lbs even with a total weight loss of 203 pounds. Anyone having any doubts about this surgery all I can say is do it!! I was terrified but it was the best thing I've ever done Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I am so pleased to say that Jan 5 marked my one month surgiversary and I am down 24 lbs from my surgery day weight of 219 lbs ( currently 195 lbs). But the real kicker is my starting weight pre op was 242 lbs so total lost is 47 lbs , yessss. Also, my birthday was Jan 5 as well and I am a beautiful 39 years young may I add. So excited and looking forward to more success in near future. My goal is 150 lbs. motivation is on point to reach it.
